- I'm an artist that brings history back to life by creating famous figures from the past in the modern day. I think the modern-day creation brings them closer to us, reminding us that they were just people too. Today’s subject is the mysterious Lady of Elche statue, which has puzzled archeologists for over a century. It has been called everything from an ancient Iberian masterpiece to a lost artifact of Atlantis. What did the statue look like in the past? What was it used for? Let’s first dive in with some history, and then of course I’ll reveal my statue recreations.

She is absolutely gorgeous. Such beautiful and perfect features.
The recreation is breathtaking!!! Thank you for bringing these beautiful people back to life for us!!!
Thank you!
Wow! She looks like a modern Spanish woman. Very beautiful!
NO, She look like a Berber woman.
no she doesn't she looks like a truscan alabaster
She actually looks very much like a friend of mine from that same area of Spain!
@@greyLeicester I forgot to mention that the friend of mine who looks like her actually has reddish brown hair and green eyes, but the features are a dead ringer.
@@lindagarrido4353 She Iook Iike a typical Berber woman, with that berber hair style and Berber clothing.
The iberian hill tribes gave the romans some off their bloodiest battles.
I couldn’t stop staring at her eyes, the recreation took my breath away literally. I’ve watched these recreation videos many times. This one felt different
Wow, she's absolutely beautiful! And she does look Iberian, I'd say...
Your recreation is absolutely beautiful. The original is stunning. Both are beautiful pieces of art. Thank you for sharing.
And for those eager to jump in with the phrase , 'the statue was found the south of Spain therefore it is Punic. Let address this issue. According the Greek classical sources the Iberians are indigenous to the area; it is why we call Spain and Portugal as being the whole of Iberian peninsula. And yes the Carthaginians established trading posts. But the Greeks built colonies there as well as they also did in Southern coast of France. Neither makes France or Spain Punic or Greek
Thank you!!
Doesn't Punic relate to a certain period not a geographical area?
@@cindyphillips2551 no it does not. Strictly speaking it refers to geographic spot. A ignorant liberal and modern view is a time period. If we use the ancient sources as is without modern liberal reinterpretation we arrive at what is factual.
@@fredazcrate4362 Thanks for the response, Fred. I appreciate the info (although I'm still not sure where the geographic spot is) despite the rude tone ;)
@@cindyphillips2551 Location: North Africa in what is part Tunisia and Libia.
When the picture changed to the recreation, I held my breath, so beautiful thank you.
Beautiful woman of Iberia!
She is so beautiful, thank you for all your attention to history and of course, your recreations.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it

La Dama de Elche! I took a class about Spain's history through art when I was doing my MA in Spanish (one of the cultural classes I needed to take) and this statue was one of the first we studied. The color version was stunning.
this is not Spanish bust
@@messianic_scam ....
Then what is it.
@@lindatimmons3675
it has nothing to do with Spain what so ever it was moved ,they never had that kind of culture ,i believe it's etruscan alabaster looks alot like them
@@messianic_scamalabaster ? Isn't it already proven to be limestone ?
@@messianic_scamalso being 'nothing to do with spain' - there are many scholars that will dispute your 'facts'. People with actual postnominals, my friend. Not just a couch potato that's looking for an argument.
I love the way you bring these ancient souls to life with eye movements and/or smiles. Very well done.
She’s beautiful !
Before and after
Another awesome job. She's beautiful
What a beauty! Statue and recreation.
2500 yeas later, and she is still beautyfull
My heart! She's beautiful, you did a wonderful job.
The facial traits are those of a classical mediterranean woman, it's incredible how human beings didn't changed too much in some areas of the world, she could pass for a normal modern woman!
Dude.. humans don't change that much in less than 5,000 years... And they certainly do not go from monkeys to humans in 6 million or less years lmfao....
I think that the beauty has no time.
@@missfeliss3628 If you look to older photos you can see how common people has changed, better hygiene standards, better diet and also the easier communications (so more opportunities to marry out of your village) have surely contribuited to improve humans' aspect. Think that until 20th century there were a lot of semi-isolated communities, expecially in East Europe, but also in other European countries.
Some of the oldest European features.
Actually a lot has changed in our facial structure, weaker jaws chins less developed features in the modern era
Such a striking statue, whom ever she was in her day, regardless of the time gone bye. She is even more captivating. Have only one question for her, if only I could ask. Excellent recreation work!
Beautiful, I didn't know about that ancient piece, it's a wonderful discovery for me, and a very interesting job you did as usual...
There are works of art that are timeless, and this is one of them. I have the privilege of seeing it in Madrid. You were re-creations are beautiful and indicated that she was a beautiful woman Thank you so much I do follow your recreations often online
Beauty is timeless. Very interesting history and art lesson.
This is so beautiful...this reminds me of your other video about Nefertiti...Both Nefertiti and Lady of Elche would have been considered beauty standards in their times...that's why some artists spent so much time and effort to make their detailed sculptings...❤
Gorgeous! I hope archeologists will be able to unearth more information on this clearly elegant culture. The Lady of Elche reminded me of Amal Clooney.
The recreation reminded me of Kristin Scott-Thomas
Cartagena (near Elche) was originally a colony of Carthage called Carthago Nova, Carthage was in turn was a colony of Tyre (Phonecia) so we know quite a bit about their culture already,
@JcDaniel that is true but you an analyze the composition of stone itself to determine where it came from.
that doesn't prove where it was carved but it is safe to assume that it was carved near to where it was quarried.
She was stunning, one of my favourite ancient pieces.
I have visited the city of Elche many years back. I really enjoyed the Palm Garden. I wish I could visit Spain again i used to spend many happy summers in the town of Benidorm. 😊
This is an amazing channel ❣
Greetings from Tx🌵
La recreación coincide con la imagen de muchas españolas actuales. Tiene sentido. 🇺🇾
Absolutely love your videos!
Thank you!
What a great surprise. My son taught for 1 year at the local elementary school in Elche. Have seen a larger bust at the local park🌿
First time hearing about this statue, it’s so beautiful. But what most caught my attention was how the headdress style looks similar to the hairstyle of the indigenous Hopi women 😯
She is very beautiful. I've never heard of this statue, or the two others. Interesting.
This is stunning! I have seen a few recreations, but this is by far the most beautiful. Both in her original form and modern, she is captivating. I would LOVE to see a 360 degree view!
Amazing work. Love the history and theories. To be perfectly honest, I never contemplated wanting to be with a much, much, much older woman until now. 🤔 She was gorgeous just looking at the bust. 🥰 Thank you for bringing her to life in modern fashion. Love your voice for telling the stories.
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Stunning! And what elegant features!
Oh!!!. Its Teri Hatcher!!. Wow!!. She IS a time traveler from Atlantis!. I know!!..... Superman brought her from Krypton!. Lol!!!!
I HAD to click on this recreation. Ive seen many a video on this sculpture. And, yes, like you say, travelled down many a rabbit hole on this subject. She's stunning!. as well as the rest if your subjects!.
Seriously, tho, I LUV your work!!. Watched numerous videos. Actually, visually devoured them!. You bring a real sense of how and why these historical figures made such an impact on their times!. You can see the intensity in each of their appearances. I was immensely moved!. Better than any other "recreation" channel I've visited!!. Bravo!!. Definitely subbed!!.
You're work and historical views make the statues come alive. A true artiste!!
It's wonderful to see these old souls given life,I feel that for a split second, they see something, just fanciful thinking, but you do such fabulous work, thankyou 🌻
Atlantis, Iberian and Basque! All from one Lineage! Also cool the Modern version as in the Statue has a cleft in her chin like myself!!!
Yeah! I wanted to see her come alive! Thanks! Fascinating history. I had only learned a little. That there were remains of a person inside has my vote for who she was. She could have been royalty.
I am blown away with each and every presentation. You have incredible talent. Thank you for sharing your work.
Learn so much wonderful history! Enjoy seeing the old and modern day recreations! Thank you so much 😊
I wasn't familiar with this ancient statue, so I'm very intrigued. Excellent job on the "recreation".
First thing I thought was that the side "buns", they weren't "princess Lea" buns lol. But they look to be technological. Another thing I noticed was the statue appears to be looking down, which isn't shown in the recreation. The
"looking down" likely has something to do with the reason and the purpose of the statue.
Good work!
I know women who look identycal in modern Spain. Awesome.
This is so cool! WONDERFUL job!
This was a new part of history for me. I had never heard of her before. But I immediately thought I knew where the costumes for Princess Amadal (Star Wars) came from when I saw the image. Radio waves....Atlantis....? I could hear the smile in your voice before you even shared your opinion. Very beautiful piece and loved the way you brought her to life.
🙏❤🌞 I am so happy someone touched that subject. Beautifully done. Love and light ✨
It’s amazing how you make the recreations.
This was wonderful! So fascinating. Had no idea! Fantastic video.
This channel is fascinating, and has led me to take an interest in history - thanks.
it's very lovely but i really am taken by the added touch of the jewelry. it just brings an added smile to see the subtle pulling of the elements into the modern form. very nicely done.
This is absolutely stunning. Great presentation!

Wow awesome stuff can't get enough gets me emotional
I wonder if that's where they got idea for Princess Leia in Star Wars!
Love your channel! I have been binge watching them! Was wondering if you would do Viking Leif Erickson? Thx
Very, very nice! Outstanding work...
So beautiful, such a charming woman 😍
Lindo demais! A estatua é magnifica, e seu trabalho ficou maravilhoso.
To me she looks like Lydia Valentin, a Spanish female power lifter who as a native ethnic European may be one of her descendants.
Very interesting!
Tienes razón, su rostro guarda cierto parecido.
“Royalty Now” is my favorite. This should have its own Channel.
It is a beautiful statue and excellent presentation!
Amazing!
These are so amazing.
Excellent work!
Superb analysis. Many thanks. 👍🏽😘
Oh, breathtaking!!
I always enjoy your videos. I always end up learning something new from them. Have you done any of the old west outlaws and heroes? It would be really interesting to see them brought to life.
BTW, your narration is excellent! It’s smooth and professional and has a nice personable tone.
After your modern transformation, she resembled Selma Hayek to me. What a wonderful discovery!
Fantastic work! I have never heard of her.
This is so interesting! Thank you! 😊 ❤️
Can you do Akhanaten? He has such unique fascial features, would love to see a recreation of him.
Love that I found this channel. Great way to learn about historical figures exceptionally women - then add a modern connection. Excellent work!
Stunning
I saw the bust in a school trip to Elche long ago (around 18 years ago). I love your reconstruction! 😃
So stunning and breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous. Amazing video. Thank you so much. I love all your videos. My greetings.
Thank you! So very happy you enjoyed it ❤️
Lovely work and history. The modern recreation makes me think of Sean Young.

A really great video! The statue is very beautiful, especially the modern recreation. I also appreciate you sticking to the facts and avoided the Atlantis angle, 😂. I will watch more of your videos!
