    What I find amazing, is that I can listen to 4 different people speak on the same subject, but when You cover the same information, your speaking points come through in a manner that lets me relate immediately. Through You ... my son and I have learned to tig-weld aluminum with confidence. Thank You ...

    look forward to watching more videos man. I loved your explanations on why you use different settings. The only thing that would have made this a 10/10 video is to show penetration on the underside of the weld. I'm sure there was b/c it sounds like you tweak your machine and understand it well.

    Thanks for another quality video. I have a question about welding square aluminum tubing, 1/8" wall. I am building a ladder rack for a trailer and I have always struggled to find a good setup for fillet welds. I am using an HTP 221 w/ 3/32 2% laminated tungsten, I am unsure about what frequency to use and haven't found a great cup size, any suggestions? The aluminum is 6061 that I clean with acetone and red scotchbrite pad and I have not beveled the corners. Thanks I look forward to your next video.

    • @5thStreetFab
      @5thStreetFab  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks man! Sounds like a great setup! I would just set the hz at 120 and leave it also dont use red scotch brite! Itll contaminate the weld. Use a stainless steel wire brush. They have some that are the size of a tooth brush that are perfect! I would say either a standard number 5 or gas lens 7. Those are my 2 go to cups. Set your gas flow around 15 cfh and balance around 65-70% and you should be set!

  • @appalachianchopshop1420

    Great video esp on the 5052. On the htp tig 221 do you like it better than the dynasty? Been looking at both. The dynasty seems to have a slight bit more adjustments but I'm not sure it 1600.00 better. I haven't really heard anything bad on either. Seems like htp will get parts out quicker and walk you through the repair versus miller. My local miller dealer said they do not repair any tig or plasma machines they take them to other shops for repair. Turn around was 6 to 8 weeks on a warranty repair...not good

    • @5thStreetFab
      @5thStreetFab  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! I run the dynasty at work and 221 at home. I like the htp better but they weld almost identical. And they are great to work with

    Do you use hot start and ramp functions with Tig aluminium. Do you uses these functions when tacking. Did you use 2T or 4T. Thanks for a really helpful video.

    Do you have any tips to help with the width of the etch zone? I have tried to adjust Frequency and Balance, but neither seem to change the width. I have also tried adjusting gas flow, #5 cup with non gas setup.

    • @5thStreetFab
      @5thStreetFab  Před 3 lety

      Its usually just a combination of gas flow and balance. Turn your gas way down to where it starts getting dirty and then slowly turn it up maybe 1 or 2 cfh at a time until its clean enough to weld with and it should be as good as you can get
