I subscribed to this channel a long time ago. And advised it to all of my friends. This is one of my favorite. I love Dionysus myths. Thank you so much for it.

Thanks for sharing our work with your friends, Ozymandias, and for being one of our first subscribers too! Word of mouth is the best promotion an artistic performance can have! Glad you love the theme of the song, too! In so many aspects, Dionysus was a controversial god of Greek mythology, leaving so much room for different artistic approaches and interpretations.

ugh. this song keeps finding me and i keep finding new reasons why i am so grateful for that very fact. a very long time ago i found myself caught in a powerful draw toward Bacchus Dionysus. I don't think there has been one day, in those 30 years where I have awoken, and not seen or felt his presence.

It's crazy how suggestive music is. Even if we don't know the title of this piece we can feel something is amiss, the patterns can't be followed easily and we aren't allowed to get comfortable; we don't know what will happen next or how quickly. It feels all just not quite right but at the same time you know it's telling you something if not straightforward somehow still coherent - but you feel afraid if you start listening you might get lost and not find your way back out...Or if you do, you might not be the same. And improvised too? Amazing

I would bet that if ancient Athenians heard your music, they would recognize it as their own.

An actual Bacchian cult melody from antiquity or an impression? Either way, excited to hear.

I am reading Nietzsche’s Birth of Tragedy. Your music, rather Dionysian both in spirit and moniker.. I find synchronistic.

Is this Double Syrinx not the same as the Double Reed Aulos? May I know the tuning (mode) of the lyre strings? I heard a diminished 5th (or augmented 4th perhaps) too, so a bit confused about the mode. Anyway, I was completely mesmerized by the heavenly performance.
I have subscribed to this channel being an admirer of old ancient music, these videos supplement me with lots of resource materials.

Thanks for your amazing comment, J B Rupam, and for being an active subscriber to the SEIKILO Ancient World Music channel!
Concerning your question, the double syrinx is different from the double-reed aulos, with the main difference being the absence of reeds on the former! :)
As for the lyre's tuning, it is a 9strings lyre tuned like this:
      F G G# B C C# D# F G
Stay tuned, as more highly engaged videos are on their way, with additional video shootings taking place every month! :)
