    Actually I did buy this for my wife at Christmas. It also works great as a spare machine to keep in my vehicle for unexpected digs. I appreciate that you always emphasize proper etiquette in you videos - great examples given. Mine Lab should give out free piggy banks for clad with every ML XTP purchase :)
    Keep up the great work, Mark! Thanks!

    What pin pointer do you use and does the detector have pin pointing and can i use a regular plug in head set? I would love to get this machine but can not afford all the wireless headphone stuff. Love the vid though very well put together and informational. Thnk you.

    • @54cal54

      Looks like a XP mi-6 pinpointer. The detector does have pinpointing and yes you can use wired headphones with a 3.5mm plug, it's not waterproof though.

    Hello, could you provide information about the maximum depth this machine can detect metal or gold? . thank you

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Před 3 měsíci

      The maximum depth really depends on the size of the item or Target and the size of the coil on the machine those are two major factors. Generally speaking you can detect a coin size object at a distance that is the length of the search coil Plus the width of the search coil divided by two. I hope this makes sense. Larger targets can be heard deeper and smaller targets are not as easily detected. This machine has very good depth for this budget range and is absolutely one of the best machines that you can buy at this price this includes depth of detection. Thank you for your view and for your question!

    • @digginnorcal2770
      @digginnorcal2770 Před 4 měsíci +2

      No need to factory reset when changing coils all you do is change coils and your good to go

    • @digginnorcal2770
      @digginnorcal2770 Před 4 měsíci +1

      But it also depends on what kind of metal detector you have??

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It looks like others I've already answered this for you, so no need to do a factory reset when you change your coil. I will say that just so you know you can use Equinox coils on your Xterra Pro but not the other way around. In other words your Equinox detector will not recognize the extra Pro coil. Thank you for the view and for your great question!

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Před 2 měsíci

      I own and use them all at different times. I have Minelab Profind 35's, Garrett AT Pro pointers, Deus MI-6, Fisher F-Pulse and Nokta Accupoint. I would have to go back and watch the video to see what pain point I was using on the day that I made that video. Thank you for the view and for your comment / question!

    Hey Mark i have the Minelab X-Terra Pro machine also and i love it but i don't turn the threshold on cause it is annoying to listen to but i have found some good stuff with it

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah one thing that I should have pointed out in the video it is not a true threshold so they're almost as really no reason to have it on unless you want to hear the threshold brakes over iron so that you know when you're in heavy iron. But some people just can't handle the constant sound of a threshold no matter how useful it is. I totally get that! Thank you for leaving a comment and for your view!

  • @SeregaKusj
    @SeregaKusj Před 3 měsíci +1

    hi, strange situation with x-terra pro, it seems that this detector doesn't see large targets made of aluminum, brass, copper and other non-iron metals! can you check this?

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you for the view and comment/question! This sounds like there is a problem with the coil not being plugged/screwed in all the way, or another problem with coil damage or perhaps machine damage? This machine excels at detecting large conductive targets and they will sound off loudly!! Please contact your dealer and see if that can help you troubleshoot your problem. This is not normal at all!

    • @SeregaKusj
      @SeregaKusj Před 2 měsíci

      @@BrassMedic how big items you checked? problem not only with my detector, a lot of people have already noticed this... for example, ww2 aluminum flask, x-terra pro see only on 5kHz, on 10 and 15 no any reaction, non ferrous metals targets, larger than flask, not visible at all frequency!

      No!! Not really. I'm not sure what's going on maybe you have your sensitivity up too high? It seems this machine really likes it sensitivity down around 20. You might be in an area where there's a lot of nails as well which can show up with high numbers I just don't know how to diagnose your problem without being there. It is a fantastic machine very capable and it will find treasure I highly recommend it to everybody. But I just don't know how to answer your question. Thank you for the view and for your comment!
