Their concerts are so much fun! I have seen them twice in small (Less than 700 capacity) venues. A couple of rows back from the stage, 10 out of 10. I highly recommend!.

I’ve only had the pleasure of seeing them once so far but they are as good live as some of the great live bands I’ve seen. Bands like Rush, Yes, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, etc. Those bands sound great and put on a great show, and so does Band Maid. Entertaining as hell even between songs. In fact no band I’ve seen is nearly as good between songs as they are! Language barrier = meaningless.
The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Thanks, Johnathan, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!
Akane is one of those few drummers where you can listen to a song and just concentrate on what she's playing and be perfectly happy. I've only been on this journey for 2 1/2 years and she has got better and better in that time, it's getting ridiculous.
YES, THIS IS HOW THEY SOUND LIVE. I caught them in Minneapolis, last year. Lightning and thunder, for two hours.
Freedom is one of the happiest songs you'll ever hear. These ladies make up one of the best, if not the best, live bands on the planet. They are one of those rare groups that sound better live, always exuding pure joy and energy. Hope you react to their official live videos of Domination, Play, Moratorium in the near future. Cheers!

@@Xxbirdman1775xX Thanks for your comment. The reason of the commemoration is coming from a pun in our language. One of the readings of figure 10 is "toh" in Japanese. So "May 10" can be read "May-toh" that sounds like "Maid". So Band-Maid says "May 10 is The Day Of Maid". This hilarious invention was by Miku, the co-vocalist / rhythm guitarist and the founder of the band. 🤣
This was my FIRST Band Maid video in 2021 ! I was ABSOLUTELY floored at not just the talent...it was the outstanding ability to consistently craft melodies ! No yelling, no screaming, no unintelligible angry angst filled rants...amazing riffs and FLAWLESS transitions are standard practices with the Maids ! Finding them is like winning a musical lottery ! Pick a song and enjoy the ride ! ♥️😁
Band Maid Live is that good.... I have seen them 4 times and every show was awesome.... I would put them in the same class as other great live shows like Rush, Journey , ZZ Top , Joe Banamassa ect.... they are the real deal ....
I caught them live in Chicago in 2022 and in St. Louis in 2023. They DO sound like that live! By the way, at a performance in Paris (I believe), Jimmy Page actually sought out Akane (drummer) to get a photo with her, because he though she was the embodiment of John Bonham! How many drummers can say that Jimmy Page sought them out for a photo op?
Yes they sound this good live. I saw them in Phoenix in Oct 2022 and we and they had so much fun. They really rock.

Akane doesn't do a lot of featured drum solos, but she's got so many fills and pattern changes in some songs (especially later in their career) it's like she's secretly soloing while everyone else plays. MISA (bass) is the same way, some of the moving basslines she casually plays are bonkers. And they do it without taking away from the song! It's like they're putting in easter eggs for careful listeners to find.

They are every bit this good live! I saw them last summer and it was up there with my first Led Zeppelin concert in 1969. These ladies are amazing in concert, and they are always smiling and joking around with eachother and yet, never miss a beat. If you have a chance to see them live and don't, you don't deserve to ever see a concert again.
On the scale of drum solos for Akane (A-ka-nay, Dr, half-Gorilla), this one is #2 in my book. The #1 was her freestyle solo into "Blackhole" (220 bpm) performed at the same venue as your "Hate?" reaction (song #27 of 33 (3.5 hrs)). #3 is the show opener into "Rinne" at Line Cube Shibuya 2020 (Hard to find live recording but its out there in the dark corners of the interweb), Po! 🦍🍌

They are like this in concerts. You can't go wrong with any of their official live videos. There are also acoustic versions of some songs. To complete the concert experience, search for "Omajinai Time", the audience participation thing Miku does to keep the entertainment going while Saiki rests her voice. "It's the most important time during okyu-ji."

5:33, the most talent driven part of this whole song, when Misa just lays in those uber-sweet dual tones on the bass, followed by straight up driving eighth notes. Tasteful as all hell.
I’ve seen them live twice in the states. I think they sound even better in person than the official live recordings. Depends on acoustics of course, but they are this good live.
Yup! this is an actual LIVE sound. Of course, there's a little post production but it's definitely not a live video over studio audio. I've seen them LIVE 3x already and Saiki, the lead vocalist, is almost always on key! She is very rarely pitchy ever!
"Domination" live was the "Go To" clip for new reactors before "Hate" came along.
Give that a go then try "Onset" live - an instrumental just to show you what they get up to when the singer (Saiki) has a break.
These are some earlier ones - but awesome ones at that.
You like drums, your gonna love these guys - then again, you like the Bass - same, Guitar - same an so on.

These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band: You may later want to watch the wondeful documentaries by Ohrenje!
I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss their instruments From now on (MV) or Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' band Maiko ;-)
But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ...
Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (Pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset").

These girls are the real thing. Musicianship too good to be true. I fell for them about 4 years ago flew down to Houston then a week later to see them in New York. Yes they can create this sound on stage. By the way many of the official live videos have closed captions. Hate is a powerful break up song with stinging words. Everyone thinks this is a happy song. It’s another break up number. She is looking for ‘freedom” wants to do it “my way my way my way” get it?
