Wow! Thank you for this video Bev. This all makes perfect sense. I bet that is a lot healthier than the luncheon meat you buy pre-made or SPAM meat anyway. At least I know how to make lunch meat now. Times may get tougher before they get better. Just goes to show that you are never too old to learn something new. This 51 year old is gonna try making lunch meat 😁
Well, I am impressed!! I am in awe!! I didn't know this could be done. That looked so delicious and healthy. Will this method work for turkey ham or beef? Turkey with sage/rosemary. Beef with cumin/steak seasoning. Ham... My mind is a whirl! Thank you very much, it's genius!🥰
I remember you doing a lunch meat video years ago…. We need this now more then ever! “They” are either trying to starve us or break us… maybe both! Thank goodness for knowing how to cook and bake. Xx ❤
Our Dearest Mrs. Volfie, you look absolutely marvelous in the early morning. Thank you for this video, it will come in handy. And thank you for the time you took to make it, even in the early morning hours. It's greatly apprecited. God Bless
I’ve never seen anybody make us lunch meat before and I never would’ve thought about doing it. Has to be much healthier than the stuff you buy in the store and so much cheaper. Didn’t even notice your PJs are inside up but I’m sure somebody would’ve and commented on it. You’re smart to say it first!
Looks good. My father us from England. He was a farmer and took his lunch to the field in the mornings. He always buttered his bread. Then added condiments. We grew up eating sandwiches this way. Not common for Americans. But first generation americans, it was common for us.
It looks beautiful. I have a case of Knox gelatin that I bought to make sure I wouldn't run out. Next food bank haul I'm making your recipe for homemade lunch meat.
This is my first time ever to see anyone make lunchmeat like this. Love it. BUT, best of all, I am so affirmed today by your putting mayo OVER butter. That's exactly how my mom always taught me with this same explanation. My husband and all the kids tend to think I'm bonkers when I do it, and hearing you say it too made me so happy!
LOL! how I LOVED this one. Yes... inside out jammies, barely awake and still up to make hubby his lunch. Ive done this same routine for nearly 4 decades now. HOWEVER! I never made my own lunch meat! Well that changes as of today! Thank you sweet friend for broadening my horizons and helping to make even more use of the beautiful meats we raise. Blessings to you!
I butter the bread because it tastes good. The lunch meat is genius, I am looking forward to making it. Many have no idea what gelatin is. Thank you ❤️😁🌺
I never knew you could do this! Thanks for sharing, I'm going to try it. I had to laugh (not judge) about your pajamas, I've gone out in public with my top on inside out!
I recall you doing a similar thing awhile back. I had lost the recipe I copied from that video, during one of my spring cleaning days. I accidentally threw out the card. I had made mines from a rotisserie chicken our Sons did. It lasted only one day. Yep. Folks was stopping by to see the fridge 😅.. So, thanks for sharing AGAIN!! 😊😉
Oh you! Let's not get him use to eating a thick slice of lunch meat.😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Economic times are too hard for spoiling anybody with thick slices of lunch meat.
Bev: "Don't judge me, it's 5.30 in the morning and my pyjamas are on inside out" Me: I,... I'm not, I'm trying to not piss myself laughing because I just realised that mine are too lol
a couple of thrify things i did today. i darned 3 worn out sock heels. a good wool sock only takes 15 min. to darn, $20 a pair to buy new. i cut the bottom of a plastic tube that held medicine for my cat. there is quite a bit that you can't squeeze out , no matter how hard you try, i got 5 more doses! done the same with plastic squeeze containers, there are 3 adults in our household. when i make dinner, before i serve, i pack my hubbys lunch and an extra lunch for the freezer, then i portion out for dinner. if i left the leftovers out, everything would be gone by clean-up. then wed is usually leftover night and i always have a lunch in the freezer for emergencies.
Since these crazy prices have skyrocketed out of nowhere, we are not buying cold cut’s anymore as they are as high as some meats. We are buying flats of tuna, turkeys, chicken, when on sale. We roast & cut up the turkey and chicken and freeze dry it. Reconstituted tastes like when you cooked it. Turkey, chicken salad sandwiches or burritos! Same with the eggs. We have a farmer we buy organic eggs from. We scramble the eggs 15-18 per tray and freeze dry it.
Butter seals the bread so not much soaks thru to make the bread soggy. Mayo does make bread soggy,it soaks thru.Hence butter your bread lightly, then add mayo, mustard etc
Thanks for showing us how it’s done Bev. My son had asked me about making lunch meat in the summer. The recipe he brought me was far too fussy. Pulling chicken out of the freezer now.
Looks good I make chicken sandwiches with leftovers also will cook off the bones and any meat that falls off I feed my animals helps stretch their food also so does help me save some $ I always give my chickens/ ducks meat in the winter to help keep them warmer I never made it that way will be trying that with my next chicken I cook we eat a lot of sandwiches in the summer
I had to laugh at your comment about your nightdress on inside out how many times I put my pyjama tee shirt on inside out or back to front and I even have the light on 🤪
Definitely trying this. It reminds me of how we make souse (hog head cheese) in Western Kentucky. I don't know why I never considered using another kind of meat. And I have a gown I wear inside out, because the seams are itchy 😊
Bev, I’ve given up on the outskirts of Seattle Washington. I’m buying a one way ticket to Maui where I’ve a ton of Hawaiian/Tongan blood. There’s a big family farm to help run, wild hogs to process and coffee beans all Kona. It’s time I warm my bone’s forever and lift my hands to the warm Maui skies and thank my lord Jesus Christ for the tropical heaven on earth. Can’t wait to be with my family 🏝✈️
@@OurHalfAcreHomestead oh miss Bev, as soon win back established baby girl, you Howie and Gracie will have round trip tickets to come party with ice water on the beach with me. I’ll take you and your crew “the wrong way) to the other side of the island of Maui. There we can hitup Costco. Would you and Howie pass up on a free trip? You just gotta love a woman who can make her husband’s lunch and do a video at 5:30 AM. Bev you are impressive. Love ya. ❤
That is a great idea, i have to try it. Think I will make it in my silicone loaf pan so its the same size as the bread thanks for another great video.

Unflavored gelatin really doesn't matter where it came from
I bought a baked chicken already cooked, and I made chicken salad with my leftovers it was delicious,,
Definitely healthier!!! No nitrates for one. I wanna try chicken or roast beef now
if you do roast beef? Make the boiling water with a beef boullion cube for more flavour!
I have never seen that done. Thanks so much!
I did a video a few years back... but every now and again it bears repeating for the new folks!
