  • How to build a gravel shed pad - Here I build a large shed pad (26' x 20'). For the foundation I use 6x6 timbers and 3/4 stone. This could be a DIY project but I suggest having help if you can.

    Yes I am going to troll every video lol at least I'm watching.
    Use nail stakes on the inside of the posts. The spikes are not going to hold at all. They may be 2" in the ground at most.

    So no mention of how you came to properly level the 3/4 stone? Doesn’t that have to be level before you can make the floor level?

    Helpful video. I'm planning on doing this as well for a 12x16 shed down here by Mullica Hill. I'll be doing it by hand - it's about 3.5 cubic yards of gravel that I'll need for a 4" thick gravel bed (that's a little larger than shed footprint). Fun times ahead. I need to lose some weight anyway. - John

    I think I might have just pushed that cart hard and fast at the trailer then just hopped outta the way, make sure to film it. It's either genius or something you can laugh it either way.

    Do you have a video of the shed build ? I am planning in doing a similar size also 2 stories but having doubts about just using gravel , thinking of doing CMU blocks

      I don't have a video of a shed. But I did make a video on a 24 x 24 garage build. Here's the link czcams.com/video/kVgzSD0u6ZI/video.htmlfeature=shared Thanks for watching

    I have a question. So I don’t need to compact the stone? I am going to build a pad for a 12 or 14 x 24 shed. I was thinking of going with 3 inches of three-quarter stone and using landscaping ties for my perimeter, my ground is very level, but there is grass and weeds on it. Any advice you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

      @srmcontracting  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I would remove all the grass and put down Geo stabilization fabric. The 3/4" clean stone is 95% compacted as is so it will be fine not compacting it.

    Any chance you’d share what you charged for this pad?

    To bad that you didn't have a grading bucket to do that

      It's on "the list" I think I will eventually get a grading tilt bucket for this machine. Thanks for watching

    Any reason you didn't you compact it?

    • @srmcontracting
      @srmcontracting  Před 7 měsíci

      The shed builders said they were going to take care of it. Plus 3/4 clean stone is 95% compacted on its own so I wouldn't expect it to settle anyway

    my yard is not level. how do you make it flat and level?

    • @mr.stirfry9310
      @mr.stirfry9310 Před rokem

      Digging or you can raise.

    • @mr.stirfry9310
      @mr.stirfry9310 Před rokem

      Say pouring a slab, on all sides I would want an even base so I would dig in say 4 inches and line that with gravel. Level the gravel out, build a form, put rebar down. Make sure everything is level and correct and pour. You can order dirt to level the part of the yard you are using as well.
      Best advice would be contact a landscaping company with questions.
