WOLVES
THE HOWLIN’ MOON WOULD CRY
I’D SLEEP THE SUN AWAY
I WAS JUST A CHILD
I KNEW I WAS AFRAID
THERE WAS NOTHIN’ TO GAIN I FOUND
BY RUNNIN’ THE OTHER WAY
I HAD TO STAND MY GROUND
AND KEEP THE WOLVES AT BAY
WELL I KNEW SOMEHOW
THERE WOULD COME A DAY
SO I STOOD MY GROUND
KEPT THE WOLVES AT BAY
WOULD NOT TAKE NO MORE
HAD MY FILL
STARS HAD FADED FROM MY EYES
AND RUN FROM LOOKS THAT KILL
THERE WAS NO ONE COMIN’ AROUND
TO SAVE ME FROM THE FRAY
I HAD TO STAND MY GROUND
AND KEEP THE WOLVES AT BAY
BUT I KNEW SOMEHOW
THERE WOULD COME A DAY
WHEN I STOOD MY GROUND
KEPT THE WOLVES AT BAY
WELL I KNEW SOMEHOW
THERE WOULD COME A DAY
SO I STOOD MY GROUND
KEPT THE WOLVES AT BAY
YEARS HAVE GONE BY
THE CALLIN’ CARRIES ON
SCARS ABOVE MY EYE
ARE TENDER TO THE BONE
AND THOUGH I’VE SETTLED DOWN
I HEAR THE CHILDREN SAY
YOU HAVE TO STAND YOUR GROUND
AND KEEP THE WOLVES AT BAY
WELL I KNEW SOMEHOW
THERE WOULD COME THE DAY
WHEN I STOOD MY GROUND
KEPT THE WOLVES AT BAY
WELL I KNEW SOMEHOW
THERE WOULD COME THE DAY
SO I STOOD MY GROUND
KEPT THE WOLVES AT BAY - Hudba
Thank you to the creators of Yellowstone for casting Ryan and giving those of us who didn't know his music the chance to hear it. I'm a huge fan now.
Ha.. didn't even know he was in Yellowstone.
Same! i love the songs. esp this one, really resonates with where my life is at right now
Just a suggestion, if you haven’t had an opportunity to watch Crazy Heart, might watch it and also listen to the soundtrack. RB is like no other. His stuff just makes your bones feel at peace.
@@justEdencinchyourheart I will have to give it another watch. It has been a while. Thanks!
Obsessed with his music now. Would have never heard it had it not been for the Yellowstone series.
Glad Yellowstone brought me to Ryan Bingham.
Right there with you my friend
Shit if he would have got this exposer from crazy heart would you imagine?
Me too. Heard a couple songs but Yellowstone made me look his music up.
Me too
He reminds me of how Chris Ledoux became popular after Garth Brooks mentioned him in the song “much too young to feel this damn old”
IF THIS AIN'T COWBOY MUSIC I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS STRAIGHT CHRIS LEDOUX YOU GOTTA IT!!! MR. RYAN
I’m 117 years old and this is good music.
Who was a fan of Ryan Bingham before Yellowstone like here! He’s had my support from a central Texas cowboy!
He played Beto Oroukes free concert and then magically blew up and landed a spot on Yellowstone. How convenient.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing the same Ryan post Yellowstone as pre Yellowstone. Damn he can ride though
Crazy Heart
Crazy Heart for me as well. Missed his show at Gruene Hall pre-pandemic. Hopefully the next time he is nearby I can make a show.
Don't watch tv
Ryan Bingham is probably one of the coolest dudes alive
I am my friends
Love this picker! Yellowstone is great for turning watchers into fans.
I been following this guy for yrs now he is talented I hate to say that I think him being on Yellowstone and this ruined his marriage but I bet there's some more hits after his healing.
I’m 70 years old and John Prine and I grew old together…he the artist and me the fan. With his recent passing a void was left in my heart. At my age I had lamented there would be no one out there to fill that void. Listen, there will never be another John Prine but when I discovered Ryan Bingham just recently I feel the void in my heart is being filled. What an amazing talent! I have downloaded Ryan’s entire catalog and have been “binge listening” ever since. What an amazing talent…raw, pure and unique.
Absolutely agree.. I am 70 as well and when I first heard him..saw him..watched him..I was drawn to his music..his aura..his pain..and yes, he fills a void.
Nice words gentlemen. Very true.
I agree with you to the hill......John prime will never disappear, you and both know what's in our hearts and soul , memories, are thankfully always with us.......stand your ground, I am trying to do just that.....in love music peace..... your sister in harmony..... Sunshine Daydream✌️✌️🎶🎶🎼🌈🌈🌈☮️😎
@ Sunshine….there is a meme floating around the internet that describes some of us: “Some of us were born with music in our veins, where even silences between notes are felt…..and the words pulse thru our very souls.”
Totally agree. Was listening to Prine before I was drafted in '72. Spent years listening and understanding the legend he was. Now we have a new singer/songwriter to enjoy and fill the void. Ryan is amazing and we should enjoy this to the fullest. I will, every day. My son, age 38, and my grandson, age 17, both have discovered him on their own - something we 3 can experience and enjoy as we grown older together.
That rusty voice is magic
Good or bad well I guess at the end of the day magic is not good so I'm guessing your saying magic in the negative way???
Idk that's why I'm asking
@@ajnunez2989 this is a little late but he means it in a good way, or at least it’s generally accepted as a good thing for something to be called magic. It like calling something charming or enchanting (to that degree at least)
They made an entire movie based on one of his songs. Crazy heart was the best advertisement for Ryan.
U tried to stand my ground remember nobody helps it's on you but when you love no one can hurt your you won't let them I love being a mom I love my sons
Been listening to him for 11-12 years. Waiting for others to catch up. Thank you, Yellowstone, he deserves the accolades.
I grew up I'm the south boston projects. A tough tough naborhood. No dad,No order brother to protect me.A good kid.had to be vicious even when I was afraid. This song talks to me.brings alot of emotion up.Great song
HEY, that's the guy from Yellowstone! Haha, what a trip. I had no idea.
Who else was a fan of Ryan Bingham before Yellowstone?
Yellowstone is one hell of a good show
Gotta wait till June of 2021 for season 4😕
@@zachfarley3875 I KNOW! THIS SUCKS.
It reminds me of me childhood growing up
best show on tv right
@@Hitstix420 ABSOLUTELY! ties breaking bad in my opinion
Yesssssssssssss Yellowstone lovers here
,Love his music. Think he is the sexiest man alive, and I’m 75. Smiles!
This is truth. Children who are abused literally see their caregivers turn into wolves. It makes sense why fairy tales have wolves. It happened to me and obviously to Ryan.
Man I hear you. Why and the hell have we not heard this artist on the radio?
É sempre assim amigo, os bons nunca tocam nas radios
Music industry is too controlled. Personally, 90% of what’s on the radio is straight up trash. And the “country” stations don’t even play country music. Play pop music. Pop garbage. Check out T Usrey- newer guy. He’s incredible. 👍🏼👍🏼
I been following this guy for about 8 years now. So happy the show gave him the recognition he deserves
Here because of yellowstone...lol country really isn't my go to genre of music but this....this is great. Not that watered down bullshit. This is raw, this is real.....this is music
"Karma comes in all shapes and sizes- looks like it's me today."
That line made a lasting impression on me since he said it. Dam good show🇺🇸
My favorite
This f**king place, magnet for everything that's wrong with this f**king world
I love Ryan Bingham's raspy voice. This guy Brett McDaniel has that rasp style as well. czcams.com/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/video.html man Ryan is a great singer and songwriter.
"Y'all best hold him"
Been following him for years, was shocked to see him on Yellowstone
Damn I didn’t even realize this was him on the show. Guess he really was singing and playing the guitar lol
He was also in the movie Hostiles.
Same here. First episode I saw him I told my wife who he was she didn’t believe me so she looked him up
When I first saw Walker i was like 🤨…. 😵😵😵. Holy Sh!t.. it’s R Bingham!! I like this show even more than I already did! Guys truly amazing musician
We have all been following him for years James!
My grandpa died and left our family ranch to me. I’m the 7th generation to own it and it’s been in our family since the homesteading act back in the 1800s. I never realized how much money and time it takes to keep and protect it. Guess it’s my time to keep the wolves away now and I’m ready for it
Thank you Yellowstone
Love your music Ryan. Helps us Vets on those bad nights
Brother you ain't lying. HOOYAH!!
Y’all are hero’s and never forget it!!
Thank you for your sacrifice. Hope it gets easier and tolerable. Hope you find piece!!!
Don't dwell on it
Move on brother
Damn I was thinking about that. 😢
Shocked half of the people didn't know who he was till Yellowstone. I haven't seen one episode been listening to Ryan since day one ✌
True story for me , I was gang stalked in my home town , I took my last 50 went to Florida worked my ass off moved my family and over came every obstacle in my way….
We played this song at my best friends funeral. Still on my mind, god be with him and us all.
🙏
Agreed 100%

A little bit of bob Dylan in his voice😍😍😍🙏
My favorite Mexican American country guy... love ya Walker🇺🇸🇲🇽
Yes he is! Love his music
Some country is poetry of the heart. Bless you Ryan, this heartsong is so relatable.
I was a fan before Yellowstone. Love his sound.
This song is the Personification of 20+ yes of military service. IYKYK
Love your voice man. Finding your music was an unexpected blessing from watching Yellowstone. All the best.
I can sleep, I can dance, I can sing, I can eat, I can hike, I can sit and do nothing listening to you 🙌
Nezzy A. Castro And I've done every one of those things jamming his music. Salut!
I was brought here by years of listening to Ryan Bingham. And the only Yellowstone I’ve seen is the park a couple of hours away.
So many try to keep the "wolves" at bay!
Started watching Yellowstone recently I feel in love with Ryan Bingham singing..and was so surprised to no he is from New Mexico
I just discovered this young man..I pray for him..to keep his soul safe.
A remarkable story, talent and he embodies something mysterious and alluring.
Had to stand my ground-to keep the wolves at bay…
Isn’t it awesome all of us that can connect through pain and suffering with the captivating sound of his music from such a raw voice. Anyone that can not resonate with this has never truly struggled a day in the real world
Thank you creators of Yellowstone for allowing me to pretend I listened to this guy for years.
EXACTLY, like all the other CZcamsrs!
EXACTLY, like all the other CZcamsrs!
I’ve had a rough 2022….. this is my theme song for the year, and keeps me going. THANK YOU Ryan. 🙏
Likewise.
Stay strong. You are worth it.
I hope that things get better and the New Year treats you better 🙏🤗
Me too!
I never enjoyed country music until I heard Owen Benjamin sing a cover of this song which led me here.
This man is fantastic.
I'm surprised so few Americans here in the comments knew Ryan. Back in 2010 his "Weary Kind" earned him an Academy Award (Oscar), a Golden Globe Award and a Critic's Choice Award for "Best Song". In the same year the Americana Music Association honoured him with the top award "Artist of the Year". In 2011 "Weary Kind" got him a Grammy. His voice is painfully beautiful. If there's someone who carries his wounded soul in his voice it's him. He knows tragedy and hard life very well (his mother drank herself to death and his father died by suicide. "Never Far Behind" from his Tomorrowland album is about his parents.) It's rare these days to hear such genuine artists.
wow O_o
My son Antony a true wolf 🐺 I love you with all my wolf heart you are the best thing I ever had thank you for you I am so so proud of my wolf Antony sonny Montero u ate my heart I love u so
I first heard this when I was 7 months pregnant & my daughter would kick & kick. Now she’s almost 2 weeks old & it’s the only song that calms her down ❤❤
Even though this was released 4 years ago, Ryan i thank you for releasing it on my birthdate/day! Yellowstone gave me a reason to love a music genre that i used to hate. Love your work!
Oi ...eu sou do Brasil!! E estou amando Yellowstone! 🤠
Ryan Bingham, a real American Treasure who gets only better with age. This song is about standing up to bullies. Good job Ryan!

Yellowstone lead me here - I am grateful.
We’re all lost, just trying to find our way through this thing called life.
One of the reasons why I love the Yellowstone series so much! Greetings from Germany!
you Europeans seem really like cowboy culture
Best thing about Yellowstone is the music!!
I was working for this rancher who is in his mid thirties. We were talking cowboy music and I told him about Ryan. He chuckled and said "Taylor Sheridan made him". I laughed in his face and told him "never heard the Weary kind eh, Ryan Bingham has been around for a long time. Since Taylor was just an actor".
Wild it took Yellowstone for people to know he’s a master musically , lyrically and spiritually.
Ryan, I’m sorry to say that my introduction to you came from Yellowstone but I’m so glad I found you. I wish you the best on the show but, more importantly, in your art as a musician. You have so much give us from both genres and I look forward to supporting your career as it continues-undoubtedly in continued success. God bless you, brother. You deserve it.
There's no shame in discovering an artist you like through a TV show. I found a lot of my favorite bands through video game and TV soundtracks. We're just glad you're here
Omg I love this dude I was so happy that kasey let him go and didn't kill him
Rip was so fucking angry with him because of his flert with Beth. But Casey did the right thing, indeed.
Casey just better stay out of Rips way or Rip will take them both for a ride to the train station LOL

Best part of Yellowstone for me is finding this dudes music. Amazing :)
What a fantastic singer, voice. Looking in from Ireland 🇮🇪 .
Yellowstone is the best TV show right now ❤
Thank you Mia Celeste for always emerging yourself in my poetry! Mia, you are an amazing artist and I can’t wait to see and hear 👂 the many endeavors and successes in your life and in music 🎶

Would you believe I’ve been smashing Ryans music on Spotify for months and watched all of Yellowstone. Never CZcamsd him … did today and was blown away that its Walker on Yellowstone 😂🤦🏼♂️
Wow didnt expect that voice, he sounds like the older generation of country music stars
The guitar he is playing is just as beautiful as the performance.
what guitar is that?
@@mikev1522 it's a Gibson Century of Progress. It's from 1934 I believe
I'm new to Ryan's music but I'm madly passionately in love with it.

That’s too bad. Been listening to him since south side of heaven first came out and didn’t even know he was on Yellowstone til a while back.
I relate to Ryan and Rip the most off the show. Man Ryan’s music speaks to me, speaks everything I could never put into words
My favorite character on Yellowstone
All the angels are gone son, there’s only devils.
I love a singer that you can understand the words. Keep up the great work Ryan
I’ve never been into country music but this man is absolutely the best musician I’ve ever heard thanks mate your awesome 👏 💪🇦🇺👍
This is not country, is Americana and Roots rock.
@@ulucio86 OK 👍
@@ulucio86 this is definitely country
He's great. Check out colter wall, sturgill Simpson and chris Knight.
@McLovin
As a county music fan among other genres, this ain't Country music.
The other comment was correct about his music being Americana.
I don't think you need to disable the down vote. Who in their right mind would down vote this beautiful song?
Ryan and Laine.... they got that pop from Yellowstone and I couldn't be happier
No way!!! Love this guy and his music!! Re watching episodes of Yellowstone, getting ready for the new season. Looked up this guys name after loving his song he played on the show...wow. Real country music right here. He has a heart for tradition. The music these stations play are not country. So glad to he's singing the real deal.
wait till you research his life story. messed up life. true cowboy. makes that voice feel even more authentic.
In the Yellowstone series, Walker isn’t my favorite character. However, I’m so glad it introduced me to your true talent. I love the scenes where you break out the guitar. I was raised in a bunkhouse. That brings back memories. That one off voice of yours is amazing. I’ve since then downloaded all your albums and can’t get enough, and I’m not even a country fan.
Not to get all music critic-ey but the dude is more "Americana"...ie folk without the politics and a bit more drawl and twang. Southside of Heaven is more country simply due to a heavier drawl and banjos. Bottom line is..good is good. I don't like country for the most part, but Jolene by Dolly Parton is one of the greatest tunes I've ever heard.
Didn't know dude was an actual musician, not gonna lie walker wasn't my favorite character but very talented actor and musician
I am 13 he is my favorite
You guys should all watch, "Crazy Heart" it's how i initially found out about him. I see a lot of comments about "Yellowstone". I suggest buying his album, "Mescolito" it's raw and one of his orginals.
Great album. I was introduced to his music the exact same way. I still think "The Weary Kind" is probably his best song, then again theyre all good.
Have you seen him live? Hes fantastic.
I found him on CZcams and then saw "Crazy Heart" several months later.
Walker is back !!! Yellowstone Episode 3x09 was amazing !!!
I had a feeling he was gonna be back!! Fkn love that show!!
My favorite character in all tv. And my favorite musician
