- When I first came across Oliver Anthony and his music, I was blown away to say the least. He had a whole collection of songs that I could listen to for hours. Oliver resides in Farmville, VA with his 3 dogs and a plot of land he plans on turning into a small farm to raise livestock. We have a whole mess of songs set to release of Oliver for your viewing and listening pleasure, he is truly special and notes his biggest influence as Hank Williams Jr. Oliver wants to give hope to the working class and your average hard working young man who may have lost hope in the grind of trying to get by.

This song and rich men north of Richmond
Or you just don't have a soul
Or yodeling is just too much to bear, and you don't want think about the 1% in your free time
Or you don't wanna spend your time focusing on negative things
42 year old Filipino American here. This one hits hard. I’m a blue collar worker making more money than my parents ever did but found myself looking for a 2nd job just so my family can live comfortably. Most of us don’t have a voice. Thank you so much for saying what we’re all thinking. We have no choice. As much as I’ll hate working all day and night, I love my children way more.
Hello po, if you're needing an opportunity, let's talk and get your family taken care of.
God Bless you and your family. Love from a fellow American.
Wish I could just wake up and it not be true, but it is, oh it is
Ditto. Ditto.
You're a good man
I'm a 57 year old man, and this song brought tears to my eyes. I felt this in my soul. This is the story of the world we live in today, and It's a damn shame!!!
I Greed is killin this All
Same. I'm in my 30's
God sent us his son to lead us against the evil and fight the spiritual war humanity was in. 2023 years later, God sent us this man for the same reason. I truly believe Rich men north of Richmond is our battle cry. It is meant to bring us together. To give us strength to fight this war that only their side is fighting. Are you ready? It will take all of us to defeat the devil and his cabal and the committee of 300 who serve them.
Amen brother!!
It brought tears to my eyes too before I could get it under off. What a nerve racking song. That is if you can call it a song. Sounds like it was taken out of a rant at a trump rally
Oliver, when this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️
God bless you!
Very cool, we do get better! We just need a reason to stay better! Much Love
I’m proud of you, and super happy for you too! I’ve been sober 5 months. I can’t believe it gets better but I’m trying to hope.
Congratulations!
❤❤❤
2:30A.M. working nights in the oilfield, listening to Oliver Anthony, hating those rich men north of Richmond.
Who doesnt
You’re working for the rich guys in the song. I feel for ya.
@Slumerican307 I feel ya brother. Keep your head up. But, Love not hate. That's what Oliver Anthony's music is about. You're wasting your time and precious energy and most importantly you heart, hating those Richmond North of Richmond, rather than loving the people they're putting down that Oli is singing about here. ❤️
It's important to remember it's not just the politicians; but the ExxonMobil CEO's and everyone up the chain. It's all about money built on your sweat and blood.

Rich man west of Quebec.
Your country is more gone than ours and I pray for you brother.
@@basedshepherd8858I don’t wanna be defeatist but as a Canadian living in Toronto I think it’s fair to say our country is over. My wife and I plan on leaving in a couple years. The states has some more years left for sure, but I’m afraid their ultimate fate will be the same as ours. Even if it takes 20 years
Can you guys please secede from Canada and join the United States? You would help save us in every Presidential election and we would let you guys have more mining and oil jobs and freedom. Win-Win.

Sorry brother. It can always get worse.
When you haven't seen your home in the daylight in more than a month and when you sit in your driveway for an extra ten minutes before you go in to your wife and kids, you think about the things in this song.
Yeah…this comment hits home. That extra 10 min just to process the night, put all your worries aside for a bit, and gather yourself enough to put a smile on your face before the kids see you. I get that, I really do.
God bless you man what a wonderful call the Work to say the truth of what's going on I come from a common country and I poured concrete for now quick we have to fight for freedom to work so hard with so little money and get nowhere

Just listened to an amazing American singer who has managed to produce a song that resonates with ALL the working class worldwide. OLIVER YOU ARE A LEGEND...I'm embarrassed I'm so late to this man's music.
Hello is full of the lovely things like the morning sun, the gleaming dew drops, the sparkling rain, the vast blue sky, the whistles of chirping birds, the beauty of the sea. Hope you're doing great and in good health. 👋
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
You perfectly captured the helplessness felt by millions of hard working Americans whose government has foresaken them and cast them away. AMAZING and moving song because it is based in total truth.
We're feeling it in Canada as well.... God bless the American people and all who desire better times 🇨🇦🇺🇲
Stolen elections have consequences!
Not just Americans, I'm from Australia and the government is fucking us here too.

Hello there, What's your favorite country music?
This is one of the best country songs I've ever heard since Meryle Haggard , Hank Jr. and Johnny Cash. I love old school country the most, but this guy is really good !

I’m a 38 year old man with a wife and 4 year old daughter. Did 17 years in the auto factory and quit a year ago to move to New Brunswick Canada to be with my family. I’ve listened to this song 20 times today.
Welcome home, brother.
just went to and came back from new brunswick, its gods country............now im in shithole ontario again, golden triangle that sure as shit aint golden
Those capitalist pigs stole your labor for 17 years. Absolutely disgusting. You should have owned that factory collectively with your workers and shared in the profits. It's time to stand up for workers and take what's ours.
So miserable life! How did Canada accept rubbish like you?
cool story bro
This is his heart and soul written in a song. I love his rawness and lyrics. He's not looking for fortune or fame.....he's writing facts and telling the truth. This song needs to be heard everywhere. I've got so much respect for this guy. This is pure talent. Respect my brother ❤
This describes every proud country American's feelings towards our society 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a welder and a veteran of the Iraq war , I love watching this song keep gaining millions of views !!! And it will keep growing god willing :)
Thank you for your service sir.
Thank you for your service.
I'm Iraqi, and despite what the US government did to my country, brave men like you did end Saddam's socialist nightmare, things are exactly good in Iraq, but the nightmare is merely a feverish dream now, so I too thank you for your service.
Wherever you go most common people just want to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads, and are generally good people, we're all the same.
brother , I keep the Iraqi children in my eyes and heart everyday , cause I think what if someone invaded my country !!! God bless the Iraqi people
@@HQ4575 Assuming you're actually Iraqi, Saddam was not a socialist. And he was our (US) guy when he slaughtered the entire left wing of his party. It wasn't until he started selling oil in currencies other than US dollars that he became evil here. US corporate interests who own the US govt concocted an entirely fake story to justify stealing your country's resources. You should be ashamed if you are actually an Iraqi.
Grew up Homeless in Portland, Oregon. Spent 12 years doing my best not to become again. Then I took everything I cared about into a backpack and dufflebag and moved to Ohio. Working in a factory, busting my ass everyday and I'm struggling to eat. This song hit me so hard I had to take a moment.
Hang in there! Life ain’t fair. Life ain’t easy. But we don’t know what tomorrow brings. God sees your struggle and is willing to help if we accept his help.
Hell yeah man, tax the mf rich so we can finally get some real damn change in this country. Worker solidarity 🤙🏻
Even though I'm from Portland, I'm not a Socialist nor a Communist. Nice try though. You damn right life isn't fair. Life's been kicking me in the balls for as long as I can remember. I just do my best everyday.

I raised 5 kids, single mom with no help. Held 3 jobs sometimes, sold Avon on the side, I worked my a** off to keep a roof and food. I had not medical insurance but made sure they had. I'm 67 and they're all grown and 3 months ago I went into a deep depression. All that work. All that stress. What do I have to show for it? Thank you for this song. It's an outlet for all the anger and stress of so many people all over who are tired of being tired of being tired.Thank you.
I'm 52. Married my childhood sweetheart! We sacrificed for our kids. I worked. She stayed home. We home schooled. She passed away in 2018. So now I am alone, raising our last 3.... Those kids, and a small home, are all I have to show for a damn lifetime of blood sweat and tears. Those kids though??? They are doing BETTER that I was doing at their age! "What I have to show for it" - Dear friend - you don't have to show anything to anyone. The only One that saw it from the day one, from the Cross, sees it. He is the only One to sweat and work hard for, not for us. God bless you!

When you hear people like this sing such a powerful song how can you not believe theres something greater than us out there
He's so talented on the guitar and then BOOM he drops the heat with his outstanding voice. Incredible man.
I hope in ten years have to explain why this song took off to my kids. “It was a bad time. People were struggling and Oliver just hit the right chord at the right time.”
It was artificially promoted. Things are nowhere near bad. You're just a spoiled first-worlder.
Under rated comment
It’s a good point. Great comment. The fact that this song took off, as beautifully expressed and true as it is… it’s also sad. Sad that such a gloomy song sung by a dude in his backyard about how hopeless it is for young men has become the #1 trending song worldwide.
Damn I resonate with this statement well said my friend. I hope your life finds luck and happiness!
By that time, you would have transferred the rest of their future over to a small elite class. This is the result of failed trickledown economics started in the 80s under Reagan. Until we go back to regulating, taxing and breaking up these corporations it will only get worse.
I'm a 52 year old medically retired woman. I was born with a severe spinal defect. I worked 18.5 years after I lost my first leg at 23. I worked until 10 years ago when I lost my other leg and became a spastic paraplegic. I worked so hard. But I never got ahead because of the extraordinary medical expenses I have. This song made me cry for everyone just trying to get by.
I pray God up above will lay his hands on you. That he will give you peace and love that you can see and feel. You are not alone in your suffering, please know this

Hello there, What's your favorite country music?
This man just wrote the absolute best working man song we've heard in my lifetime. This is at 1 million views in 48 hours. Us working class people are the majority and need to show it. Thanks radiowv for showing us real music for hard working Americans.
Heck yea I'm an American Working Man myself and I didn't just listen to this song I felt it. It moved me and being a 54yr old salty climber not much does so thank you to all involved and to all of us that will pump this song to NUMBER 1!!!!
Love this one. Best I've heard in years.
He didn't write it.
People need to start admitting the real reason this all started going south and it wasn't the last few presidencies. Its our whole generation and it's been the sacred cow of the last 30 years. The marginal tax rate for wealthy people used to be 91% than 70% and now it's 38%. Does anyone really think that trickle down economics worked? Taxing the obscenely wealthy at such a low rate only allowed the wealthy to hoard more wealth and create more billionaires. That means that the purchasing power of normal people keeps going down. The super rich drive up prices of all our necessities from rent to housing. They buy up more real estate in investment properties and keep driving up prices to where normal people can't afford to live. Property tax rates keep going up to benefit the wealthy and squeeze out the middle class and poor. Homelessness is at its highest point in decades while investment properties sit empty. You don't need to be a genius to know that even if your wages go up slightly, if a wealthy person gets way more wealthy, your prices go up. Imagine a farmers market where a billionaire is willing to pay a million dollars for an apple. He's gonna get that apple while everyone else starves, even if the farmer has enough apples to go around.

23 year Carpenter with 2 daughters and I've listened to this song at least 100 times. Whoever said Gingers have no soul is just wrong because you've connected with mine. I've never heard a song so simple but with so much meaning and feelings. I hope this song changes the world and I'm thankful for you and your spirit. This song brought tears to our eyes but I can always wash it away with clean water thanks to the people who keep this country afloat. Y’all are the silent hero’s.

Im just silently crying over here, this is what the world is right now and he sees it. He's not afraid to tell the truth, I think that's why this became so viral, he's one of us working people. He and his audience can relate to the harsh reality of today. So powerfully done!

I worked in the oilfield for 11 years and wasted my life 110 hours a week to live comfortable. After time and a half we were taxed more for overtime . This song hits the soul sack and I'm glad to hear this song blew up . Hard working people deserve the money to live the rest of their life out without worry of the next bill. I hope our country wakes up one day and kicks these tyrant people out of government. We the people deserve better . God bless brothers and sisters 🍻
Sorry but you need to pay up so we can send money to Ukraine.
Oilfield electrician for 25 years. This song hits all the blood and sweat I've put in for the dollar.
Taxation is theft
Your withholding taxes are based solely on your gross pay and so are your real taxes owed calculated when you file. It is a myth that overtime is taxed at a higher rate than regular hourly. Your employer doesnt even report how much overtime you get to the irs. They dont care how you got it. Hourly, overtime, salary, commissions, bonuses it all gets taxed the same and is only based on the gross taxable income.
And you kept voting for Republicans who cut taxes for the rich and don't give a damn about you. But you'd rather blame your problems on the party that wants the horror of...giving you healthcare.
I'm surprised a song like this is trending. It gives me hope.
Hits the soul all the time. Thank you for waking me up!!!!

@AndyGKaufman I think it's great personally. I didn't know what it would take for conservatives to finally have some class consciousness and realize that rich people are the problem. If this is what it takes, then so be it. Just stop voting for capitalists.
@AndyGKaufman Wrong, the rich politicians are simply doing the bidding of the rich people. Rich people have so much money they can control anyone. They could make you sing and dance like a puppet just like any politician out there if htey wrote you those million dollar checks. You can say you wouldn't, but you would. It's too much money to pass up. No one should have as much power as the rich have.
Guess which party wants universal healthcare and a higher minimum wage… hint: not the trumpers

BELIEVE IT BROTHER !@@georgeetter7558
@@georgeetter7558 I re-read this today. And was recently reminded by a Romanian friend of mine who lived in a communist country for the first 24 years of her life. She lost her parents to communism and moved to the US to get away. She said people would regularly disappear never to be heard from again. But it does make me worry - if it can happen there, it can happen here. Hopefully we muster the courage and wisdom to overcome this threat. I believe our nation is at risk of falling apart, just like Soviet Union did in 1989. These are dark days, and hopefully we emerge victorious, but it is far from guaranteed and unless people actually DO something, we will lose.
I (as in we the people) dictate to this government, this government does Not dictate to us.

He is alright. Love that gee-tar. Love his besutiful hair as well. Handsome young man. GOS BLESS HIM
Greetings from Poland Oliver, I love this song.
I was born and raised in a small village in China, but the lyrics of this song powerfully resonate with me. My parents are almost into their 80s now, and they have never had good days in their whole lives - they have endured much pain and struggle even unimaginable to me. Nowadays, the so-called 'elite' (whether in the USA or China) is busy developing big and fancy ideas, leaving the working poor stuck in devastation. Politicians always talk about human rights, but in the meanwhile, they deliberately ignore our basic needs: the right to survive. Our meager earnings are even not enough for the rent and the utility bills.
this song resonates with all the people who are sick and tired of how things are so screwed up in our modern world. the people of China will be put through hell again if the fat emperor decided to invade Taiwan.
Are you still in China? I was under the impression that you cannot see things like this on your internet connection. Regardless, after reading through comments it is phenomenal to see this man's music touch every corner of the 🌎.
