I was there that day, and I will never forget it!!! The following does not come from me but from one of the biggest German metal magazines:
Together with around 200,000 nephews and nieces, the Böhse Onkelz celebrate their comeback for two days, shaking the Hockenheimring to its core. Report and photos from both concerts.
What superlatives have already been used in advance? Nine years after the Böhse Onkelz said goodbye at the Lausitzring, they are now celebrating what is probably the biggest reunion of the year at the Hockenheimring. The facts of this mega-event speak for themselves: 2 days, 100,000 fans each night, nearly 30,000 more supporters at the public viewing in Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena, an orchestra, tons of pyrotechnics, a monster stage, and four Onkelz who are ready to prove themselves once again. The gentlemen Weidner, Russell, Röhr, and Schorowsky have enlisted the energetic support of Soulfly, Crowbar, and Limp Bizkit.
Böhse Onkelz live on Friday, June 20, 2014
Opening bands have a tough time with the loyal fans of the Böhse Onkelz-especially at such a unique concert where Onkelz supporters are eagerly awaiting the return of their heroes. Other bands are tolerated more than appreciated alongside the four Deutschrockers; thus, Max Cavalera and his band Soulfly have a hard time as the opening act. Although the Brazilian-influenced rhythms actually fit well with the summery weather, real Soulfly vibes don't quite emerge. And this despite the fact that the massive venue’s floor is already more than well filled. All of the fans' attention is focused on the big comeback later in the evening-Soulfly accept their role here as high-quality, metallic background music. The south grandstand slowly fills up as son Zyon Cavalera pounds the drums and father Max works the microphone. After about 40 minutes, the quartet wraps up their solid set with ‘Eye For An Eye’ without much grumbling or complaints.
The Nu-Metal veterans of Limp Bizkit manage to stir up a bit more dust than their predecessors. Live, Fred Durst and company know what they’re doing and mainly focus on their golden CHOCOLATE STARFISH AND THE HOT DOG FLAVORED WATER era. ‘Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)’ kicks off a best-of show, where as often is the case, guitarist Wes Borland draws attention with his bizarre stage outfits. With his entirely black ensemble, he would undoubtedly fit right in with the Slipknot crew. Hits like ‘My Way’ or ‘Take A Look Around’ still earn respectable applause. But after ‘Break Stuff,’ it’s time for Limp Bizkit to make way for the initiators of this unparalleled spectacle.
The break between acts is first used by some eager ladies to showcase themselves on the giant screens to frenzied applause (keyword: Tit-Cam), before actor Ben Becker launches into a motivational speech. A bizarre performance, which with many quotes from Onkelz lyrics, further fires up the fans. Then, the Frankfurt Philharmonic gives a superbly staged version of ‘28’ in a box below the right screen. By now, the anticipation is beyond measure. When the first notes of ‘Hier sind die Onkelz’ are heard, there’s no holding back. The Böhse Onkelz are back, and the joy among the fan masses knows no bounds.
Finally, the screens and spotlight arrays on the four brutal towers of the largest stage ever built in Europe come into their own. These show the Onkelz in top form: Gonzo, in his cowboy hat, effortlessly pulls off one precise solo after another, while Pe behind the drum kit still stands as the unshakable rock after all these years. Kevin Russell’s gutter voice still harmonizes perfectly with Stephan Weidner, whose bass often makes the Hockenheimring vibrate. The first block of songs, including ‘Finde die Wahrheit’ and ‘Nr. 1,’ already features early highlights, with rapper Moses Pelham contributing a vocal part in baggy overalls for ‘Koma.’ Collective ecstasy unfolds again during ‘Wir ham’ noch lange nicht genug.’
A little later, the Onkelz make their way along the approximately 100-meter-long catwalk to the small stage in the middle of the crowd, where, framed by an orchestral version of ‘Panamericana,’ they deliver a small acoustic set with songs like ‘Ich bin in dir’ and ‘Wieder mal ‘nen Tag verschenkt,’ creating moments of goosebumps. ‘Die Firma’ and ‘Erinnerungen’ in the final part of the regular set are undoubtedly the highlights before the encore section is kicked off with ‘Feuer’ and massive pillars of flame. Hot! With the two party anthems ‘Mexico’ and ‘Auf gute Freunde,’ the dance floor is of course rocked once more. After almost three hours, the grand finale is ‘Nichts ist für die Ewigkeit.’ But the Onkelz remain, as Weidner promises their fans. And he’s not just referring to the second concert day...

The Onkelz were pushed into an extreme (right-wing) corner for a very long time at the beginning of their career, which the established media such as MTV and also the national radio & TV stations supported with censorship by simply not playing the band, regardless of the fans.
This resulted in the songs 'Keine Amnestie für MTV' (No Amnesty for MTV), 'Danke für nichts' (Thanks for Nothing), among others.
They show their social critical attitudes among other things also in 'Kirche' (Church) as it was already suggested here.
    Viva Los Tioz!

A lot of people in Germany (who don`t like them) say that this band doesn`t even has a right to exist - show me one other German rock band, able gathering 350000 fans at one weekend for two concerts!!!

You absolutely have to see "Böhse Onkelz - Erinnerung live in Berlin 2000". This song in this version is one of my absolute favorite songs. There you can see how the Onkelz were when they were a bit younger. "czcams.com/video/LvKKPk8m0fQ/video.html"

in Germany we have the freedom of speech in our laws too.
But some don't respect that . . . so Boehse Onkelz NEVER EVER
    had airplay with radio stations - N.E.V.E.R. ! ! !
Now look at the stadium ! There might be 70.000 to 100.000 fans celebrating the party.
You now know what real power is all about !
