  • Thanks for stopping by my YT Channel.
Today's video will show you bits and pieces of what being On Call looks like as a Medical Student Intern.
I'm currently doing a year long core rotation at the University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka, Zambia; which is a prerequisite for final year students to graduate.
    THINGS TO NOTE:
    1. Permission was granted before the recording of this video and extra precautions were taken to ensure the privacy of our patients.
    2. On this particular day, we had a total of 106 in-patients, so the the few shown were not even a fraction of the number we have to work with on a daily basis.
    3. Please understand Zambia is still a developing country, and as such our facility lacks many of the equipment needed, leading to a lot of improvising. ( If you wish to donate to the Hospital's NICU department, feel free to contact me via email: candiikisses123@gmail.com)
    4. No baby was harm during the making of this film.
    5. The comment section of this video will be turn off.
    6. Don't forget World Prematurity Day is Nov 17, 2022
    7. This video is in no intended to emotional upset anyone, and if it does I truly apologize.
    8. Don't forget to give a pat on the shoulder to the next medical staff you see, believe me our jobs are not easy.
    9. Every baby is loved and cared for equally.
    10. Don't lose faith, keep praying.
    CASES WE SAW:
    1. Gastroschisis
    2. PPHN
    3. Shock
    4. Prune Belly Syndrome
    5. HIE
