(I understand this is a lot, but thats why you guys shouldnt worry about it when a few people bring it up, but i tried making it easy as possible get the gist of it and why its sorta pointless)
Pedro needs to relax lol for multiple days he's telling you guys about a mechanic that doesnt reeeeaally need to be worried about.
To break it down:
-Pokemon have 6 stats
-HP
-Attack
-Defense
-Special Attack
-Special Defense
-Speed
-All pokemon have Base Stats that can be increased in a number of ways, not worth getting into for a normal playthrough
-Hp is your health and speed decides who goes first, easy to understand.
-The different attacks and defenses used are determined by the TYPE(water, grass, fire, etc) of attack used and received
Now, how the hell are you supposed to know which is which? I honestly dont know since they got rid of this system the next generation on the DS. The easiest way to remember it is all the eeveelution types(fire, water, electric, ice, grass, psychic, dark) + dragon use the Special Attack stat.
-How is this knowledge useful? It can be, not in a normal playthrough. Pedro keeps bringing up Gyrados so I'll use it as an example. Gyrados has a really high base Attack(125) and a lower base Special Attack(60). Unfortunately, Water uses the Sp.Attack stat for power and so does Dark(Bite).
-Flying and Normal are considered physical so they use the Attack stat. Hyper Beam will decimate just about anything and why Thrash from a lower level Gyrados did so much damage.
-WHY IS THIS INFO USELESS?
-because Gyrados doesnt learn any good physical moves besides some Normal ones and Earthquake(a TM, so one time use). Of course you're using it for water attacks, otherwise why use it?
-The best use of the physical and special attacks and their stats is for type coverage but its really not that big a deal

Might be too tough, but just an idea because you guys have so many people donating. Set up some amount of subs and Andy puts the person into the game as an NPC with their choice of dialogue or something. Absolutely loving the streams, and Nick definitely bit Poon.

you know what's so fun about this playthrough? I feel like a lot of the silly strategy conversations the team go through on stream is just a wackier reflection of what we all think when playing (at least when we were a kid and didn't know anyhting lol)

Paralysis halves (I think could be quarters) the speed of whoever is paralyzed, making them slower

Personally, I like to have all of the HMs (besides Flash) available on my core 6. Of everyone available, my 6 for you guys would be-
1. Tim.
2. Cbent.
3. Vaporeon. Evolve Eevee with a Water Stone, teach it Surf, never look back. Vaporeon has better stats than Gyarados. *See footnote for technical explanation.
4. KevinBacon. Teach him Return! He is a Normal/Flying type, so a strong Normal move will be really good on him.
5. Peashaleak. Or potentially Zapdos, who you can catch at the Power Plant once you get Surf (Level 50 though so be careful or just use your Master Ball).
6. Snorlax. Teach him Earthquake from the 8th gym leader. He can be your tank who you send out any time you don't know exactly what to do, or you need to buy time to heal up the rest of the squad.
*You are playing Gen 3. In Gen 3, ALL Water type attacks are Special. Vaporeon has much higher Special Attack than Gyarados. Also, Vaporeon is better defensively. In later games, Gyarados works better because some Water type attacks become Physical, but in Gen 3, they all use Special Attack.

I love these streams but it is actually kinda annoying that when people spend money to help Nick he just ignores it and acts like he can't understand it.
