    Thanks for these recipes! Been trying them out, they taste great! Been practicing using the numbers so I can brew outdoors without scales (with coffee pre-dosed).
    The only issue I had was with #1, with the inverted method and with my water volume of 225g (probably that's the problem), the coffee overflows when added afterwards and blooms. So what I've been doing is adding the coffee with half water volume, stirring and allowing for brief bloom before adding the rest of water. Problem solved!

    Never thought you could have that much fun with an AeroPress ☕👍 I feel a coffee, photography adventure is afoot 👀. Last time I used an AeroPress was canoeing and camping, because we were backpacking all our gear with us we just used pre-ground coffee (don't judge) but the method was similar to the first. After a day of paddling, sitting on the shore of a lake watching the sunset, a cup of coffee adds nicely to that special moment. Okay a cold beer would be nice but whose going to pack that in with them 👍🤣

      Very little better than a coffee after a paddle in a canoe. Nothing more Canadian, is there?

    I finally tried something like your method #1. Improvement compared to my first two attempts at using aeropress, but still not as good as pour increments of hot water with filter and funnel. At least I know what to try next to improve a brew using aeropress (which likely will be to use more coffee beans/grinds).

    After a month of use, i am realising that my sweet spot is with around 10-12g coffee for 1m30-2m extractions witb the inverted method. In fairness thougb, i used it some 30 times and never tried twice the same recipe. It's so mucb fun to try new recipes everyday

    Evening Brendon, great video. I have decided to try and get into coffee and so have got an Aeropress and grinder. I was looking where to buy these and found there is a roster in a small village about 5 miles down the road. They sold me the equipment and throw in three bags of their coffee so I am trying to work out what I like. I am going to try the first two methods here to get going before I venture the the third.
    A question I have is in trying to find the right ring for me, what is the effects of making the grind a little finer or a little more coarse.

    I haven't had my aeropress for very long, but I am already in love with it. Full city - full city+, 15g coffee to 250g water @ 14-16 clicks on the C2 with 95c water. I use the standard method with no steep time. Add the coffee, then the water, stir and push through immediately. I've tried to coarsen up the grind and steep longer 30-60 seconds but it just isn't to my taste. Now, with a light roast a coarser grind and some steep time seems to work really well but I like my medium-dark roasts. It is just that with darker roasts I find the least amount of contact time with water the better.
    Anyway, I find the aeropress to be my go-to for most brews these days. That and the Flair.

      I agree. I drink light roast. But occasionally when I travel I pick up a city or + roast and if I steep them it seems to over-extract. Straight to pour, press, and drink :D

    Really interesting - I do basically the same as your first recipe, but with a medium-fine grind instead of coarse (65 clicks on the Kingrinder K6). Everything else pretty much the same. I'm getting an amazing cup of coffee, picking out all the notes in an Ethiopan Washed light roast. It's intense with a nice mouthfeel, but not bitter or astringent. I suspect a coarse grind would be quite thin and sour?

    Have you ever used like a mesh pour over sock-like thing you put just in the coffee cup? For the sake of space and weight I use the thing I'm trying to describe (which I clearly can't remember the name of, sorry) when traveling/camping. Would be interesting to see you try to use such a thing to see if there's a sweet spot.

    Here's a pro tip, if you own a French press put a paper filter under the mesh and enjoy zero grinds in your coffee😃✌️

    Easier way to flip Aeropress: push the air out before flipping.

    Have you tried recipes with a Prismo? No invertion required with Prismo.

    The #3 is my everyday method minus the inverted, I think that's unnecessary.

    I would expect if I try your method #3, it will fail for me. I like what you show for methods #1 and #2.

      It's a tricky one. If you get something like the Prismo, you don't need to invert, and it makes it easier.

    So you don't have a scale when traveling, but you do have a temperature controlled kettle?
    Also can people please stop with the "rinsing to get rid of paper flavor' for aeropress filters? It doesn't exist.(now wetting it to make it stick to the holder... yeah sure)

    This is ridiculous ,a scientific , experiment , recipes, upside down water temp ,grind.but no matter what you do it does not make a restaurant quality cup of coffee
    The advertising is better than the unit
