At The Studio, our mission is simple: to change lives through coffee.
Sound a little ambitious? Maybe. But we like to think big.
Because that little cup of coffee you enjoy is more than just a little drink - it’s a pretty big deal, actually.
Every cup of specialty coffee is the product of a long-term, international process. A work of both art and science. And it’s touched the lives of many as it’s moved its way along the supply chain.
Every cup of coffee has an entire story to tell - and we love getting to share those stories with our customers.
While we love experimenting with our roasts as much as any specialty coffee roaster, we’re driven by the community that surrounds our coffees.

How To Make Great Coffee At Home: 5 Tips To Enjoy Better Coffee Today
Just tried something similiar for 200ml brew. 50 g bloom for 45 sec, than 50g each 30s. Compered to my other receipe 50 g 30 sec bloom, than 150 g poured very calmly and slowly. 1st method makes juiciness more rich, once coffee cools down a bit can feel it even more. If Your coffee has some fruits in its profile definitely this method was better. I was using Rwanda washed and I was able to get not fully ripe strawberry flavour. 2nd method is a bit more balanced and gives more chocolate caramel notes. So correct me if Im wrong but: more pours gives more movement on coffee bed so I would call it more aggressive method which would fit perfectly for Beans with fruitiness in profile. 2nd method for more balanced and flat without going crazy in any direction I would call it "After 50 method" XD
What type of coffee & roast level you suggest for this recipe?
Great video. Don’t forget to use the ridged edge lid underneath the clever dripper to help dry the stopper after you have washed the dripper.
Very clear and useful presentation; many thanks;
"huge"? You must use a different dictionary than I do. One where "huge" means "not really that much." But you are trying to sell something, so I guess I get it.
Hario has a simmilar product wich i use often. Not sure if it's "better or worse" than the Clever tho. i imagine simmilar?
Great video! Liked and subscribed! Btw have you tried doing this with inverted method? How's the result?
COOL
What time are you looking for if doing 20/320?
The coffee grinds you used in the Switch seems insanely course. It should take a lot more than 30 seconds to draw through. I don't think you are doing it correctly. c.c
Really good analogy with the cacao and milk. Makes sense now. bitter and sweet balance
Really curious how it behaves and brew in comparison to v60 in terms of brewing time and taste. Thanks for sharing, love your videos🤙
I am gonna try this thanks for sharing. I am having trouble with the aeropress. I cant find a recipe i like either to weak or two astringent. I have only had it for a week tho
Love your videos! Just found you a few days ago when searching for a good Hario Switch recipe. You have a new subscriber. Greetings from Munich, Germany. 🇩🇪 💖☕️🙋🏻♀️
Be nice to have chapter timings.
You left out the most important thing.... Grind size??????
"she"? What is wrong with you
Aeropress is not "like an espresso" maybe extracts as much volume of coffee as an espresso but its not near or like espresso.
Any chance of getting an OREA dripper review? Thanks ❤
There actually is a larger 03 size Hario Switch. Moreover it seems to be possible to take any conventional glass Hario dripper and fit it to the Switch base.
Would love to hear what you do to manage your water. I’ve been testing third wave water and having good luck with that. What type of filtration do you use? Etc. Thanks!
Great recipe, thanks for sharing. I’ve been enjoying my switch and the coffee that I get from it. Love your channel, subscribed! 👍
Brand new viewer here. You went on at length about the "bubble" of water between the filter and the Clever valve, and how it made your coffee "weaker" or "thinner." Two thoughts: First, I'd wager the same exact thing happens with the Switch, but you don't see it because of the black part (which would make the perceived distinction psychosomatic). I could be wrong, but it would be simple to test. Second, the perceived problem with the Clever is easily resolved by putting your coffee in before pouring the water, exactly as you would do with a true pour-over setup. Then your "bubble" of water would actually be a bubble of pour-over coffee, and therefore perfectly acceptable.
For those who like a little stronger coffee when using the clever grind your coffee just like you would for the pour over, yet use 25g of coffee to 300ml of water, I also add half my water first and then the coffee to steap, then at the 45 second mark add the rest of the water, give a stir and let set for 1 minute 20 seconds then break the crust and put it on my cup to fall, makes it more clean and crisp since you release the gas more that way.
Love my Clever. I put in the water first and then the coffee.
I put my grinds in the Clever Dripper first, pour water over it, my dripper never got clogged. I wash my dripper as soon my coffee is done. Never any clogged grinds whatsoever. I find the V60 not as good.
Whoa whoa whoa don't assume it's gender 🤣🤣🤣
Just tried this and it was delicious. Thanks for this vid and your casual approach. You had my in stitches 😂
shes hot😍
20 grams to how much water?
On the clever I do 20g of coffee to 300ml of water
Wonderful video Studio team! I agree that the size of the AP XL makes it less attractive. Personally, this is why I have been tempted by the Ethoz Flask, that is already similar to a bigger AP, but apparently with the same filter diameter as the regular AP. I love that your videos are so informed, yet fun. I'm ever looking forward to the next one. Saludos desde Ciudad de México.
Tried this out and made one of the best cups I’ve had so far - thanks !!
Have been fighting with the Origami to get a good recipe all week. Will copy this tomorrow for sure. haha
This recipe is the bees knees!
Hario Switch ❤
Here's a pro tip, if you own a French press put a paper filter under the mesh and enjoy zero grinds in your coffee😃✌️
Он кофе в воду закинул😂😂😂
Thanks for these recipes! Been trying them out, they taste great! Been practicing using the numbers so I can brew outdoors without scales (with coffee pre-dosed). The only issue I had was with #1, with the inverted method and with my water volume of 225g (probably that's the problem), the coffee overflows when added afterwards and blooms. So what I've been doing is adding the coffee with half water volume, stirring and allowing for brief bloom before adding the rest of water. Problem solved!
Interesting and very informative, I'm really second guessing my Tim Horton's Dark Roast Coffee choice this morning 🤣
Tim Horton is very good
Hey bro tell me the exact Ratio what it's..?? Like course grinning, how to add beans & hot water??? Preparation time what?
Great how-to video! Just bought an Aeropress before spending bug bucks on an espresso machine. I love lattes and using your recipe resulted in a delicious one with full, complex flavors. Love that scale! Would you happen to know what brand it is? Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for the vid. You can switch out the glass cone with a plastic Hario V 60 cone. You can also change the size of the cone, ie replace a Switch size 02 glass cone with a size 03 plastic cone
the coffee shop in front of my uni has an “orange coffee” but they use natural juice and the coffee has ice, it’s kinda sacrilegious but quite good tho
Anaerobic fanboy here!
The Clever Dripper comes in small and large sizes.
This is ridiculous ,a scientific , experiment , recipes, upside down water temp ,grind.but no matter what you do it does not make a restaurant quality cup of coffee The advertising is better than the unit
How about using a different attachment that seemingly adds pressure?
If you use two filters you can get a chrema
James Hoffman immersed the coffee for 5 minutes. Not sure if you're doing it right.
Where can I find mug/glasses like those?
