Shepard made peace between geth and quarians with Renegade bonus phrase. I think it will be interesting who didn't choose this. Hope you enjoy watching. Keelah se'lai
"You are welcome to return to Rannoch, Admiral Raan, with us." I love how pure the Geth are. As soon as they get the chance for true peace with their creators, they take it without a second thought.
Indeed, they never wanted the war to begin with, BOTH time's they were at war (the morning war, and this current one) were because the quarians opened fire first, and the geth acted in self defense.
Even if they had a second though, it would take about 0.0005 seconds ( depending on the number of interconnected Geth platforms/units ) to decide, what will be their next action.
It's a retcon that started in the second game. In the first game, Tali specifically needs data from Geth that weren't working for Saren, and you find it with Geth that have been setting up outposts near human colonies, they attack you on sight, and have the husk-making tools with them. It wasn't until Mass Effect 2 that they said, "The geth had these spikes to turn people into husks." "Yes they got that technology from the Reapers." So, the direction the writers took with the geth is kinda forced. I really like Legion, and like that he's capable of turning the Geth around, but the Geth are not innocent if you take all three games into account, even the ones not working for the Reapers.
Because that was the purely logical choice and Geth are calculating machines who think at the speed of light and peace with the Quarians happens to be the best result. It's way easier for them since they aren't driven by emotions like organics.
@@Kayem237 Do consider that, before Legion's mission on the Geth Hub, there were Geth conspirators (called "heretics" by Legion) that actively wanted to implant a virus in the other Geth to override their consensus. The Geth that served the Reapers and displayed hostility to other races might have been among those heretics. It's not the true reasoning of the Geth Gestalt and and such I see no retcon. In many parts of Legion's dialogue he talks about how the Reapers, particularly Sovereign, intended to subdue the Geth as lesser machines.
It really does. And not in a good way. ME2 Legion was amazing, one of the best and most interesting companions not just in Mass Effect but ion video games period. ME3 Legion is a pile of shit. Ever notice that Legion is the only squadmate from the entire trilogy that has no content in Citadel? The only fucking one. He can be on the ship when it happens and there's not even a passing comment. He's also the only squadmate that MUST die. Arguably even Thane can survive (though he's still going to die from Space Lung Cancer soon) as long as you ignore him early on so he doesn't help and save Councilor Genocide Justifier. There's a reason for all this: his original writer left Bileware between ME2 and ME3, and the writers for 3 neither understood him nor gave a damn to. ME3's Legion was almost as insulting as ME3's ending. Almost.
I love how at the beginning he instantly says "Harbinger speaks of you," as if this particular Reaper is like Harbinger's psychiatrist who's been listening to Harbinger rant on and on and on about how much of a pain in the ass Shepard is.

Actually best Renegade moment would be shattering Kai Leng’s katana and gut stabbing him with the Omni-Blade. Yes I know he gets gored in the alternative so there isn’t a massive difference, but smashing that blade and going right for the kill has always been way more satisfying.
The moment that Legion refers to itself as I... It aches my heart... But what opens the flood gates of tears... "I know, Tali... But thank you. Keelah Se'lai"
Legion referred to Tali as Tali instead of "Creator Zorah" right before he died. In his last moments, he saw her as a friend instead of just a Creator.
Renegade is the route quickest from A to B. Do you use gas grenades in an elaborate way to save the Colonists on Feros, or just gun them down quickly to keep the Throrian from making more hosts than he has. Spare the Rachni, who had threatened the entire galaxy, on the belief this one Queen will just keep her word, or be skeptic and decide you can't make that risk with only the word of one Rachni (who were... again the greatest threat the galaxy had ever seen at the time.) Renegade choices seem evil because they seek quick and easy solutions with swift pay-offs. Paragon options require time to see everyone happy, investments, negotiations that have you put up with intolerable people. I play Renegade, but I don't play Space Hitler. Honestly one could argue that curing the Genophage is the Renegade option. You tell the Salarians to be damned, and subsequently create a galaxy where Krogan breed like wildfire. That was the one nerf that kept the Krogan in check, and now with it cured, it only takes one Krogan Warlord to have enough of a quad to challenge Wrex or Grunt for the line of succession to create another Krogan conflict. That said... I always cure the Genophage, a real renegade does what they want, when they want to and doesn't give a shit trying to please any dumbass council.
"Without our intervention, organics are doomed" Huh, that line sounds more in line with the original Dark-Matter storyline before it became the Synthetic-issue story.
Sigh . I just recently checked in the forums on how to save Legion in everyway possbile -Rewriting/Destroy Heretics -Legions Loyalty Still dies . Sad really.
I'm a paragon shepard but I always choose the renegade option here, way more convincing especially when talking to Gerrel as a soldier and reflects Shepards genuine long built frustration with the Quarians
"Tell your friends I'm coming for them." *drops an orbital strike* "Nevermind. I'll tell them myself." One of the most badass lines in the series. Yeah... that keelah se'lai didn't really fit.
I like the Keelah Se'lai. Even during the Renegade, it gives weight to Shepard's words. Like, this is a man who has experienced Quarian culture. When he says the Geth will destroy them all, he knows exactly what he is talking about.
i like the keelah se'lai. after shepard expriences quarian AND geth culture he knows the power and meaning of that word. as someone who read the bible in hebrew, i know the power of some words. so do the qurains. at this point he is telling them "remember the planet, remember what you are fighting for, and trust me"
I felt it made sense. In Paragon Keelah selai was an appeal to their homesickness, a plea to get them to see the bigger picture. In renegade it's an almost sarcastic rebuke, lambasting the quarians for forgetting the bigger picture amidst their shortsightedness
***** no. If Mordin was allowed to sing in ME2, allowing him to cure the genophage will be the saddest death. Especially if he also mentioned seashells.
I agree I just wish that BioWare showed us her face in the final romance scene Or if they could’ve had an ending where Shepard survived and built her that house
you have to have earned Tali's loyalty in ME2. You have to have rescued Koris on Rannoch. You also have to have your reputation past the last "notch" on the reputation bar. Also, about the scarring, if you got the facial reconstruction surgery in ME2 or ME3, then your face wont scar from renegade choices.
TurKlack I feel you. Andromeda is a new beginning, though. Can't imagine why wouldn't they put someone of every spacefaring race on the Tempest, but that's what we get. Of course, a blue tentacled stripper sexdoll, I mean, an Asari is still a part of your team there. Talk about Bioware's Asari fetish.
Even if they DID put quarians, you wouldn't see them without masks. The mission was launched at the time of mass effect 2, so the quarians joining the mission wouldn't be able to take their masks off...
"an't imagine why wouldn't they put someone of every spacefaring race on the Tempest" Simple. the endeavor is for Milky Way Citadel races to open up new paths, propagating respective species, in a new frontier. quarians're generally scorned by Citadel races, & the Andromeda Initiative is a Citadel project. they don't like the quarians enough to put them there, that's all. furthermore, the quarians are an insular race, most interact with other races out of necessity, not because they like to. their population is small enough as it is, their immune systems too weak to fight just about anything, & with that, sending hundreds of thousands, millions even, to a new galaxy where they'll be very likely to die off in several generations, ain't that appealing.
Whenever someone complains about Mark Meers voice acting I refer to this particular scene. " I Will stand and watch while the geth lay you to waste!" So well delivered. Hales version of this speech pales in comparison.
Don't forget the choices made in Legion's Loyalty mission in ME2, that also is considered in the mechanics of this choice. I rewrote instead of destroying and I always get the choice, I destroyed them twice and I never got the choice.
That small smile when Gerrel finally listens to him. That just tells you that the anger in his speech came from a place of love; he genuinely cared about the Quarians, and was tired of their blind actions.
Renegade peace sounds so much more badass than paragon peace speech. I didn't realise that the renegade option would also lead to peace, which is why I went the paragon route.
When EDI explained this later that during his death, it was the only time Legion referred to himself as an individual, it made this just so much more crushing... I just wanted him and Thane to live :(
Dem feels... I will always love Tali, whatever path mass effect may take from now on...since we have a 4 coming up on the horizon...I will never forget her...
I never really got the paragon/renegade system in this game, does it matter at all how much red/blue reputation you have, or is it literally just down to rep when it comes to charm/intimidate?? (except for the end of course)
I understand it's a game, and it's for the sake of plot and the player's choice, but wouldn't it be in reality them siding with each other be the logical thing? Like; "Listen up, fuckers. You can go ahead and kill each other, but whoever is left standing won't matter if the Reapers kill us all anyway." That's what really annoyed me about this part, since I wasn't able to get peace with them. It is the most obvious solution staring them in the face. Yeah, they could bicker about sharing a planet and shit, but in retrospect it seems very simple. Geth want to live and not fight the Quarians. Quarians want a home.
Well, the Quarians at this point did spend their entire lives hating/fearing the Geth for driving them out of their homeworld. Their species has literally spent centuries dreaming about reconquering their world. Now that they finally have that opportunity, it really isn't that surprising that they aren't willing to suddenly just stop and shake hands with what's supposed to be their sworn enemies. Making peace is certainly the logical thing to do (which is why the Geth are very willing to do so), but sadly most sentient beings don't operate on pure logic.
What's really fucked up is that the quarians did this to themselves in the first place. they made their machines so intelligent they got self-aware. then they try to wipe them out for becoming people instead of tools. then they blame their supposed tools for their misfortune, when said tools never wanted to fight them in the first place, & only fought back in self defense. So the renegade speech here makes goddamn fuckin' sense. you wanna keep playing fire even when i've told you REPEATEDLY not to, then don't count on me to save you for the 3rd time. in fact, i'll just fuckin' sit back & laugh, while you fuckin' scream your lungs out getting incinerated.
To be fair, Shepherd does have a point when he points out that he saved them and that he helped them take out the Dreadnaught. I'd kinda be through with trying to save them as well, considering they were perfectly fine with blowing up the Dreadnaught while you and Tali were still inside it. ...Well, not completely, because I'm a weenie and generally go Paragon, but I can still understand.
I haven't seen this before but then I've never done a renegade playthrough before was thinking next time I play of doing one though have toadmit thoigh this is one of my favourite scenes from ME3 along with the scene where the krogan go into battle with shepard at the start of the Cuer the genophage mission

Literally aye? Literally skullcrushing? You type well for an invalid
it was chilling watching legion almost literally quivering as he begged for its species right to live.
There was more emotion in 3 lines of legion dialog than there is in 30 hours of Mass Effect Andromeda gameplay.
5:38-that tiny bit of hope in Shepard's voice.
This may be the best renegade interrupt in the game. Fucking roasted!

Damn, the reaper sounds super cool.
super fucking mega cool
Cool is not what I'd call a over powered, brainwashing, self-entitled, mechanical AI with a "God-complex" over organic beings.
+Cugastratos come on they were fantastic villains
Weird how renegade gets a good option lol
Stone Shallberg right. this should be the paragon option
renegade doesn't equal evil in the mass effect series
right, renegade options is just evil ways to get result, which in that case is a good one
Paragon achieves same result, by telling them basically the Geth are literally only acting in self-defense. They stop shooting, war ends.
"Without our intervention, organics are doomed"
Huh, that line sounds more in line with the original Dark-Matter storyline before it became the Synthetic-issue story.
Sigh . I just recently checked in the forums on how to save Legion in everyway possbile
-Rewriting/Destroy Heretics
-Legions Loyalty
Still dies . Sad really.
There is no way to save legion.
Lala land king Yes but there is a way to keep Ashley and Alenko alive in ME1 and play with both in ME3... Just as keeping Wrex alive.
Natasha Zinkiy No there's not.....
Yes it does
Natasha Zinkiy There is no way possible to save both Ashley and Kaiden. You can save one and that's it.
I'm a paragon shepard but I always choose the renegade option here, way more convincing especially when talking to Gerrel as a soldier and reflects Shepards genuine long built frustration with the Quarians
4:10 dat smile doe
That's nothing. remember ME1 ending.
Jannis Moumoulidis HAHAHA YES I lost my shit :)
1:30 Keelah se' Lai,
bosh'tet...
Wish I thought of that line
This scene more than most out of the entire trilogy still makes me tear upIt always hurts watching Legion die
That little smile after Shepard hears the Quarians are standing down make this scene.
"Tell your friends I'm coming for them."
*drops an orbital strike*
"Nevermind. I'll tell them myself."
One of the most badass lines in the series.
Yeah... that keelah se'lai didn't really fit.
@@dsdy1205 Exactly what I thought. Like a final little bit of mockery to show his disdain.
R.I.P
Legion
Friend
Crewmate
Killer Robot
Martyr
Never forget legion, Geth jesus, who died for our sins
the first time i'v ever cried over a game.. RIP Legion :'(
Probably the saddest death in ME3 and possibly the whole series.
***** no. If Mordin was allowed to sing in ME2, allowing him to cure the genophage will be the saddest death. Especially if he also mentioned seashells.
That smirk Shepard had after the speech worked was amazing. Miss those clunky Bioware faces
4:08
Shepard’s like “Hot damn that actually worked. I should be aggressive more often!”
How to make me cry in 4:30 minutes
When you mourn a fictional machine in a video game, that's good writing.
6:42 TALI'S FACE!
Holy shit, it really hits me when the music from ME1 starts to kick in.
"Copying code insufficient, direct personality dissemination... Recquired" you can hear the saddness in his voice
the reaper's "eye" twitch when the airstrike is in bound lmao
"WE ARE YOUR SALVATION! WE ARE ETERNAL!! WE ARE... oh... sh^t..."
Romancing Tali'Zorah with this scene. It's art.
I agree I just wish that BioWare showed us her face in the final romance scene
Or if they could’ve had an ending where Shepard survived and built her that house
you have to have earned Tali's loyalty in ME2. You have to have rescued Koris on Rannoch. You also have to have your reputation past the last "notch" on the reputation bar.
Also, about the scarring, if you got the facial reconstruction surgery in ME2 or ME3, then your face wont scar from renegade choices.
You need legión loyalty and prevent Tali exile un the trial
Renegade is the only way to play this game imo; only thing that sucks is you have to killl Wrex early or kill him in cold blood in ME3
@@FrostyFTL MFW I get a reply on a comment I made over 11 years ago lmao
That fucking smirk.
Nah, I always rewrite the heretics. The bit where Legion gets me a whole extra Geth Prime squadron is SWEET
But you endanger the quarians in doing so
@@gabematthews4532 Fuck 'em. They brought it on themselves.
I fucking hope we can finally see the quarians without their mask in the next ME.
You will probably be dissapointed. No Quarians in Andromeda at all, as far as I am concerned.
Astoran
BIOWARE WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?!?!
"an't imagine why wouldn't they put someone of every spacefaring race on the Tempest"
Simple. the endeavor is for Milky Way Citadel races to open up new paths, propagating respective species, in a new frontier. quarians're generally scorned by Citadel races, & the Andromeda Initiative is a Citadel project. they don't like the quarians enough to put them there, that's all. furthermore, the quarians are an insular race, most interact with other races out of necessity, not because they like to. their population is small enough as it is, their immune systems too weak to fight just about anything, & with that, sending hundreds of thousands, millions even, to a new galaxy where they'll be very likely to die off in several generations, ain't that appealing.
As someone who always plays paragon, thanks for uploading the other option!
That little smile after he tells them he will gladly watch them die is priceless lol
There's something beautiful and heartwarming about Legion telling Tai Keelah Sali
Shepard's reaction on always saving everyone. "Do as I say, or Fuck off and Die"
that geth prime sounded so inviting
"YOU ARE WELCOME TO RETURN TO RANNOCH, ADMIRAL RAAN "
Paragon: peace
Renegade: aggressive peace
"All units.. hold fire."
/shepherdsmile
3:04 man, DC Douglas does a terrific job with his voice acting right there.
That face on 4:10 :"D
I'm sure Tali would've said the same thing after her trial:
"It's fun watching you shout".
Legion: Ultimate Bro-Bot.
Javik: Ultimate Bro-Thean.
I love this game and I love Shepard, but that smile will never not be creepy
That small smile when Gerrel finally listens to him. That just tells you that the anger in his speech came from a place of love; he genuinely cared about the Quarians, and was tired of their blind actions.
Or at least this version of Shepard does since Shepards characterization is the players choice
Renegade peace sounds so much more badass than paragon peace speech.
I didn't realise that the renegade option would also lead to peace, which is why I went the paragon route.
Legions "Keelah Selai" in the end hits everytime. 😢
I was wondering if this was possible with renegade shep.... now that I know, I can comfortably keep my Renagon Femshep going at a good pace.
Cugastratos renagon shepard is best Shepard.
I'll have to try that approach next time. That sums up my feelings of the Quarians in this part of the game well.
“Never mind, I’ll tell them myself.”
Voice actor for Admiral Ra'an is Shohreh Aghdashloo, or Chrisjen Avasarala from the Expanse
Keelah se'lai, Legion.
That fucking smile
That old warhorse Gerrel had no choice but to cease all fire after that burn
When EDI explained this later that during his death, it was the only time Legion referred to himself as an individual, it made this just so much more crushing... I just wanted him and Thane to live :(
Whats the name of the music at 3:44.
Mass Effect 3: the only game that ever made you sad to see a machine die :'(
that smile right after the standown order still horrifies me
whats the music from 4:30 n?
ummm.... it's not there...what do i do to open this choice?
"I will stand and watch while the Geth lay waste" That was badass holyshit I wish I chose that!
Dem feels... I will always love Tali, whatever path mass effect may take from now on...since we have a 4 coming up on the horizon...I will never forget her...
Wow the 4 was a ounce 6 years ago
@@trla6505 that was andromeda tho
The fact that the reaper destroyer has a more intimidating voice than freaking sovereign.
"Shepard-Commander, you're not wearing an earpiece, nor even touching your ear."
Hahaha
I never really got the paragon/renegade system in this game, does it matter at all how much red/blue reputation you have, or is it literally just down to rep when it comes to charm/intimidate?? (except for the end of course)
I understand it's a game, and it's for the sake of plot and the player's choice, but wouldn't it be in reality them siding with each other be the logical thing? Like;
"Listen up, fuckers. You can go ahead and kill each other, but whoever is left standing won't matter if the Reapers kill us all anyway."
That's what really annoyed me about this part, since I wasn't able to get peace with them.
Modern day analog: "Palestine" vs. Israel
Both speeches are really effective
HOLY SHIT! That was bad ass as fuck! I think Sheppard just became my all time favorite character!
Well... at least he had the courtesy to end that speech with a "Keelah Se'lai."
Do I have to go all the way to me2 because every time I have to choose one of another
I love that shit-eating grin at the end of the speech.
