- Trusty shares one of his favorite honey holes - Thrift and Dollar in Aurora, Illinois.
Thrift and Dollar is an independently operated thrift store offering everything from antiques to contemporary in glass, metal wood, both decorative and functional. One of Trusty's favorite aspects of their store is their discounting structure. Their prices are good to begin with but then, for a lot of their smaller items, in an attempt to turn inventory more quickly, they use a colored sticker system which rotates to offer 50% off. Many items have remained in Trusty's personal collection, but most head toward Etsy or to Trusty's weekly vintage live sales on Thursdays at 8pm eastern, here on CZcams.

That place looks incredible. I loved the old fireman’s piece. There is a fire museum and they have a huge collection of those. You can never have too many coasters , so great pickups. I really love the gold painted porcelain you picked up. Great video, Patrick!

Where do they get their inventory? Nice to see that much vintage in one place. Cool William and Mary piece...you’ll have to share what you find out.
best I can tell they do estate closeouts. I know in one case there was another estate seller who was going out of business, and I shopped her closeout warehouse - the next week, items I had seen in her shop ended up here. Still working on the William and Mary... Thanks for watching!

Norman Brumm plate is a great find. There's 1 listed, same pattern, for $30.00. I love his work. My Mom had one of his bird plates but I don't know what happened to it. Are you going to list that on Ebay?
The William & Mary piece is interesting. The college colors are green, gold and white so the blue makes me believe it's not a college collectible.

Ha. This past week I seriously considered going to that bargain place next to thrift and dollar... and you know I couldn’t have stayed away from T&D... but I only had a couple hours and knew I couldn’t have gone to both so I didn’t go to either 😂
it's a struggle. I almost always end up there until they close. Then I get in line with a full cart of glass. Not sure they like me much!!! Thanks for watching
Remember when you visit the bargain place it matters which day you go. Very different experience on Friday and Saturday when they are adding inventory. Crap on Tuesday when it’s all been picked over 😂. Cheaper on Tuesday but less you’ll want. You won’t understand why it’s so popular if you go on a clearance day.
