“I’m just afraid that if I died today, that my life would’ve amounted to nothing.” That hits deep. Really deep. Can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve thought that, whether it be to myself or to my family.
On a visual level. This movie is fantastic. The fact that the lighting in the room and the motion of the two characters also portrays the story, even without words is incredible. I love the fact that she moves into the blue light when she starts to sympathize with Joe.
Shut the hell up, you are completely missing the entire point of the conversation, you cant just invalidate someone's feelings just because the other is "your mother".
misunderstandings here first no characters are built to be horrible ones even bad guys have some purposes to do so in great movies. second Joe and his dad are close, so he truly understands what his dad wants, passion in music, not just follows sort of external validation, money, I guess
@@thayslim6955joe only thinks for himself and followed a pensionless “career”. He will starve most days waiting for gigs and nothing to depend on if there is no money to pay for neccesities. Imagine you are the mother, how would I feel seeing my only son struggle to keep up financially and has stuck his head too much to what it seems to me like a hobby than a career.
god dude. i wish i watched this movie when it first came out. genuinely one of if not my favorite animated movie in the past decade. i love the message sent through this and joe gardener is such a likeable and relatable character that it almost feels like you yourself are in his shoes.

The subtle change in lighting when she steps forward is LITERAL perfection.
This has to be one of the best and most deep pixar movies ever made, i fucking love it
I wish they took it a bit more seriously. I love the stuff with Joe but the soul blobs stuff is meh. Felt like they forced it in to entertain the kids

Wow, Joe guiltripted his own mother instead of listening to her; he can eat dirt, what a horrible character.
