    I'm a subscriber from Lake Charles, LA. I have one that I got about 2 years ago on my east facing porch wherre it gets direct morning sun until about noon then shade the rest of the day gettting enough sunlight so that it is purplish instead of gray as well. When I first got it I made the mistake of overwatering it and it promptly protested by dropping 3-4 lower leaves! That's OK though, I learned a lesson without permanent damage to the plant. Each winter I bring it inside if the temperatures get into the 30's, which here in southern Louisiana is rare. It's growing like crazy and has a stalk about 6" and is 6" wide as well. I had removed a couple of bottom leaves for propogation and sure enough, I have budding growth on them already after only a couple of weeks. I will formally put them in dirt when they get a bit larger. Thanks for the tips! 🪴

      thanks for the sub Dale 😊🪴….yes I have seen your comments and I can definitely say you’re an excellent plant parent 😊..
      yes echeveria pvn are quite drama divas if they don’t get what they want …as you rightly said they can be easily overwatered …good you did the damage control it’s so important to understand the needs of each succulents..yes if the conditions are right it’s a prolific grower ..
      I usually had issue with my slightly dry environment…if I keep them exposed to direct morning sun I have make sure the soil doesn’t stay dry for long otherwise they get dark black spots on leaves and eventually they fall off …so now I have moved all my pvn’s to indirect bright light I was worried they might lose the colour but they have maintained the colour…and now they stopped getting those black spots..this is one of those succulents that I have to keep a regular check on 😂

    they grow surprisingly fast they just need tons of light(more than my other succulents). my cat knocked mine over and half it's leaves snapped in half.

      yes very true they love light …and yes your right the leaves are very delicate compared to other Echeverias they come off easily need to also be careful while repotting 😊🪴

    Hey Can you please show the change in leaf colour as the leaf shrivels. How to differentiate normal leaf shrinkage from an overwatered condition?

    Hi LG...I always have a doubt when it comes to E. pvn, E. dusty rose and E.purple, they look quite similar😅...atleast while doing online shopping.

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  Před 10 měsíci

      haha yes it’s the shape of the leaves to look out for but yes it can be quite difficult to identify online ..provided the seller is very well versed with succulents and using the right pics because most of these online websites use google images and will send something else 😂

    Any thoughts LushGardener? Mine turns brown when she gets direct sunlight. She's not burned, or damaged, she's just ugly. So frustrating. Now in the past during Autumn, she turned purple only in the very center of the crown. The rest of the leaves turn gray green. Then back to brown in summer. I'm really put out with her. She has never been pretty. I've had her for years and tired of the lack of progress. Thinking of tossing her. Any solutions?

      this can happen when the farina is lost I had few that were like this the succulent will be healthy….I had this issue when I was cleaning mealy bugs off the pvn and all the farina was lose the older leaves started to look more brown …brownish colour will be more visible during growing period and it will stress turn pink in winters ( dormancy)
      I know it’s looks ugh when it’s brown but the new leaves will be fresh
