Been struggling with hoopers (new to tying). Love the peacock herl trick you showed, thanks for that. Never thought to tie in all the legs at once and just move them over! Great tips, thanks so much. I use polypropelene yarn instead of deer hair but profile seems to matter more anyway, and yours looks great. Cant wait to tie some this way. Thanks for the video and love your website! Keep up the good work and appreciate what you do for the sport!

Thanks for the note, once you get in the rhythm tying these you can spin them out fast!

David, you are the man. I enjoy the heck out of your channel and have picked up several good tips. I wish I lived closer to you because you would be a great fishing partner, even if I had to pay you.

With foam, I find it very helpful to put some superglue down on the top of the hook shaft before I wrap in the foam. BTW orange foam bodies work well too.

A little bit of leftover tied in san juan worm mini chenille is good for slowing down foam turning on hook. It can also give one a hot spot if not totally covered.

I don't just use one layer of foam for my dry flies or hopper patterns ...in my experience this hopper will sink with just one layer of foam... Especially with adding all your other dubbing and material , water will soak into it best to double 2 layers of foam together .... I use thicker foam as well and Elk hair only and they float all day ....
