Pure Vessel legitimately made me doubt if I can actually beat them, as it really felt like my reflexes were too slow. Ultimately I did win after like 40+ tries, but fk me if it wasn't the hardest battle I've fought in a game. Also, that feeling you described of fighting Soul Tyrant's last phase without the "necessary" upgrades and on one mask left... That's relatable.

Same man base game pure vessel is the hardest boss I've ever fought in a game. If we are talking radiant fights absolute radiance took me like 300 hours so he was definitely harder than radiant pure vessel. Once I beat pure vessel on ascended I beat him like first try on radiant. Absolute radiance is easier when you have all that healing time however on radiant it's harder cause any hit in that random bullet hail and its over.

the hollow knight is probably my favourite boss fight of all time, i like pure vessel better in a raw gameplay perspective, but it's a masterclass in setting and storytelling

In my opinion the hollow night was easier than nosk I don't know why maybe I'm just bad game but I can't be bad at the game because I beat the hollow Knight on my third try but it took me 15 tries to beat nosk I don't know what the heck is going on maybe I'm just bad at the nosk fight

If you use dash slash and look up a video of someone doing it radiant it's not too impossible; I got it at about 2/3 bosses done radiant.
The Markoth fight with the floor is REALLY EASY but without the floor it gets into the TOP 5 of the difficulty ranking, plus it gets less fun than before, his random pattern is annoying AF and the worst part is that I died at least as much time if not more time to the missing floor or by him suddenly changing direction and rushing his body against me than I died from his F***ING ATTACKS...

The fight is intense, neither too easy neither too difficult.
The rythm is perfect, we can hit something almost all the time and must avoid something almost all the time.
No RNG like Absolut Radiance.
No weird hitbox like Pure Vessel.
No loss of time like NKG when he becomes a fat ball.
And ... that absolute perfect music !

I love soul tyrant he is such a fun boss to fight and I always felt he was under appreciated lots of people just write him off with he’s got annoying attacks that’s just a skill issue he’s not easy or hard he’s just fun and that’s all a boss needs to be

Ever since completing PoP and discovering the fight, I've wished Pure Vessel was at the end (with a bench right before it of course). It would be such a perfect fit, and the Kingsmoulds feel so out of place at the end.
About God Tamer, the fight remains relatively interesting with the rider dead, but if the rider existed without the beast her pattern would be identical to Toad Man's. I think the idea behind the fight is that the beast is the real boss, but the rider exists entirely to throw a wrench in the plan if you wanna rush down the beast since a ton of players will lose track of her, so a safer route would be to kill her first.
As for lore-wise why the tamer goes down immediately once you kill the beast, I always assumed she had an attachment to the beast and thus breaks down in grief once you kill it.
I always assumed she was begging you not to kill her since, you know, you’re in a gladiator coliseum

Ngl, troupe master grimm is easily my favorite boss! It was one i lost quite a few times on in my first go around, but i was smiling and having fun through the whole fight! The music is amazing, the attacks are interesting and the right level of pressure when you first fight him!

I can't rank them all, but I would definitely put Soul Master, Hive Knight low too. The areas they are in are tough, benches are 100 km away from fight and surrounded by 100 enemies. Soul Sanctum gives me nightmare flashbacks. My favorite is The Hollow Knight because it was the most emotional fight. Poor boi knight :(

a tip for nkg, when he does the dash down onto you, instead of pogoing or anything, just attack him twice when he first hits the ground, then shodow dash through him
Wait that is possible? I thought the fire trail was too long to dash through it😭
@@MilesNugget you can attack twice and then dash through him before he even dashes across the ground, it doesn't seem possible but it is trust me
(also I would suggest using sharp shadow, as it increases your dash length)

I got radiant on all bosses but pure vessel is the only boss i played multiple time in radiant because its just that fun. Its just so much fun

Amazing video! I loved how you put difficulty on a secondary degree, and only gave points when the difficulty actually added to the fun. I agree a lot with this video, but I simply cannot agree with absolute radiance at number 5. I got through a big portion of the hall of gods, I got 8 bindings on the 4 initial pantheons, I got through all the bosses on the pantheon 5 at my first try (after some training obviously) and I was determined to get the last trophy in the game. I got wrecked by Absrad, went back to the drawing board and tried training with it in the hall. I gave up. Not that I couldn't train more, it took more than 50 tries on Pure vessel to finally beat consistently, I gave up about 5 attempts later on absrad. I couldn't. Not only because I already didn't like the radiance fight that much. Just thinking about grinding so much a boss that I didn't like, was hard as balls, and it would took me at least 45 minutes of grinding at the pantheon just to have a chance of facing it for real again. It's too much of a commitment. 10 minutes on a pantheon is already a bit tiring. But having the hardest boss on the game, that you can't train beforehand, on a challenge that requires you at least 40 minutes to reach is just unfair.
I know you ranked it high because of your friend's love for the fight, and I don't know how much you have grinded trying to reach this beast, but I think it's too much.
Being hard is not the only point. I think there is a point to be made about respecting the player's time, and this was a terrible violation.

Yeah it was hard to rank AbsRad since I've never experienced him. So I had to base the placement on what I've seen and what the community thinks. And I didn't just want to be like 'it looks like a bad boss, number 46 it is' but hey glad you liked the vid :)
So maybe you're gonna hate me after I tell you this...But I beat Absrad the second time that I met her in the pantheon. I practiced so long in the hall of gods that I just felt so confident once I reached her again in the pantheon.

It was my first 'oh shit, let's go' moment with hollow knight.
Just well timed dodges, healing and combat.
A fight that will stick out for me for a while to come.
I love how consistent it feels, like you’re looping the same order of attacks over and over again and it gives the fight 🎵 RHYTHM 🎵
Reasons why the Eternal Ordeal is better than Pure Vessel.
Reason 1-Variety
It is true that gradually Pure Vessel receives 2 more attacks: Focus and Void Tendrils. But in the eternal ordeal, when you kill zotelings and more zotelings, it receives 9 MORE ZOTELINGS. You may think: But certainly Pure Vessel has more attacks than the number of zotelings in the eternal ord- WRONG. Pure Vessel has a total of 8 attacks while the Eternal Ordeal has a total of 10 zotelings.
Reason 2- Reward
Pure Vessel can give you a imense reward feel when you beat him, specially in the fifth pantheon after countless tries dying to Mark(oth) without even reaching Pure Vessel at first place. But in the Eternal Ordeal, you don't need to -beg for meycy- fight Mark(oth) to reach the challenge. You just need to do a funny little parkour. Once you reach the 57 zotelings mark the Zote statue will turn golden and then when you go back to the menu you will be contemplated with a beautiful Zote statue with a beautiful Zote cover of the tittle screen theme. Meanwhile Pure Vessel only makes you either unlock the Pantheon of -Mark(oth)- Hallownest or fight Absolute Radiance, wich, if you fail, you will need to fight all the bosses including Mark(oth).
Reason 3- Backstory.
Pure Vessel's backstory is such a cliche. His story started with Radiance making a plague, then the Pale King made countless children to make them corrupted by void and then sacrificing them to absorb all the plague. Then Pure Vessel is chosen because the Pale King thought he was pure. Then he trained his son and sacrificed him. Turns out that the Pure Vessel wasn't truly Pure Vessel he was the Hollow Knight all this time so after a while the plague returned and then the Pale King rage quitted making him and all his palace being maintained inside the dreams of one of his guards.
While Zote? Zote is a mistery. We don't know if he is an ancient god, due to all his knowledge contained in his 57 precepts. Or if he is the true dad of all the knight's siblings including the knight itself, due to the strong similarities of Zote and the knight. He also has the strange abilitiy to turn himself a god in everyone's dreams. Seem in godhome, Zote can not only include his Gray Prince version in the hall of gods but also he can make A LITERAL ETERNAL ORDEAL where there is only Zotelings, including a Zoteling that can LITERALLY DRAIN SOUL OUT OF HIS ENEMIES. Zote is truly one of the biggest and most important Hollow Knight's misteries.

Finished watching, so I'll do another comment. I'll mainly mention bosses I'd move up.
First, the worst 3 are Markoth, Obblobbles and Marmu. I was joking on that Marmu hate comment but these three are the RNG feast, and Marmu is there to take your lifeblood on P5AB or kill the run on hitless (I am attempting it now).
Soul Tyrrant I believe is underrated and an incredible boss fight, but #2 is just a stretch. But still top 10
(Sorry to tell you but the tamer is she and the traitor lord is he) Traitor lord is awesome, but I've grown to hate him, BECAUSE HE JUST WALKS INTO YOU AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, if it wasn't for that lifeblood sucking just before Markoth and hitless killing attack it would be higher.
THK is definitely top 10, I'll not talk about lore, music or ambiance, but about difficulty and movement, the 2 issues. On speedrunning it is just perfect, the dodging. But for casual, if you get there without op stuff you are going to have a great time. And the best lore of the game. Also similar to this Radiance a bit higher.
Sly I have grown to love him, he's my favorite nail master, he is just so fun to dodge and do hitless or AB. Higher.
The same applies to Zote, who I have a love hate relation with, he is now a blast to dodge, but I have trauma of 5 HOURS of consistent AB practice and tens of dead AB runs to this guy. Also higher.
And last. My top 3
Sisters (it is THE fam favorite) but I also have the same issues.

Abs rad is completely skill imo, there’s always multiple ways to approach an attack and the only way you can get unlucky is due to glitches which is unfortunate but yeah I don’t really struggle with her

Absrad easily the best fight in the game imo. So many ways to approach her, literally 0 RNG unlike what people want you to believe, amazing final phase where you can pogo on her (how cool is that?). Only gripe with her is that some projectiles are hard to see because of the bright background, which is fair.
@@MrPatrickbuit There is by definition RNG, her attacks come out in a random order...But every fight in the game has RNG so that doesn't say anything.

You mean ascended collecter with or without double damage? Because I still kill the stronger enemies in one hit (i think you need fragile strength, but everyone always has that equipped most of the time)
