  • INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAI‘I presents a series exploring the quality of life on each island, with residents from each island driving the conversations. What issues matter most to each island? These episodes are a precursor to our upcoming Election 2018 coverage. Our Quality of Life series continues with a focus on the community issues that are of most concern for O‘ahu residents.

The idea is to make everything extremely expensive so no one wouldn't get the idea to relocate to the Hawaiian islands in droves. It puts the original people in a deprived state. Thank the whitewash effect.

Sounds similar to what happened to the Native Americans. No assimilation just exclusion to the indigenous people.
Wondering if this is discussion topic is being advertised in all the vacation brochures and public service announcements and teache in the Hawaiian schools.
The main land public people should be made aware of and help assimilate modern day Hawaiian descendants and help retain ownership of their ancestral land. To sell or not to sell Hawaiian Lands should be left up to each individual original descendant Hawaiian land owner.
(AS LONG AS PEOPLE LIVE BY THE US AND THEM RULE,THERE WILL ALWAYS BE WINNERS AND LOSERS AT NO MATTER THE COST.)

.....once upon a time, 40 years ago, traffic and teenage mortality rate due to alcohol-related cause, had been in the news. A fellow Hawaii Army National Guardsman had blurted out his opinion. He said
"you know, all the private school teens, because their parents are affluent enough to afford them vehicles are contributors to the increased vehicles on Oahu roadways, especially during peak hours, and that the law has changed from once allowing drinking from age 18 in Hawaii although it had been changed via Federal edict in order to continue to receive Transportation Highway $'S during the Reagan administration.
He felt that the Solutions were apparent; Raise the Driving Age to 20-21 to remove the increased volume of vehicles, which would negate the Teen Alcohol-related deaths bringing Pono, or Balance back to Oahu island living!
.......Oh, by the way, it was a Solution brought from Portuguese wisdom!

Have any evidence or reference of that being true?

ILOKANONG DAKO That is not true! Show your evidence. Seriously with all the protocols now, and even before the current disease circumstances, was never true.
There is plenty of evidence that a number of states in the 48 were doing that to California. Your are just peddling a myth that suits your imagination.
