It's interesting and rare how the Wolverine trilogy improves with each installment.
Do we have to call it a trilogy though? That means with have to acknowledge the existence of Wolverine Origins.

I just loved that movie because the old grandpa is played by Hal Yamanouchi, which is a living legend here in Italy, Japanese-born has lived in Rome for decades and despite speaking by now perfect Italian, he still does his voice acting roles with a very recognizable thick japanese accent, he's also the Italian voice actor for Ken Watanabe and Hiroyuki Sanada and even dubbed Goro Takemura in Cyberpunk 2077
And he's 79 years old now btw.

@@franknstein5376 infatti ha sconvolto tantissimo anche me, perché quando andai al cinema a vedere il film nemmeno io mi ricordavo il suo aspetto attuale, però avevo riconosciuto ovviamente la sua voce (perché si è doppiato da solo) poi al momento dei titoli di coda ci sono rimasto di sasso 😂
Mi chiedo ancora oggi come siano arrivati a lui, non è che manchino gli attori giapponesi di una certa età che sanno recitare in inglese (tipo Takeshi Kitano) ma probabilmente non avevano più budget per assumere un nome importante 😂

Fun fact about the actress who played Yukio in this movie. She played Katana in the Arrow TV show. The DCEU version had nothing on her!
And the actress who played Mariko also played Mercy Graves in BvS. A role that was completely pointless.

It's been 7 months.! I know Danielle left. No movie reviews or discussions. Lots of downsizing over the past 5 years. A shell of what it was when Dan Muralll was involved and they had movie fights. I love Spencer and Lon. If it's just the two of them doing the commentary, that would be fine by me

Probably the most underrated X-men movie. Heck, it was easily better than any other superhero film that came out that year.
Yeah, the third act brings it down from a great movie to just a good one, but still up until then it was nice to see a slower character driven superhero film, that even managed to make The Last Stand look better, which is no small feat. Also, the bullet train sequence is one of the best action scenes in the entire franchise.
Thing is that the scene where he opens his chest to take the spider-thingy is so intense and the fight with Shingen so emotionally strong that everything after that feels just a CGI fest with no reason to be there. Pretty much the same that happened with "Wonder Woman" (2017). They didn´t need a CGI super battle with a bigger baddy.
Hard agree. I love replaying this movie. It has some of the best Wolvy fight sequences and a half way decent story to go along with it. 3rd act does get a bit silly and often have to turn off at the samurai bot fight but otherwise brilliant. Extended edition adds a nice little it of fan service to the 3rd act
“Lōgan” was nice touch.

The first really good Wolverine movie. Kind of awkward that you brought up Katana from the first "Suicide Squad" movie, since Rila Fukushima played this character in the CW's "Arrow".
