    Gute absolutely killed it in this draft. The “no first round receiver” crowd still whines, but realistically there’s no difference between taking a guy at 28 vs 34. Isn’t it better to get a first round value in the second anyway?

And you'll get him for a discount. Maybe a 1 year 7.5M with incentives to earn another 2. They'd have to add some void years(so fucking what).
      But I don't think they need to add just anyone. It's got to be someone capable of playing the X and beating outside coverage. Otherwise, we just run a lot of bunches and try to find the best way to get the ball in Watson's hands.
      He's gonna be a stud...but yes, a guy like Julio could be HUGE for us. People act like he's a 38 year old WRer who's washed. He is a guy who was still elite to start 2020, got hurt(still put up a better season than anyone on this core other than Cobb has) the 2nd half and then last year was just a disaster...but also on a much worse passing offense as the #2 option.
      Fuller or OBJ...not a fan of. OBJ maybe in November if he looks good.
      Short of that, I'd look to trade for a guy like Shenault or...maybe Corey Davis. I don't know, but I think this team right now is closer to winning a Super Bowl than any I've seen at THIS point in the year other than...ironically, after the year they won the SB.

    Not sure having a receiver that you game plan around is important. It seems it is better when the defense doesn't know who to key on. But this changes the offensive game a bit, because this will put more pressure on the QB and the pass protection, to allow the QB to go through his reads more quickly and/or more efficiently. Green Bay may be up to the task...🤔

    • @randyreading562
      @randyreading562 Před 2 lety

      @Adam-xe5xm Před 2 lety

      well he has all season. Packers will presumably walk the NFC North. Worst case scenario you over pay for an in season trade to sure up the WR position, someone with a top tier WR will realise they arent in the title conversation before the deadline. It might even be Hopkins if the Cardinals start slow, especially in a division with the 9ers and Rams.

    • @Adam-xe5xm
      @Adam-xe5xm Před 2 lety +1

      @Stone Colds Toure is a 7th rounder. Watkins can be cut with only 350k in dead money. Neither are locks to make the roster, Toure may end up on the PS. Did i say the Cardinals would 100% trade Hopkins? He is however 30 and probably right at the end of the window where he could be traded for good value. If they start very poorly they may choose to reload with picks for the next draft instead of finishing 3rd in the division and getting nothing for Hopkins. Fans never think a player will get traded untill he does. As a packers fan id rather they dont take on a bloated contract for a 30 year old receiver at the expense of keeping their vets next year but if they think it gets them over the hump i can see it.
