  • Part 2 on the Jubilee Line filmed from Bermondsey, London Bridge, Southwark, Waterloo and Westminster
All Jubilee Line Trains are formed of a 7 car 1996 Stock introduced on the line between Christmas Eve 1997 and July 2001 built by GEC Alstom and Metro Cammell now just Alstom in Barcelona and Washwood Heath in Birmingham and at the time of filming the 1996 stock were undergoing a mid life refurbishment.
Bermondsey station is located in the eastern part of Bermondsey and also serves the Western part of Rotherhithe opened on Friday September 17th 1999 and was the temporary terminus of the JLE for 1 week until the line was extended to Waterloo on September 24th. The station building was designed to enable a block of flats to be built above the station although no plans have been proceeded. The unusual feature of the station is the at the end of the eastbound platform is where natural light is able to beam down on the platforms when designed by Ian Ritchie Architects it was built in a cut and cover design.
The Jubilee Line platforms of London Bridge opened 13 days after the extension to Waterloo on Thursday October 7th. It provides interchange with the Northern Line’s Bank Branch which dates back to 1900 when the CSLR opened from Borough to Moorgate. Today's underground layout dates from a complete rebuild between 1989 and 1999. A new Northern Line southbound tunnel was constructed and rerouted in similar practices such as Euston and Angel stations. The mainline station is served by Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink services which completed a rebuild in January 2018 although the most notable feature is 'The Shard' which overlooks the main line station itself.
Southwark wasn't originally included in the original Jubilee Line extension plan however after lobbying from Southwark Council it was eventually constructed. The station itself built and designed by Sir Richard MacCormac is located on Blackfriars Road and the Cut with it being just 0.25 miles from Waterloo was built to enable interchange with Waterloo East which is served by Southeastern Trains from Charing Cross. During construction to overcome the technical and architectural difficulties two different concourses of the station was constructed at different two levels in particular the upper concourse features a glass roof that allows daylight into the station.
It was opened on Saturday November 20th 1999 the same day as the Charing Cross Jubilee Line Platforms closed, the connection of the Jubilee Line Extension between Waterloo and Green Park was completed as well as opening of the DLR extension from Mudchute to Lewisham. The station entrance on the Cut was designed to enable in the future a property development to being built, which at the time of filming was being considered along with a 2nd entrance.
Waterloo opened on September 24th 1999 and not surprisingly the Jubilee Line platforms is the deepest of 3 other underground lines Bakerloo, Northern (Charing Cross Branch) and Waterloo and City Lines that serve the mainline station.
The mainline station itself originally opened as Waterloo Bridge with just 3 platforms however the mainline station of today has 24. From May 6th 1994 to November 14th 2007 the station was served by Eurostar services, which were relocated to St Pancras International via HS1. At the time of filming, Platforms 21 - 24 were being rebuilt and they are due to be brought back into use by December 2018 to be used by services from Windsor, Reading and via the Hounslow loop etc now run by South Western Railway.
Westminster, home of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament provides interchange with the Circle and District Lines, which originally opened under the Metropolitan District Railway on December 24th 1868 as Westminster Bridge, It was renamed Westminster in 1907. The layout differs here with the Westbound and Eastbound Jubilee Line platforms having to be stacked on top of each other rather than along side to enable to support the Portcullis House office building which at the time of construction of the JLE Extension a new bridge was constructed to support the Circle and District Line Tracks which also had to be lowered by 8 inches. At a depth of 120 feet it’s the deepest station on the Jubilee Line however due to the engineering difficulties it was the very last station on the extension to open before the new Millennium that being on Tuesday December 22nd 1999.
The Jubilee Line extension opened a year late and exceeded it’s budget of £2.1 billion and in the end due to overruns from engineering difficulties as well as problems on the Heathrow Express route from Hayes and Harlington to Heathrow Terminal 4 including a Tunnel collapse in October 1994 which like the JLE also included the new Austrian Tunnelling method. The final cost of the Jubilee Line Extension in the end was £3.5 Billion.

Hi! Im only 13 so lemme tell you a story! growing up at the age of 4 i loved the London Underground. My local station was Barking. I said at the age of 5 that my favourite train was the Hammersmith & City line (C Stock) My Mum would take me to Stratford for some shopping in Westfield and the Jubilee line was also another train I loved! There used to be a train shop in Westfield and i would always ask my Mum if i can get a mini Jubilee line carriage. Unfortunately they went out of business, but I have 4. Growing up i would beg my parents to take me out just to look at trains. Im not sure if you know, but in Barking there is a little bridge over tracks that lead trains into Barking station. I would always stand there with a train in my hand and i would wave at the driver. It was great to see drivers on the London Overground (GOBLIN), District line (D stock), Hammersmith & City line (C stock). However when i was 9 I stopped my love for trains. I didnt hate it, but it was not interesting anymore because of the scrapping of the C stock. I told my dad that if the D stock gets removed ill be angry. Andddd then they replaced the D stock.... Because its me😂😂 i didnt care and i still love trains. At the moment my favorite train is the 95 Stock Jubilee line, but there is a lock on a bit of my heart that has the C & D Stock in! I really found this video interesting! Thank you!😁

Edita K nice to hear your story
One point The train in question I think you mean on the jubilee line is the 1996 stock
      Northern line is 1995 stock
Look identical, similar manufacturer but different specifications
I mean yes the underground is not really the same without the C Stock and D Stock. Although the D Stock is now being used as Class 230s D-Trains in Marston Vale Line between Bletchley and Bedford and soon will be Transport For Wales in Cardiff and also on the Island Line in the Isle of Wight as well.

Edita K d stock yes used by vivarail
West Midlands use it for Bletchley - Bedford
And eventually used for other services over the next few years

Well the motors actually on the 1996 stock don't exactly come from Alstom. In fact they are actually from a Class 465 on Southeastern which have been re-geared for better acceleration.
