Honestly there is no envy here. I used to own a couple of Cannondale Scalpels back in my days when I raced cross country, and I also had a weight wennie problem. I made one of those bikes as light as I could get at the time with the components made available. I remember using an Extralite crankset on it too. But having a bike that light resulted in a ride experience I did not like so I started adding weight back to it. It's difficult to explain but I just didn't feel like I had as much control of the bike.
There should be a balance, I agree. I always try to balance the weight, looks and performance (and price :) of all parts that I install on my bikes.
Awesome wheel set! I have a set of Carbon Ti/ duke wheels from R2 and they’re lardy by comparison at sub 1150g 😮but then they use traditional spokes and have a hg freehub.

How durable are these extralight hubs? Are they comparable in durability to an i9 Hydra or DT 240? Another amazing video!!!!

i have run extralite hubs for years, super reliable and easy to service.
Dulight sells EXTRALITE CARBOCAMBER3 BERD wheels, which are 990g.
They are 27mm internally

Great wheelset, but there are some more gramms at the nippels, taking nonnhexagonal ones...😉
BERD recommends using these nipples as spokes are stretching during the build process, so extra internal length comes into play.

Собрал такие же колеса, втулки HyperBoost3, PolyLight, Lucky Jack. Вес 930. Не колеса, а лапша. Нитки вообще не держат натяжение, колеса вечно кривые )
Переспицевал с Crazy Jack по 420 грамм, толку никакого.
