IS THIS TRUE!? | Hank Williams Jr - Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound | REACTION
#HankWilliamsJr #Country #LFRFamily
The LFR Family, LLC.
~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~ - Hudba
The Hank he's talking about is his dad Hank Williams Sr who was a famous Country artist. Rambling Man, I'm so lonesome I could cry, and Your Cheating Heart are all song titles of his Dad.
Came here to say the same. I was thinking as I picked up my phone "you don't need to say it, you know someone already said it."
Sho nuff!
Hank Jr has said the Ramblin Man song he is talking about in this song is The Allman Brothers Lord, I was born a Ramblin Man. And yes I know Hank Sr had a song Ramblin Man
Yes, that is right he's talking about his dad
I will elaborate a little more. If you listen to the words to Whiskey Bent, it says to play me a song about a ramblin man, then it goes on to say NOT to play Your Cheatin Heart or I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Hank Jr said when he wrote it he was tired of the cry in my beer songs of his dad's, he wanted something more upbeat, The Allman Brothers, Skynyrd. So while he was talking about his dad's in the last 2, the Ramblin Man song he wanted played was by The Allman Brothers.
Was going to also say the same maybe that the LFR man him self should listen to some of SR.s music
The thing I respect so much about Hank Jr. is how he followed in the footsteps/shadow of his father, who is a God like figure in country music. Jr. decided to do it his way, and at the same time, not shy away from his father's legacy. In the process, becoming a legend himself What a mentally tough, intelligent, self aware, confident, humble human being he must be to pull that off. He's just got the "it" factor that's hard to describe.
When he sings âdonât play my cheating heartâ and âold hanks songs always get me downâ he was referring to his father who was a huge country star back in the 1940s and 50s and died at just 29 years old.
âOh my daddy died when I was threeâ
@@Dgoc813 His daddy did die when he was three.
and "Ramblin' Man".
Hank, Sr., was the godfather of country music.
This is one of his all time greats like â Family Traditionâ Hank is one of the coolest dudes ever graced country music. His Dad was the first world wide country star and he followed Dafs footsteps and made his own huge mark on the music industry
Hellbound is about the sin he was committing and he can't help himself when listening to his dads (Hank Sr) music.
yup. really deep when you think about it, classic great song
I love watching the Hank videos. My great uncle was once Hank Jrs bookie, poker partner, and cell mate for a few days. I've met him a few times. Hank STILL knows how to have a good time.
Hank by Hank Williams Jr is another great song to react to. He sings fondly about his dad and misconceptions/speculations about him. It gets more emotional from there.
I just love watching you just enjoy this music for the first time. I wish I could hear some of these songs for the first time again
The "Hank Songs" that always make him feel low down are his father's songs that he mentions in the lyrics, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and "Your Cheating Heart". Hank Sr died when Hank Jr was pretty young.
This song shows the intersection of Country and the Blues.
Listen to all hank sr songs to true enjoy any hank jr songs. He plugged his daddy like 6 times. His daddy was the KING of country. Thats right. Jr is royalty. Bless you! God is not only for those who congragate . He is up above and down below . He is love.
Your appreciation, respect and take aways from what is so sadly society driven division of different genre's of music is refreshing. Music is an expression from all human beings. The experiences that life deals us all is inclusive. As the sun sets for everyone of us each day, we need to realize that we all have struggles. Appreciation for all music allows us to be more humble and respectful. Thank You Sir!!
Yes
The end about ol Hank's songs make him feel is about his daddy's music.
Love your reactions man. Keep it up. Much love to your family.
I would like to see you react to Robert Randolph and the family. Southern Gospel , sacred steel player
That's q great one. When I watched them in concert holy sheet. Randolph family different than anything
Hank Jr. is probably the most pedigreed musician in American history. He has known and played with everyone from the 1950's through the 1990's. His introduction to the world as the reincarnation of Hank Sr opened every musical door to him in the late 1950's and 1960's. As he grew up and wanted to do his own kind of music, he was torn, between family, music labels, managers, the public, and his own musical ambitions. The torment of all these pressures culminated in an accident in which he fell over 100 feet from a mountaintop in Montana, completely destroying his face. He emerged from this experience as a new kind of artist and became the man we now know as Hank Junior. They said he'd never sing again, he thought a lot about his friends, 'cuz when your shot down and out, you don't get many calls, but he saw some tears in some eyes, soon his poor old mother would die, he nearly lost it all, when he lost his grandpa.
I really love your reactions. You're so open minded and understand the appeals of various types of music. I truly appreciate you.
Hank Sr was the GOAT of country. Jr is singing about how listening to his dadâs music tears him apart and then he ends up getting drunk and misbehaving.
Van, another great âhistoricalâ song:
Waylon Jennings and Hank Jr - The Conversation
greatest country singer ever
Dude back in 83 - 84 I was working for True Gritt Productions. It was just me and the boss. We were small time but making some connections. Anyway at a Hank Jr. Concert we got invited back to his bus after the show. That was cool enough but then we got invited to a party in LA where he actually had a pig in the ground! Epic
Did he have some beer on ice & all his roudy friends coming over that night?? Lmao Great memory to have!! đ€đ€đ€
@@jewls9697 and all his rowdy friends too
@@scottdarden5808 That's what I just said!! Would Love me a Hank jr Party!!
That is exciting! I saw him in Sacramento on his Lone Wolf tour and he was fantastic. Would have loved to go to a Bocephus bash.
This is the country I love. This is country music that speaks to you that they're telling you a story. It was like their version of preaching back in the day. Makes me want to get a pint of liquor
Beat ya to it
Got a Busch in my hand đ
Yes....exactly
Hank Williams Sr is widely considered the father of country music " I'm so lonesome I could cry" and " your Cheating Heart" were just 2 of his biggest hits Hank Sr died in the backseat of a Cadillac on the way to a show due to back problems he had additions that contributed to his death . Check out a song called "The Ride" by David Allen Coe RiP Hank đâ„ïž
Sorry but you are wrong. Jimmie Rodgers is called or considered the father of country. But the truth is country was born out of churches all over the south. My Grandfather was a pretty big part of the country music industry, and Hank Williams Sr. was seen as a great artist but also as an unreliable drunk. Hank was loved by the fans but was not even the biggest star of his day. He got bigger after his death. My Grandfather knew him and was involved in Country Music at the time. Im not trying to shit on your comment but there is way way to much false information on the internet and while I don't know what's true or false about lots of things I do know about this from someone who was there.
@@chrisandjulli hardly anybody considers Jimmy Rodgers the âFatherâ of country music, but you. Lmao
@@Amaberean My Grandfather Co-Founded NSAI and was head of Jim Reeves enterprises as well a a litany of other things that are to numerous to mention like Joan Baez writing songs about him, and close friends like Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and many many others. And you obviously didnt read my comment. It outlines the roots of country very well. But hey I guess being raised around the greats of country music leaves me in the dark. lololololol
Jimmie Rogers is the Father of Contry Music, Hank Williams is the Hillbilly Shakespeare, Roy Acuff is the King of Country Music, Kitty Wells is the Queen of Country Music. George Jones was the King of Broken Hearts. When Hank first hit big they called him the Lovesick Blues Boy.
If by back problems and complications you mean a heart attack induced by chronic cocaine and upper abuse, then you are correct.
You always make me smile. Thank you. Been having a rough time
Hope everything gets better Cathy! Glad to help a lil bit
@@LFRFAMILY Hello!! the worlds first black country music duo plus they are spearheading a new genre called # Country Trap so go ahead and react to this fun hilarious song czcams.com/video/8B58nxWsFi8/video.html
You sing anytime brother! You do you!
Yes brother...my favorite country blues song
I'm in the same boat as you in the WAS into the church scene for a long time. I can feel the pain that is in your voice when you say was..... we both know that we need to be back right. Hope we both get back where we know we belong before it's too late!!!!
Mad respect bro. Music is the language that we all speak. Good music speaks to the soul, no matter the genre. Keep up the good work!
Hank Williams jr country state of mine you will love it
Hank Jr. songs just get the mood to have fun. He is a legend, for good reason.
Now THAT"S Country. Haven't heard this song in decades. Love it.
This reminds of being a kid and going with Dad and friends when they were playing bars. It's the country I was raised on. This song is the epitome of country music. Fiddle and steel guitar. Drinkin' and cheatin'. It's a perfect song to have on your "Depressed and Lonely Drinking Songs" playlist.
Love Hank Sr and Jr
at the end when he mentions "your cheatin heart" that is one of his dad's song, not talking about himself, he is talking about his dad, Hank williams sr, you should give him a listen! he is the godfather of country music and my favorite singer
Spent Many of weekends dancing to this IN the BARS after the rodeos .. đ„°đ„°đ
I went to my first concert in October and it was hank Williams jr dope concert all the country folk was very generous give me sum good smoke and good drank was a couple rows away from em fun ass time
Got listen to Family Tradition!!! Anything Hank Jr. does, is amazing.
@@mattbecham597 Well then, I'll look for it and check it out.
Thanks, for the heads-up Brother. đđŒ
Found it, did it, and loved the response đđŒđđ»!!
Thanks again â!
He was mentioning his daddyâs songs. Playing cheating heart or so lonesome I could cry was Hank sr songs and they would make him sad and he would get drunk and self destructive(hell bound).
Hank Williams junior while being lit split and halfway gone had an accident on a ski slope busted his head open and almost blead to death he's had a rough life, but hes lived a life it is what it is. He's a regular man with all the problems. And he's fire đ„.
Any time I walk in a bar; the first thing I play on the juke box is Whiskey River(willie) and this song is always second. I guess I love my whiskey songs!
I saw him live twice. He puts on a great show
I was raised Southern Baptist, I no longer walk through those doors. I feel zero shame for it. The music was never an issue lol
I'm so addicted to drinking
Luckily I've never tried anything else
But you don't know how much pain I have in my heart
And I can't beat
And yes I'm a smoker of Newports also
Everyone thinks I'm so mental when really I just want to be heard without being yelled at and talked down to so I putt a smile on my face
Been Bullied My Whole Life

@@bubbaturner4784 I hope that your voice gets heard soon. You deserve peace. Being gay, is not a sin. Having mental disabilities, is not a sin. No one wants to be talked over or treated like they donât belong. Society sucks, as do judgmental hypocrites. But we canât let them win. Youâve got this.âđœđ
@@emmett-amber5456 Don't lie to the man Amber, of course, it's a son, don't try to put your indoctrinated beliefs in the place of the Hoy God. And all of that sins come from not obeying God what only desires for us to b like unto Him through Jesus Christ. Hes no worse off than a wife-beater, or a cheater, or a liar, or a thief, but all will be judged very soon, including you, no matter what you believe. Satan is your god.
@@MrRondonmon your comment is so ironic. Peace and love friend.
@@emmett-amber5456 his comment was true
I appreciate your perspective on this song!
Itâs really country dope!
But it really speaks to today even though itâs many years old!
You all right!đ
Awesome reaction, as always. Thank you. I hate to hear you're not in church, anymore, but I understand how things sometimes change. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to pray for your hiatus to be short. I just hate to see anyone lost.
His dad is the country legend!
No better drinkin song was ever written. Country soul . Bocephus forever đ”
I like how the brotha listening to the music gets it when clearly ALOT of this is new to him! Hank Jr was in a different league!
Great reaction as always man!
Appreciate it!!
Man I love it!!! You can't go wrong with Hank!! Another good one is "O.D'd in denver"!
He actually plugged his father's songs, Hank Williams Sr., throughout the lyrics.
His mother put him on stage dressed like his father, when he was 8. He did the soundtrack for an movie about his dad at 14. He was partying from the word go.
There is a strong influence of gospel on Country music. You need to listen to Hank Williams, Sr. IâM SO LONESOME I COULD CRY. It will tell you everything you need to know about Country music and itâs roots.
I love this song
You don't sound foolish. When you sang a bar or two in the beginning you harmonized really well. I was raised Southern Baptist in the same First Baptist Church Johnny Cash and family went to. I can hear what you're saying.
Lost highway by hank Williams is one of my favorite songs
That thing you pointed out about everyone gettin' to play their bit is actually the trademark of Bluegrass Music. Everybody in the band gets to play their take on the melody. And he's not talkin' 'bout his songs, he's talkin' about his daddy's songs, "Your Cheatin' Heart" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". Check 'em out! Hank Williams Sr. His son Hank III has some good tones too.
I love u reacting to Hank...đ„°
Yo my guy. He was not plugging himself at rhe end of the song. He was speaking of a legend. His father Hank Williams. The original outlaw of country music. You should check out a song called "The Conversation." Its a duet with Hank Jr. and Waylon Jennings. I think it will help you understand some of the history.
I'll second that suggestion, great tune by two friends and two legends!
Haven't heard any other of your reactions except for the Hank Jr songs. You got a sub from me. Anybody who likes Bocephus is good enough for me!
That's why it's so good!!!

Awesome reaction and connection with Gospel music.
Gotta appreciate your appreciation! Good is good right!
You're right on the money about the southern church sound.
Merle Haggard once said that the Nashville sound came out of the church and the Bakersfield sound came out of the honky tonks.
A lot of Country music has roots from old gospel music and blues. Cool to see you pick up on some of that.
Loved the song and reaction itâs cool you listen to country and like it special the old country music so thank you đđ»
This one is deep!!!! Oh man, mission bbq?!!!!!! Love that place!!!đ
Just imagine a bar with a wooden floor and pool tables. Neon beer signs scattered around. People going in after work (manual laborers), a local crowd where most everybody knows everybody. That's where you would find this playing on the jukebox. Now you should listen to Old Habits. Same artist.
Nobody could party like Hank Jr, he lived his songs and almost died in 1973.
I like reaction vids to country songs because of what you said at the beginning, you exposed yourself to hank and if your down to really listen to it then you get that feeling you canât describe, itâs just that ugh hits a spot you never had hit before, then hearing it in public and being like thatâs my jam!!! Obviously everyone isnât going to like it but the old country songs like that I think they are more like soul country
Fun fact my Dad went to school with Hank Sr . Every year I go to Hank Williams day in what we Alabamians call LA, Lower Alabama
Rockin that old school Expos hat!! Love it! I recently bought one as well!!
Hank Jr is a living legend. Appreciate him
You are refreshingly incredible!
That flat Steele mixed with fiddle , Les Paul. Chill bumps a country boy .đŻ
'I think I can use my context clues' made me crack up. My daughter got me a tshirt that says whiskey bent and hellbound on it. I get so many remarks on it lol
He is plugging his Daddy, Hank Sr. I'm so lonesome I could cry, Your Cheating Heart and Rambling Man
Another great Hank Jr song is Last Pork chop.. and side note here, your ad for the wallet was just shown, and love that there is another Bartenura fan, amazing Moscato.
The sound is a 16 beat progression --- we used to call an inside out run (1st - 4th - 1st - 5th - rinse - repeat) then a break up (usually 1st - 4th - 5th - 1st)
Country music has been called 3 chords and the truth.
Hank Jr. has such an awesome catalog of music to explore. While his greatest hits are the first ones for first time listeners to gravitate to, I think my favorite Hank Jr. album has got to be "The Almeria Club Recordings." I think is got more of a stripped down jam-session vibe than a typical studio album. "Big Top Women" is always a fun to listen to song.
Hank Jr. started singing when he was just a little kid with the fame of being Hank Williams Sr's son. And, in the stereotypical "child star" fashion, he grew up, cut loose and lived a very rowdy life as a young adult. (Look up the story about getting drunk and the fall from a mountain that almost killed him as a young adult.)
hanks the man!
Hank is real , sings about real things.
Do your Thang! đ Respect
5 time Country Music Entrainer of the Year
LOVE IT
That was a plug for his dad he listed several of Srs songs also.
The worst time Hank ever had was when he was Strait Sober and fell strait down a Montana Mountain and had his face totally broke and misshaped by that fall .
Yep. Then he wrote a song about it called All in Alabama. Habits Old and New was, and still is, a damn good album. One of my favorites of his.
It was Ajax Mountain.
Hank turns up the heat for a stand out vocal performance here
Sounds like hold me tight music to međđ Move me slowly across the floor âđđ
Hank Jr and Sr OGs fr lol the 3rd does it his own way too
LFR FAMILY.. I LOVE U BRO...YR THE BOMB..
Enjoyed the reaction! I love Hank Jr. This is one of my faves for sure. Makes me wanna have a couple mixed drinks with my husband and dance with him around the house some â€
Hank was singing about how hanks songs make him feel real low down..he meant his daddys songs. Hank Sr How Lonesome I Could Cry and Your Cheating Heart. If your up to it, listen to those. Some deep loved country classics. And old country does have major gospel sound and blues sound in it. I love old country. Im not too fond of new country. Enjoyed alot man!!
Love your personality!!!!!đ
Love the Expo's cap... styling
He wrote songs for ZZ top and Lenard skynard he is a legend
I'm singing right along with you
Did anyone else immediately go right into "If heaven ain't a lot like whisky" right after the song was over or just me?
Thank you Van
Country music did spring up from gospel. And you're the first to say anything about what it sounded like that I know of
Iâve heard you sing on many different reactions, you sing greatđ
