Oshodi/Isolo: Okey-Joe Changing The Narratives With A Medical Care

The current economic crisis and inflation may have eroded citizens' confidence in the country. However, some government policies, organizations, and political individuals 'flash the torch of hope'.
In this vein, a commendable effort to support his constituents amidst the ongoing economic crisis, Hon. Okey Joe Onuakalusi, Federal House House of Representative representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, organized a three-day medical outreach providing free healthcare services.
The three days event, held at the Unveiling Power Multipurpose Hall, from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday, June 29, 2024, witness hundreds of residents receiving essential medical attention.
The outreach program, which spanned three days, offered a wide range of medical services aimed at improving the health and well-being of the community. Services provided included eye tests, malaria tests, HIV tests, sugar tests, cervical screening, Widal tests, hepatitis B screenings, vital signs monitoring, and breast cancer screenings, among others.
Hon. Okey-Joe in his address, emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare, especially during times of economic hardship. He stated his commitment to the people and introduced some of the officials and their roles.
"Everyone coming out here for the 3days will be tested and attended. Those who need glasses will be given, if there are ailment that can not be handled here, relax", he assured constituents that "such will be referred to a more standardized medical center for adequate care at a subsidized amount", Hon. Okey-Joe said.
The medical outreach was well-received by the constituents, who expressed their gratitude for the initiative. Many beneficiaries highlighted the significance of the free services, noting that it provided them with much-needed relief and health support during a period of financial strain.
This initiative by Hon. Onuakalusi underscores his dedication to the welfare of his constituents, showcasing the vital role of lawmakers in addressing the immediate needs of their communities.
