- Critical Universal Battery Review (Wireless Tattoo Power Supply)
I am always excited to try new tattoo equipment, and when Kingpin tattoo supply reached out to me to review these Critical Universal Batteries I jumped at the chance. Using a wireless power supply for your tattoo machine is very freeing and I would recommend trying it no matter the point of your tattooing career you are at.

Axys Valhalla - After A Year Of Use Review
• Axys Valhalla - After... - Jak na to + styl
Wireless just feels so good. Will never go back to the cord. NEVER!!! I love how you ended the video. Much love from Uruguay ❤❤❤
Tyler. Thanks for the review. Been looking at these but wondered about use with Valhalla. Seemed like it was making machine super long. If balance is still good, Awesome.
looks amazing and smaller then expected and being from critical must be quality , for now i have to stay connected to the clipcord but hopefully one day i can invest in these. great video man greetz from the Netherlands
Time wise it all depends on a few things what voltage you run and the motor of the machine like the valhalla has a 10watt motor where others have say a 6 watt motor.
I use my bishop packer as my liner and well packing black and color, and shading I use my hawk pen, im usually between 7.8-8.3 volts on the bishop and im pretty sure it would last pretty close to 10 hrs at least 8
I can update on time once my valhalla get in either today or tomorrow. Now what I dont like and its only on my 3.5mm battery for the cheyenne hawk. It dosnt have that tight fit like on my rca machines, it hasn't effected performance at all just a little irritating.
You have a good day as well! Was debating on getting a Sol Nova Unlimited or FK Irons Flux to go wireless buuuut now I have something else to put on the list and stress over what I should get. lol
The choices are so stressful! Lol they keep coming out with cool stuff too fast.
Good luck
I have both the flux and sol nova unlimited the flux has he e give feature coming out the sol nova has the responsive mode which I like a lot more for the way I tattoo
I'd like to know where to get an extra battery for the Mast Amy Tour. These won't work, will they?
These product saying "This items is not eligible for Air Shipment" how they send it out side USA?
I use these on my bishop wand. Love em. You can hold the button down and it will speed up to the voltage you need. Instead of pressing the button over and over. I usually wrap my in barrier film
They are awesome for sure !
And thanks for the tip!
Do you know if there are problems with kickstarting cartridges on Low Voltages (when stippling). I use the Bishop Wand Liner and Packer.
@@PatrickJasonMagic if say start it at a higher voltage, then bring your voltage down to your preferred setting. I've noticed it will stop or not even Kickstart
@@kaidenrodriguez16 Are you overall happy with them and get this problem a lot? As a sollution just let it run and don't stop it too much when I'm stippling? Does it have problems with cheyenne (stiffer membrane)
@@PatrickJasonMagic yea I still use them and are happy with them. I have the bishop battery, and honestly use them more then my bishop battery. But yea Kickstart them at a higher voltage, then bring them down to your preferred voltage. Especially with a stiffer membrane cartridge
Does this have a run timer?
Could you do videos for coil users? I love how informative your rotary videos are would love to learn as much about coils also
I haven’t used coils in about 6 years. I honestly wish I knew more about coils. The guy I learned from mainly used rotary so that’s what I learned!
@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial that's a shame, I know enough to get by but would love to learn more in depth about them
@@lukedorrington7455 same. I know enough to use them but I never built my own or anything
Do you think you could use a RCA extension cable between the battery pack and machine?
If the power cable had male/ female RCA connections, sure. But the power cable you would use to run a machine off a power supply will not work - wrong connection on the power end.
How can i buy this battery
I've been looking at these battery packs for awhile now. I would love to pick one up, but it's that price that's standing in the way right now .. do you think there's a difference between these and the ones Amazon's selling?
I would say if you are serious about tattooing they are worth it.
They are backed by a trusted company, opposed to the amazon ones.
I had cheap ones before and they are hit or miss. Some have voltage fluctuation problems. I’ve even heard of some damaging machines. Never experienced that but I’m not trying to lol
I've had massive voltage fluctuations with my one when using a Neuma 4. Not happy. Maybe I got a dud one? Oh, and the battery life at 7 volts is probably close to 5 hours or less....
You must have got a dud.. mine hasn’t done that at all.
And different machines require different power. So everything’s battery life will be a little different usually
Damn imagine trying to tattoo in prison with that beeping sound? Just think about it for a sec
Hi, do you have any experience with inkjecta flite nano and the critical battery. Does it throw the balance off, because the RCA plug of the inkjecta is kinda wierd angle. Thank you
I use to have one. They will work with it I’m sure, but that is a very light machine so it will definitely change the way it feels
The question is will you mind or not ? Lol
Have u had issues with the battery pack not sitting tight enough? The power goes on and off for me and the batttery pack does NOT feel secure at all. Feels like it will fall off any second.
Not at all. Mine is super tight. Maybe try pinching the connector a little tighter with pliers.
Hi Can you give me the article number of the large sleeve cover you use, cause I dont see it at painful.... thanks

@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial Thanks you very much! you rock!
No problem !
Do you by any chance how to deactivate the jump start feature? I just got a pair and they always kick start my machine
I believe you hold down the up and down buttons at the same time?
So i actually contacted critical they said that these newer versions of the batteries come like that and have no way to shut that option off also that theyre working on newer versions of the batteries that can shut that function off .. they recommend starting the machines at a lower voltage lol, hope this helps anyone also thanks for your help man.
@@thefreak408 oh wow that’s weird lol thanks for sharing !
Just hold the button down to quickly cycle thru voltage
Yes I knew that, it still makes the beeps tho.
@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial gotcha. Great video, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the great video's. Do you know if there are problems with kickstarting cartridges on Low Voltages (when stippling). I use the Bishop Wand Liner and Packer.
I can’t speak for the packer but they don’t go super low voltage. They will only go to 4.5 volts. But I never had a problem with them starting up carts at that speed with the liner
@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial That sounds great. Cheyenne cartridges seem a bit stiffer (as they say), no problems with starting them up at 4.5 volts with the liner?
Hello did you mention how long they last by your experience??
You "only" got 6 hours because the Valhalla's have a higher draw. The Bishop Wand I run around 8 - 9 volts gets me about 10+ hours. It's voltage and machine dependent on range. These packs are the best!
That’s good to hear! I just got the wand liner. I’m excited to see what they can do together
Do you know if there are problems with kickstarting cartridges on Low Voltages (when stippling). I use the Bishop Wand Liner and Packer.
@@PatrickJasonMagic you cannot kickstart with critical battery, than you need the b-charged bishop battery
@@simonkristiansen960 Im beginner. I just got the Bishop Packer. Whats best battery for this please? Thanks.
@@charlessims9160 hey, the absolut best is the new b-charged v2, from bishop. Absolutly amazing, and got more features than the critical. So the b-charged, or critical, both awesome. But prefer b-charged v2 > critical .. I can run about 12 hours straight on 9v's with the packer.
You should have a small bloopers video
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to start a collection
@@ThatTattooGuyOfficial ya you make great content and some of it is very funny the package unboxing was awesome..I did one small funny video I accidentally had on another shop shirt when I went to my shop but I just snapped my fingers and made a funny yt video
Reviews on dragonhawk? Or general opinion on them? All their equipment seems waaaaaayyy too cheap
That’s why I’ve never tried them. They seem too cheap. I want to give my clients the best, so I would rather spend a couple extra hundred bucks on something I know is quality ya know ?
