The R230 generation Mercedes-Benz SL was revealed at the Geneva Auto Show to great fan far with its updated sophisticated styling and range topping SL63 AMG model. Featuring a 6.2L V8 producing 518hp and 465 lb-ft of torque and features a plaque with the name of the technician who assembled it. Putting all that power to the ground is a seven-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission with a locking differential. An optional $12,500 P30 Performance Package was available that offered 19" AMG wheels, AMG limited-slip, AMG compound brakes, AMG steering wheel, an AMG track-calibrated active body control suspension, and raised the top speed limiter to 186mph.
This SL63 AMG was sold new at Euro Motorcars of Germantown, MD to a buyer from Palm Springs, CA. It is beautifully finished in Iridium Silver Metallic over an Ash AMG Premium Leather interior. It is equipped with $20,870 in options for a total MSRP of $159,265. These options included the $12,500 P30 Performance Package, $3,050 Premium Package 1 which offered active multi-contoured and ventilated seats, keyless-go, and a power operated trunk, $2,230 for Distronic, $1,950 for a panoramic roof with sunshade, and $1,140 for Parktronic.
The original Palm Springs, CA owner registered it in Conner, MT and would retain it for the next 6 years with regular service intervals conducted by Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs, CA. On 2/5/2016 it was acquired by its second owner from Desert Hot Springs, CA with an estimated 29,000 miles. The second owner retained it for the next 2 years, also having it regularly serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs, CA. On 1/10/2018 it was acquired by its third owner from Palm Springs, CA with an estimated 55,000 miles. The third owner retained it for the next 3 years, who continued to have it regularly serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs, CA. On 11/12/2021 Exotic Motor Cars of Palm Springs, CA acquired it with a reported 79,557 miles. On 4/20/2022 it was acquired by its fourth owner from Fort Myers, FL with a reported 79,623 miles and subsequently registered it in Plymouth, MI. This fourth owner is a long-term client of ours and has retained us to offer it on consignment as he downsizes his fleet of vehicles and today it presents with 80,781 miles.
It comes complete with all the books and manuals, the original brochures in PDF format, both original working key fobs, a set of WeatherTech floor mats, and the original tool kit still installed in the trunk. Great car… unique combination: it’s a coupé, a cabrio - with such a nice V8. And it is big enough to carry some luggage, and you are not squeezed inside… unlike in many cabrios.
