The Danish Fort in Tharangambadi, built in the early 17th century, stands as a testament to this colonial past.
The Danish East India Company established a settlement here in 1620, primarily for trade purposes. The fort was constructed to protect the Danish trading post and served as a center for their commercial activities in the region. It was strategically located on the Coromandel Coast to facilitate trade with India.
Today, the Danish Fort is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into the colonial history of the region. The fort's architecture reflects a blend of Danish and Indian influences, making it an intriguing site for history enthusiasts and architecture aficionados alike. It's also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "The Danish Settlement at Tranquebar."

Nice video Brother! I also recently visited Velankanni however I stayed at a budget hotel. I had a beautiful experience in velankanni I also visited the Basilica of our lady of good health the main (Velankanni Church) and the shrine canteen and the food there was divine. The streets of Velankanni were loaded with vendors selling some lip smacking breakfast and snack items I tried most of them. My experience was hearty and the people in Velankanni were so humble and kind. I feel so blessed with our Mother Mary’s blessings 😇 Your wonderful video just brought back the beautiful vibes.
