If you are reading this, don't give up, you will eventually feel the rhythm. I am just kind of getting it, but its definitely achievable and i don't even play much piano. Good luck!
Now I see it (@4:26): He presses two white keys with one thumb. Everything is possible with Boogie Woogie!! Thanks, I'm learning a lot!! After learning classical stuff, this seems to be my next challenge.
Awesome ,lesson ,imbe rocking when ilearn this wooo ho.thank you dr k !for all you do on lessons !!good piano teacher and player ,greatest king uf boogie woogie !!
If you’ve been following his channel for a while and practicing some of the other basic stuff like the chop and hammy’s boogie, then yeah it is pretty beginner
You're pulling me into boogie woogie piano and there's nothing I can (nor want to) do to fight it. You make it look so easy too. Each time I watch one of your public piano vids, I get pumped to play some myself but it never sounds as natural as when you play. I'm sure I'd improve a lot if only I could locate middle C.
Dear Doctor K. Thank you very much for your precious tutorial, they are remarkable. I have a question. Do you have a tip for the right hand tremolo during left bass? Thanks a lot. Christian
Dr. K, how much time you've been playing boogie woogies? Did u study music in university? How are you so great!? I want to be like you. A big fan from Colombia✌️
Gotta say something nice about this one. The way the tritone between the minor 3rd and the 6th resolves into that top third is an essential harmonic lick for boogie woogie, and this whole riff can be pretty easily transposed to every key. I'm not sure a beginning piano player would have it easy here, but maybe he means a beginner in boogie woogie. Either way, it's a killer little riff. Many thanks, Brendan.
Nice lick . The Bb-E is a flattened fifth or tritone or even 'diabolis in musica' - but whatever - it's functioning as the flat7 - major third of the IV chord I think .
thank you for your lessons and just like to point and thank the evolved camera man into a "camera person" does she have a normal regular name. you may just write it down as they regularly do in the movies ( respect) after all she is the one who's recording your great work.
am if it mentioned to put some extras next to basic . its that actually mean press anything in the blues scale or improv stuf is still decent key notes
I don't have room either but decided to start learning anyway. I bought an 88 key ( I think the term is weighted key) electronic keyboard from Amazon for $200 and was practicing on my lap in front of the PC watching tutorials from Brendan, Terry Miles, and some others. I decided I wanted a shorter one also for the basic learning on my lap and I got a 61 full size key for about, I think it was $130 or so. The 61 key generally are for kids and have closer keys and not weighted, I did find one that does have full size and weighted(which means the harder you hit the key the louder it sounds, just like a real string piano) If you comment back to me I can dig up the links from Amazon for you.
It's been two months practicing this, I can play both boogie woogie left & the right hand riff but I still can't synchronize my left and right hand together like him, any clue how to play it?
you have to just practice it together. I thought I couldn't do that too, but I tried and it only took me a few minutes everyday. After one Week I am able to play that
I need help, whenever I try to play like this I forgot about my left hand I play in the same rhythm like in my right hand wich doesn't sound good even when I play slowly. How can you practice this ?
Angry Leon Primarily buddy it takes practice to be able to command both hands to play something different from each other. I recommend you start with the chop in the left hand and begin to experiment with your right hand with a riff that is easier for you to combine with the chop. Once you play this style of music long enough you will begin to develop your ability and then you can move on to more difficult combinations of left and right hand riffs. Check out some of his other videos to help find a riff combination you can play well and practice it to develop your skills. Best of luck!
Watch someone play over and over. Ignore people's comments. Believe that GOD will do the rest. Get a keyboard because it's cheaper. Practise everyday. And remember to have fun😊
you know what's really tricky for me? going up or down an octave because my hands are so small I literally have to maximally stretch them to span 1 octave... :(
If you are reading this, don't give up, you will eventually feel the rhythm. I am just kind of getting it, but its definitely achievable and i don't even play much piano. Good luck!

This is great, I never heard pianists play rock, like this, usually its classical. Have been listening to Memphis Slim, who is Dr. Johnson?

What’s the best way to learn the patterns for improving boogie?
just practice everyfucking day. There is no trick actually
