Retired last year at 68. Electric piano for Christmas and found your boogie woogie seris. I think you are fantastic. I have such a long way to go but maybe by the time I reach 90 I will be able to play one. Have nothing but time. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos/music!

+Anthony Fuentes Hi Anthony, you have time to practise, so there's no reason why you can't become a proficient boogie player in a relatively short amount of time! Just get into a rhythm with your practice and you will soon build momentum. Boogie will keep you young! DR K

Mary P. I use the Boogie all the time took classical. You can do the left hand almost straight timing. I think he demonstrated it elsewhere but the pattern is basically a c6 cega. You play the cg and ca together. The four chord is based on f6. This style will push hand Independence. There is a walking base boogie shuffle.. c e g a bb a g e c.. that the right hand plays alot off the same notes. Now that boogie sounds like one and a two and a .. I find Brenden to be an excellent teacher .

Cheers! I'm 4 days in right now. I unfortunately have a lot of free time on my hands due to a car accident 4 years ago but only recently found a passion for the piano and more so for boogie woogie, it brings happiness to my soul. Absolutely in love. This helped me tremendously! I've been practicing play the bass with the rift, something just didn't sound right with the rift for me when I would go back and compare on lesson 4. I wasn't hitting that Eb right after the G. Sounds perfect. I'm* determined to master this by the end of this April.

You should be able to play a variety of left hand boogie riffs, don't just get stuck on one because you've practised it so much. It sounds you need to practise several different boogie left hands - don't obsess on one. See lessons 1-3 of How To Play Amazing Boogie Woogie Piano on this channel. BK

The best approach is to get the B.A.B.W.B. Study it and learn it then use these videos more for polishing your tempo and sound dynamic, ie..accent on the back beats perhaps. The bundle scores in hand you can chop it up into smaller learnable pieces. It will come together. You’ll be improving it before you know it

If you do not understand I recommend that you learn the minor blues scales and practice them along with chords to learn slow 12 bar blues improvisation. Once you are comfortable come back to these videos.

I spend all day yesterday sweating over a hot piano (and tablet) trying to work out the fifth chord riff of Hammy's boogie from your "Amazing" Boogie series after dutifully purchasing your Bad Ass Boogie book...and here you present a much easier, clearer riff which to me sounds even better.
Just a minor gripe - I think what you're doing is fantastic and incredibly useful. I'm just a bit confused as to which series of your clips I should be starting with and in what order?

Great music Dr K, l’ve only recently discovered Boogie Woogie and l’d really like to learn how to play it.
A friend has given me a Yamaha keyboard, though it only has 61 keys, would this be suitable or should l look for an 88 key?
I have no musical talent as yet, but l’m determined to try to master Boogie Woogie with your help.
