Elwha River at Old Lake Mills - November 26, 2020

An 11.5 mile day hike originating at the Madison Falls entrance of Olympic National Park in the Elwha River Valley.
The Olympic Hot Springs Road is closed to vehicular traffic at the park entrance after a large washout about a mile upstream.
A temporary foot/bicycle trail bypasses the road washout during a 3.5 mile journey to the Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook.
Beginning at the old Boat Launch parking lot, the hiker can continue south on the Smokey Bottom Trail or a newer access trail that leads to the old Lake bottom, which is rapidly filling with vegetation.
