Catastrophic situation in Austria now: Flood washes away everything in its path

After severe damage caused by hail and heavy rain the previous day, another storm hit Styria (Austria) yesterday. Videos on social media showed catastrophic scenes of cars being swept away by floodwaters and pinned against houses. People who were trapped in the water were forced to escape the turbulent flows on the roofs of their cars.
The Greater Graz area was particularly affected, where city streets turned into raging rivers. Heavy, incessant rain overflowed the Bösebach River, causing the city center to flood.
The beginning of summer 2024 was a real disaster for the European part of the Eurasian continent. Earlier in Germany, in the Bavaria region there was extensive flooding due to the failure of 2 dams. Also over the past week, floods have occurred in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Russia and some other countries.
