- Why do we pray north east in Toronto?
Why do we pray North East in Toronto when the map clearly shows that Mecca is South East? A quick educational video.
Feedback and criticism is always welcome smile emoticon Also, feel free to share.
As salamu aleykum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barrakatuhu.
Flying to Makkah is different than facing the qibla. To fly there, airlines look for the shortest distance to save kerosene, but for praying facing the qibla is a requirement.
Allah swt says in the Quran.
“so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haraam (at Makkah). And wheresoever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction”
[al-Baqarah 2:144]
Makkah is southeast of North America. The shortest route would direct a person toward the north pole.
If you're flying to Mecca you go north, and then southeast. Look at the globe or a map we're literally north of the equator and Makkah is closer to it than us.
Allah swt knows best.
That's how we decided. The shortest distance? I dont know why that doesn't set will with me.
Doesn't make sense to me
Very interesting maulana. Wasi
excellent video
If you use logic: canada and north america are situated near north pole (cold area) while Mekkah is near the equator (hot area). The equator is definetly below the north pole = Mekkah is below canada. Logically we have to face south to face the Kaabah. Facing east is not a problem so if you live in canada or north america and want to pray right you have to pray SOUTH EAST.
... that is not how it works
@@hamoodhabibiOTMItell us how it works
Why the shortest distance? You must face to Kabe! That is southeast!
Doesn't make sense to me
meh
more like kids pill lol
This makes zero sense. It actually makes more sense on a flat earth map - look at the map United Nations use 🇺🇳 FLAT.
The earth is flat
