Luke Brannick No, because unlike Deviants, Shagaru Magala is a natural evolution while Deviants are rare individuals who survived and evolved. The survival thing for Shagaru Magala was just for the story.
ImpendingGhost Huh, I never looked into the lore. I just thought it was like every other deviant with a brutal past because it lost its horn and grew a new mutated horn and tail.
i liked fighting abyssal legaicrus alot better than narga it just was to easy to beat narga in any form he has. the worst one being the one that goes invis and forces you to watch for his eyes. but i count legaicrus as the more fun to fight monster.
It changes shell through the fight, and the moveset depends on the shell chosen. Glavenus shell is close AOE attacks and leaps, and the other shell is mostly ranged water attacks that go in different directions, and less aggressive melee. Really cool fight, keeps you on your toes.
Little details like this make me love the franchise that much more. Just like Nakarkos using the different skulls to perform different attacks. It’s just brilliant and great attention to detail.
I think the Azure Rathalos in World does something similar. He’ll wait till your close roar, then while you’re roar-stunned, he shoots you with a really strong fireball. It taught me monsters have combo’s and you need to learn them
The Deviants should be a standard thing in all MH games. It just makes sense that monsters would learn from past experiences with hunters and change accordingly.
Aren't Pink/Azure Raths adaptation based? Given I think it was ecosystem based, not them learning from us and adapting. (edit: I've played MH for quite some time, I know they've been around the block.) Imagining a Odog-deviant with no static attack patterns is scary as hell, and amazing sounding all at the same time.
Glavenus helped me master the in's and out's of Adept Style. I always feel so badass when deviant Glavvy does his double tail spin and I end up being the only party member unscathed.
Hellblade helped me to master Aerial Style and everytime I managed to jump off it's double tailspin, it satisfies me more than anything especially when I'm the only one who face against the attack while the others are running away.
2018: "While Monster Hunter World tries to be grounded in a little realism..." As of 2019, we now have Behemoth and Leshen in World. Two monsters from actual fantasy games.
I really love how you edited this video, really awesome! And for those who started with MHW and plan or will be getting MHGU, get ready for a treat, especially with the weapon and armor design. I really hope you will enjoy it as much as those whose player the other games.
Of all the "end game challenges" I actually prefer the deviant system over 4U's guild quest and World's tempered investigations. In 4U and World's case, you are just grinding for random pieces of equipment (relics and decorations) that may or may not be what you want... and I think it just artificially raises playtime and it becomes boring after awhile. In generations and GU's case, deviant farming is not that different from what you've been doing the entire game. And it's a lot more consistent since you KNOW you will get what you want if you hunt the monster you want equipment for. And even if the item is rare, at least it's a fixed chance of getting it, instead of begin a random stat/skill/element/etc.
Yeah, as if just getting a matched relic set in 4U wasn't time-consuming enough, trying to also get matched elemental resists AND matched skills (let alone matched colors!) is virtually impossible. Plus, even then a relic set only activates about 1 skill per set (2 if you're super lucky), where standard armors typically have 3-4 skills....
Filthy Casual Be very careful, I fought this this in the Japanese version and it is probably the most difficult Deviant alongside Bloodbath Diablos. It’s unpredictability makes it very hard.
darkop3191 While this is becoming more like Frontier, Frontier is on another level entirely with how over the top everything is. Nearly every big attack in Frontier is some kind of AOE attack.
Frontier devs team works like this: A:Hunters are too strong? B:Add a stronger opponent. A:Monsters are too strong? B:Add weapons and new powers to hunters. A:Now hunters are too OP. B:Take a monster, give it spikes and larger AOE attacks. A:Shouldn't we nerf something rather that increase the power of everything else? B:Nope. Anyway it's still a pretty nice game once you learn how to play.
Thanks for making these. As someone who likely won’t be getting a Switch just to play this, I have to live vicariously through videos like this. Keep it up man!
Somehow Redhelm Arzuros manages to be the most dangerous deviant in this game in my opinion. even worse than bloodbath. that attack where he swipes like 6 times while changing direction to pursuit you and being extremely fast, is something no monster should have. he's too big for that shit to be fair.
Not even adept evade can fully save you sometimes -small rant about adept evade- dont you think you should be able to cancel that run you do after adept evade? you either attack, which sometimes is not recommended if the monster is doing something crazy, or you keep running, but you're fully vunerable during the run, and when it stops you stand there for a little bit just completely open. I dunno, has it ever been inconvenient to you?
Sean KingKomodo ikr. Its honestly odd how difficult he is for how early he shows up. gives you a much more intimidating introduction to deviants. i thought "if arzuros is this broken i dont even wanna see the rest, jesus". but all others turned out to be way more manageable.
Katze Yeah, I guess Arzuros was just a bad example. Or just a freak of nature, like how does such an easy monster become such a hard one? Guess that’s the brutal beauty of Monster Hunter.
I'm very hyped for mhgu! I'm a mh fan since mhf (PSP) I have some friends, who joined at world and have a switch. I almost wondering all the time how their faces will look like if we'll fight so many monsters with the extrem fun making styles like brave one of my favourite by look. I really love, that you support mhgu so hard, even after your "honest oppinion" I would like if you show us some really good mixed sets in mhxx/mhgu I'm looking forward for new mhgu videos •.•
I still remember the time, when flying home attack is broken as hell and i would probably get hit every single time *Remembering previous hunt from the Rath duo*
I have completed almost every quest hub and village have almost every armor piece and and weapon missing like 50 combined have all the popular mix sets and hard charms to get I'm pretty much set...xx is gonna be a breeze if I transfer so I just might start a new profile best then transfer then play it again and do speed runs etc...
+Joe_ master66 eh not much of a fan of making "popular" mix sets since me no like meta and u can pretty easily make most of them obsolete with even better mix sets.....grant it tht means its harder to get the specific charms for them compared to the "populars". Ive made the best mix sets for all 14 weps (with 83% completion in guild card awards, so currently trying to 100% b4 the added awards due to GU)......grant it a decent few will become obsolete once GU releases. (bc they use blunt skill lol)
Personally, I find World's realistic approach more grounded and entertaining than the zany, over-the-top and sometimes ridiculous fantasy-like nature of Generations. While I think World is the future, they're both really fun but also very different games that are only similar in series name. To each their own.
Ice Bear It's not the weapon gimmicks that are the problem, it's the difficulty curve and the fact that defense doesn't matter because the 30 skills you have do matter
Long time lurker and this will be my first post on your channel. I just wanted to say I'm loving the MHGU videos! My first MH was MHF2 so I love this style of game more than World just a tad bit. Keep up the great work, you help me stay super excited about MHGU!!
Imo, the only thing GenU really has over World, or even 4U for that matter, is volume of content, and that’s only because World was built from the ground up for a more advanced platform, whereas GenU owes most of it’s content to the fact that it had 10 years worth of mh games with similar levels of performance to take assets from.
I’m having an absolute blast in world, but looking at these monsters I entirely agree with you. However, I’m pretty set on saving money for a switch just so I can buy this game and mhxx because I enjoy world, and seeing these monsters, but also because I’m watching some gameplay and most of the monsters are the most badass I’ve seen, and have cool design choices. I do have reason to believe that mhw is starting off from a low level of standards for new franchise buyers, but then BOOM out of no where gonna drop some deviant flagships all in the same game, and I’d be hella up to that
Inevitable Truth Gen U and double cross are basically the same, don't get both. They are only slightly different because one tenders to Japanese audience and the other to western.
TERRA Gaming I don't like how the true dreadking didn't give you level two adrenaline (greatly increase attack and defense when health is below 40 percent of max health). That the only thing I hate about it the skills are Windproof hi, Attack Up Large, Adrenaline level 1 (should be level 2), HR Earplugs, and Weakness Exploit when you max it out
Ice Bear I somewhat agree with you because as an GS user the only set that's I find pretty good are Hazelwing( the defense is too low), Grimclaw (wish they replaced sp extender with something else like An compound skill of perception and autotracker or the skill that allows you to eat raw meat), and Dreadking (wish adrenaline was level 2 or an better skill). They royal screw up on Bloodbath Diablos armor he weak against everything except fire when he should only be weak to ice and water and decent against Dragon
Ice Bear I know what the skills are like and to be honest I’m most excited for the Valstrax set. The biggest reason I’d like to finish the dreadking set is simply because I have it at lvl 10 right now and I like to finish stuff through. It’s not a terrible set especially for jumping into Ultimate. High grade earplugs and high wind res are two of my favorite abilities. Thank you though! 😊
Ice Bear You misunderstand I know it's weak to everything except fire but it doesn't explain why. I went here mhxxx.kiranico.com/mon/60806 and didn't see an reason why he is weak to Dragon and Thunder. When his previous version of the armor weren't not weak against thunder and Dragon. The reason why I'm bring this up is because all deviant should have the same weakness as their normal counterparts. My evidence are the Grimclaw and Dreadking armor they have the same weakness as the normal armor for normal counterparts. Meaning Bloodbath Diablos should only be weak to ice and water and thats it. That is why I said they royal fuck up that armor and I know about transmogging the armor which is the only saving grace from that bad armor set
Nicholas marquez well this might help a little. Rathian/Rathalos are both weak to dragon/thunder, but gold/silver aren’t even weak to dragon at all. “Same” monsters, different weaknesses because they’ve adapted differently than their counterparts. Or whatever. Idk if that makes sense.
Seltas Queen should've had a Deviant where she just runs around the area nonstop like an out of control runaway truck... That would be the most annoying monster of all.
Marmarie Ramos after easily fight that thing with stronger weapon it took 20 minutes, while the 2nd quest took 30 minutes again to get those sweet upgrade
Seeing these recapped like this made me look forward to MHGU! I didn’t get into hunting the deviants much in Gen but plan to make a run of it. I’ll also be reunited with pierce elemental shots for bowgun, which I miss terribly in World but still have a blast with the game!
Nice clean vid dude!!! It looks like prowler camera crew footage.....Already looking forward to the deviant costume vid!!! I would also suggest that you make a prowler armor showcase, since cat info is so hard to find..... Also is there a reward for finishing all quests in generations?????
snailgirl6 if you finish almost all village quests you unlock the 'out of the frying pan' quest that rewards you with the hayabusa feather which grants Critical Eye +2 (expert 15). Much needed for the deviant missions and the new G-rank.
You're on a roll, Gaijin. And somehow this video feels like some kind of review of a fantasy FPS game, lol! That Ceanataur with the Glavenus skull is pretty cool and lol so hard at the centaur typo. Defintely getting a Switch for this game. MHW is cool and all, but I like the fantasy design of the older gen games more than the realistic design of MHW.
Man! Love the video! I've challenged the first Redhelm Arzuros with G-Rank equipment thinking it was easy but he almost killed me easely with that uppercut thing that opens the ground he uses to fish. Lol And took me long time because he is INCREDIBLE FAST! I MEAN IT HE IS TOTALLY FAST! IT IS *I-N-S-A-N-E* HOW FAST IS THAT THING! Even while you're running he can get you if you not Superman dive. xD If I can say that much with the very first Deviant you don't want me to tell aboult others. Lol Deviants are PRETTY FUN! 😁 Resembles of MHFrontier there. *Nice video GaijinHunter-san.* And sorry i have been very salthy recently. 😥 I don't mean it. I'm having problems in my life, and i don't tolerated people shits. xD I'll try to behave. Or i try to just ignore the shit people say. If i reply that shit of others and they just delete it it will look like it was me who shited. 😛
Victor Villamor I think the reason Mizutsune didn’t get a Deviant in Generations was because Glavenus was the main flagship of the Fated Four (even though they were all flagships). They wanted to make Glavenus special and make it stand out from the other members of the Fated Four. That’s probably the reason why only Glavenus got a Deviant in Generations.
Victor Villamor Yeah, they probably were some of the best weapons in the game. One of my favorite weapons to use in Generations was the Hellblade Switch Axe.
Yes.. finally.. I'm waiting for the Armor Skill or Deviant skill for specific weapon.. I mean not really specific, but the people tend to use it with some weapon.. the metagame i think.. Thankyou @gaijinhunter.. keep up the good work..
It's funny that you said you prefer MHW but since the announcement MHGU you've uploaded a lot more often (about MHGU that is). :P even I think I'm getting a lot more excited about this game now.
So excited for everyone to play XX/MHGU. Crystalbeard Uragaan is my fav b/c I love Gundam and the armor makes you look like a Gundam esp if you color it right ^_^ sadly though I never got any of the armor pieces over level 8 b/c I absolutely could not find any Japanese players that was willing to help everyone would leave the lobby instantly upon seeing Crystalbeard high level :(
started playing X again and fall in love again. imo the "realism" of world holds it back to much, there are many cool monsters which could be added easily, but it wont happen for the sake of reality
Same. Back when I 1st got Gen after putting around 2k+ hours into 4U, I felt bored and burned out from it. Now after playing almost 400 hours of MHW (and 100% completion), when I jumped back to Gen to get ready for GU, I forgot how charming the previous entries were. Something about World just didnt feel right and I realized it lost most of its charm and meaningful endgame. I decently like realism but for MH I want a more balance between real and fantasy. Yes everyone has diff. tastes but still.
Grim Hazzard ikr but I kinda prefer world, it feels like more me, + world is getting better, the only thing I hate is that mhw made a crossover, I hate that they kind of messed up the story line.
You need to give World time. It's very difficult to design monsters and interactions with other monsters and the world in the new game. I hope they release G-Rank.
wrong they arent added cause it's a whole new engine do you realize how much work it is to actually translate a monster to fit with worlds graphic standard? not cheap either and it isn't about realism buddy
redhelm to dreadqueen start in low rank. Dreadqueens poison amps up once it gets to high rank difficulty(new poison only kicks on on higher difficulties when its considered high rank). Drilltusk to hellblade start in high rank Soulseer to rustrazor are g-rank exclusive bloodbath requires you to beat the other g-rank exclusives at g1 to unlock and be hr 60. It is postgame. The ex's require hr 100 and are effectively the toughest stuff in the game.
It is informative. I just hope they add more into world, I kinda feel like they hit a double-edged knife with the new environment system. On one hand its most definitely appealing and a damn good way to bring people in, on the other this is the fewest monsters we've ever had. On top of that it adds the time between new monsters since they cant just toss it in like normally, they have to make new ai's, put that into the system, add more ai from the other ai, turf wars such and such. So I'll be playing this as a filler for world. Great video as always.
I'm so freaking hyped about this game. This was the game I really wanted back when I played Gen on 3DS. Now it finally comes... I have not gotten a switch, since I've been broke the last 4 years. Kids and family overall demands money. I saw a add on a local trading site in my country. A dude who sold a Switch for a reasonable price that I could afford. I have recently sold on of my guitars and I have finally saved some money. I text him and we talked about the payment method and I gave him all the info. As soon as I gave him money the texts and calls went silent. I can't call him back or text him. He blocked me... And he used a phone card that can't be traced to him. The police is informed, but they will probably don't do anything since they are not able to respond to burglarys and assault nowadays... I'm really disappointed and I'll probably miss this game out since I'll not be able to save money or sell any more of my stuff. Happy hunting fellas. I'll see you if better times comes in my life.
Derek Walter It's the standard with deals we have on our two auction and trading sites. Pay up front and pay for the shipping. But yeah... Still unfortunate.
MHW is my first mh game. I thought there were a ton of monsters already but I can't believe how many more there were/are in past games. I hope they keep bringing them!
What do mean less realistic? You mean to say the jet infused dragon couldn't exist in the real world? Lol, really looking foreward to fighting these deviants they look really tough and enjoyable for the most part
Hunter: My name is Connor, i‘m the android sent by Cyberlife....My mission is to neutralize all deviants...and i always accomplish my mission.. Deviant Monster: nani?!
A little question, the level of the deviant equip in gen was at HR standard right? I mean, an hellblade armor isn't, in gen, strong as a G armor. Did they change this in genU so the deviant equip reach the G stat?
Pretty sure deviants wouldn't be exactly over the top in a monster hunter game that follows a realistic approach, look up Gustave the man eating crocodile, individualised animals wreaking havoc aren't exactly a supernatural phenomenon.
Well, they did mention at the end of the mhw story-arc-thing that the researchers are low-key scared AF if Xeno'jiva is the baby form of some of the shit that grows inside all that super dense energy/crystal area. I think lore wise the "acid" in the Valley is actually a hyper-concentrated form of the energy, and that's why it eats away at us.
+Jared Wolf I always figured it was something like swamp gas, or geysers that produce the fumes that are generated from a combination of the deceased creatures and the bacteria within. +DaBa I'm talking about the concept behind deviants: AKA individualised monsters that have gained specific traits environmentally, thus causing them to act not normal in comparison to their normal counterparts, MH of course cranks it up to 11, lmao
czcams.com/video/bMdBEaAAsb8/video.html This video gives a good background of lore regarding Rotten Vale, I may be mistaken about the "acid", I can't rewatch the video atm, but it was pretty interesting if you like lore
Great video as usual Gaijin, just to warn you though that there were quite a few mistakes here and there with voice track editing, spelling, and some information being incorrect, which is a bit of a shame. I assume this video was a bit more rushed than usual, which is fine but I know you can do a bit better
When MHGU comes to the west this summer im looking buying it right away Can you make a "Starters/Tips video" for new players for MHGU on the switch. I only say this because when i tried MH Gen and MH4 on the 3DS i got turned off right away because i felt really lost on what to do.
You should try getting back into MH Gen to get used to and ready for MHGU. You can also ask for help in the MH subrredit, and Gaijin and Arekkz gaming both have lots of videos on Gen and 4u
You kinda just do quest in MH Gen, there is no story just empty your quest list and progress through the game. If you don't understand a feature just ask google. It's a fine game, I have 600 hrs in MH Gen even though I can't play online
yoeycrack1 in MHW soloing the Game is considered to be easier than playing multi-player since monster HP does not increases when you go solo, when you go with multiple people the HP of monsters gets increased to be a challenge for 4 players. That's why you can solo the elders so easily in 3-9 minutes. Other games, like MHGU wil have, increases the HP pool in online Lobby's to be matched for 4 players regardless of the fact that you are questing alone or with 3 other hunters. So it's harder to go solo in other MH games but it's doable
Ole Wüstefeld well yeah if you go on a hunt with 3 other people that's 4 players[hopefully] know there doing that's a lot of extra damage being put out so if just the mons HP bar gets bigger that's just evening out the cards now scaling the difficulty imo
Dreadking & Dreadqueen^^ a Rathalos that "immune" to flash & a Rathian that have Fatal Poison that cannot be cured with antidote & 3x speed of normal poison tick. Naisu...
It's a shame that CB Uragaan's armor has skills focused on charm mining, since I really like hunting it. It's also a good source of zenny if you mine ore off of it. The fight is fun, too. Unlike world's Uragaan, if you're near the super chin slam attack, it won't just tremor you, it'll hit you with full force from the shockwave of the impact, and inflicts tremors as far as some monsters can roar!
Mushroom310 I personally hate Uragan and CB idk in my mind it's kinda a copy from gravios just because of the sleep gas... call me stupid but that is really the reason
Joe_ master66 it definitely feels like gravios but I think that's fine, plenty of the monsters are variations of older ones, so long as they don't do it too often. Though I think I'd have preferred the garvios itself.
Nicolas Difurio I can't let this disrespect to Uragaan stand. Gravios is all fire beam attacks and gas attacks, as well as a flying wyvern. Uragaan is almost entirely a frontal physical attacker, with the occasional gas attacks and rock attacks that deal fire damage. Not to mention it's a fairer fight. Gravios will jump and slam with little warning. If you get hit by Uragaan's strong chin slam, you probably weren't paying attention.
the hermitaur set is my favorite, too. a lot of people like other armors more, since it's not the most offensive one, but definitely a great pick to keep yourself safe and your weapon sharp.
Yeah. Deviant Blangonga sounds like a snow rajang, and might play like one too, which would be really neat. He's by far the toughest of the 4-star monsters, and by far the coolest too, so I'd give him some sort of variant too.
I like all the deviants. I just hope that we'll someday go up against Origin monsters someday. Anyway, I can't wait for you to show the armor and weapons of the deviants!
Well I can agree that subspecies are Team A and Deviants are Team B in terms on Subspecies comes first before the Deviants. But compared to deviants, subspecies doesn't put up a challenge when hunting them. I'm stating this cuz I've played every MH since Freedom (PSP) and hunted almost all available subspecies on each series.
We don't hace them in world because it's a concept that doesn't even make sense. The Hight Rank and G Rank monsters were already Older monsters with more fights in them because of hunters and/or territorial combat. Deviants took that and amped it to oblivion.
@@xdredbruny2 Dude, silverwind nargacuga, Redhelm arzuros, and many others are those monster must after they've reached a certain stage in their life and have matured, if you're a fan of the how to train a dragon, deviants are just the titanwings of monsterhunter
It looks like the monster hunter World players are missing out on a lot of things because this looks way more appealing I'm not talkin fantasy wise I mean in terms of monsters way more appealing
What do you mean by fantasy wise it's not appealing? Are you one of those fans that prefers world more realistic approach to weapons? I've been a vet since 4U and I will always prefer unrealism in monster Hunter
They'll get there. the "Kut-ku" chicken birds are all generally the same model, as are the Nargacuga/Tigrex line, so I can see them populating the game very easily if they dropped a family on us at a time.
I think the fact that it's multi-platform must screw with things as well (at least in terms of coding it in? Maybe not? I'm definitely not the kind of person who would know this.)
For anyone who doesn't know, the lore behind deviants is that the they're monsters who survived previous hunter encounters
Boshwa wouldn't that technical y make shagaru magala a deviant?
Luke Brannick Not really, it just happened to get it's ass kicked right before it molted
Luke Brannick No, because unlike Deviants, Shagaru Magala is a natural evolution while Deviants are rare individuals who survived and evolved. The survival thing for Shagaru Magala was just for the story.
This doesn't apply to all deviants I believe though. For Examole Bloodbath Diablos has its own lore.
ImpendingGhost Huh, I never looked into the lore. I just thought it was like every other deviant with a brutal past because it lost its horn and grew a new mutated horn and tail.
They are not "crab hands" they're called *BIG. MEATY. CLAWS.*
Those claws ain't just for attractin' mates!

Gaijin was so psyched for Narga Silverwind, 2:49 two of him talked at the same time. Lol
legaicrus is alot cooler
dragon blade don't get me wrong Lagi is GORGEOUS But as an Adept Style Player I just LOVE Fighting Narga
i liked fighting abyssal legaicrus alot better than narga it just was to easy to beat narga in any form he has. the worst one being the one that goes invis and forces you to watch for his eyes. but i count legaicrus as the more fun to fight monster.
Finally someone that actually enjoys Hunting monsters under water, All my friends hated the water Hunting days. And Yes Abyssal is SUPER FUN!
@@subahal-kuwari4390 I never played 3U but water hunts is the only reason I wanna play it. I'll play it after GU, I guess.
Wait what a shogun that wears a glav skull and uses those jaws to sharpen its claws like glav does w his tail?!?!?!? Holy hell thats brilliant
It changes shell through the fight, and the moveset depends on the shell chosen. Glavenus shell is close AOE attacks and leaps, and the other shell is mostly ranged water attacks that go in different directions, and less aggressive melee. Really cool fight, keeps you on your toes.
David Miller that's what MonHun is like! The MonHun i love!
Genuine genial ideas! :3
Range attacks with Gravios's shell and Melee attacks with Glavenus's shell
On top of that, breaking his Glavenus shell prevents him from sharpening his claws, essentially locking away his "enraged" state.
Little details like this make me love the franchise that much more. Just like Nakarkos using the different skulls to perform different attacks. It’s just brilliant and great attention to detail.

You're probably just joking about being sad, but just in case:
It doesn't matter if no one else likes it. You like it! That's what counts. =)
@@feathero3 you are a good man thank (and indeed I was just joking but thx)
I can feel gaijin's excitement through each video. I don't think you've ever uploaded this often before.

You're beautiful!

And get your moxie.
I never did like them.
Felyne Explorer will be useful again xD!
The Bloodbath Diablos will immediately charge at you when you're roar-stunned.
I love that attack.
The Hg earplugs tutorial monster
Or the i-frames tutorial I guess. Or is its roar too long to roll through?
Nine Flames It's roar effect will be too long for you to even prepare for the following attack.
I think the Azure Rathalos in World does something similar. He’ll wait till your close roar, then while you’re roar-stunned, he shoots you with a really strong fireball. It taught me monsters have combo’s and you need to learn them
Victor Trevizo
I think the raths have done that for ages actually...
The Deviants should be a standard thing in all MH games. It just makes sense that monsters would learn from past experiences with hunters and change accordingly.
Chris's C That’s actually a good idea and would love to see that in future games, provided they revamp the ticket system.
Just...treat them like a normal variants I think (?)
I mean, no need for ticketing system.
Aren't Pink/Azure Raths adaptation based? Given I think it was ecosystem based, not them learning from us and adapting. (edit: I've played MH for quite some time, I know they've been around the block.)
Imagining a Odog-deviant with no static attack patterns is scary as hell, and amazing sounding all at the same time.
Jared Wolf now imagine if that one nergigante we fought and fought didnt actually quite die, and we got a deviant elder dragon
Jared Wolf
Pink and Azure were genetic mutations.
And finally, the most terrifying deviant of all...
Long-Arm Deviljho.
*OOOOOOOFF*
A thicc deviljho
Cursed deviants
“Long arm deviljho isn’t real he can’t hurt you”
Long arm deviljho: grabs me
*DEVILJHO WITH RAJANG ARMS*
Hellblade and vanilla Glavenus are not only incredibly cool designs, they are one of the most enjoyable fights in the series!
I find it so enjoyable that I don't even realize I've hunted it like 150+ times :'D
Hyper Glavenus with adept lance is my favorite fight
Glavenus helped me master the in's and out's of Adept Style. I always feel so badass when deviant Glavvy does his double tail spin and I end up being the only party member unscathed.
DanTheManCalter adept lance is a blast, I also mastered it at the glavenus and it helped me to play the end game of MHGen since I couldn't play online
Hellblade helped me to master Aerial Style and everytime I managed to jump off it's double tailspin, it satisfies me more than anything especially when I'm the only one who face against the attack while the others are running away.
Really love the editing to get the full frame of the monster , could see people making short films using this haha, awesome coverage as always man!
2018: "While Monster Hunter World tries to be grounded in a little realism..."
As of 2019, we now have Behemoth and Leshen in World. Two monsters from actual fantasy games.
and as of 2020, the explosive boxer and super sayan ape came back and the multi-elemental elder dragon (alatreon) will arrive shortly
Samuel Decay as of September, Alatreon IS here and a monster that split a continent with its tail, fatalis is coming
Not to mention all joke weapon coming back
I really love how you edited this video, really awesome! And for those who started with MHW and plan or will be getting MHGU, get ready for a treat, especially with the weapon and armor design. I really hope you will enjoy it as much as those whose player the other games.
B l o o d b a t h diablos? Jesus christ we're all gonna die
Bring back the ecology video capcom pls, X and XX monster intro are damn awefull
Relic armor and weapons arn't required unless you want a mixed set like really mixed
@Truth decorations aren't rng you craft them in gu charms are the only rng thing in the game.
Deviants, more like ALL ABOARD THE CART TRAIN!
Still hyped for Jedi Master Astalos though XD
Filthy Casual Be very careful, I fought this this in the Japanese version and it is probably the most difficult Deviant alongside Bloodbath Diablos. It’s unpredictability makes it very hard.
you mean EXCALIBEUUUUUUUUR astalos ?
Finally, I was waiting for a Fate reference
Filthy Casual it reminds me of MHFU
They're approaching Frontier levels of overkill. It's kinda amusing.
So hyped to get back into it! Keep up the informative videos, it's great to have!
darkop3191 Frontier got some wild shit
Frontier: Where everything is an AOE!
darkop3191 While this is becoming more like Frontier, Frontier is on another level entirely with how over the top everything is. Nearly every big attack in Frontier is some kind of AOE attack.
No, not even close lol, but I see where are you coming from.
Frontier devs team works like this:
A:Hunters are too strong?
B:Add a stronger opponent.
A:Monsters are too strong?
B:Add weapons and new powers to hunters.
A:Now hunters are too OP.
B:Take a monster, give it spikes and larger AOE attacks.
A:Shouldn't we nerf something rather that increase the power of everything else?
B:Nope.
Anyway it's still a pretty nice game once you learn how to play.
Thanks for making these. As someone who likely won’t be getting a Switch just to play this, I have to live vicariously through videos like this. Keep it up man!
0:49 dab
*triggered*
gleun loooool
BOI!
Dab of a Cancerous Bear
Cannot unsee that ;-;
I would like to thank you for uploading such amazing content
Pink Rathian: My poison makes hunting me a nightmare!
Dreadqueen Rathian: Hold my beer.
Somehow Redhelm Arzuros manages to be the most dangerous deviant in this game in my opinion. even worse than bloodbath. that attack where he swipes like 6 times while changing direction to pursuit you and being extremely fast, is something no monster should have. he's too big for that shit to be fair.
Yeah I find him hard to even gun he moves so fast
Not even adept evade can fully save you sometimes -small rant about adept evade- dont you think you should be able to cancel that run you do after adept evade? you either attack, which sometimes is not recommended if the monster is doing something crazy, or you keep running, but you're fully vunerable during the run, and when it stops you stand there for a little bit just completely open. I dunno, has it ever been inconvenient to you?
Katze Just hunted him to confirm his difficulty...yeah, he’s pretty tough. That’s what I get for bullying him in 3U lol.
I'm a mh fan since mhf (PSP)
I have some friends, who joined at world and have a switch. I almost wondering all the time how their faces will look like if we'll fight so many monsters with the extrem fun making styles like brave one of my favourite by look.
I really love, that you support mhgu so hard, even after your "honest oppinion"
I would like if you show us some really good mixed sets in mhxx/mhgu
I'm looking forward for new mhgu videos •.•
I still remember the time, when flying home attack is broken as hell and i would probably get hit every single time *Remembering previous hunt from the Rath duo*
Already have a fully made Silverwind and Dreadking set.
Once MHGenU comes I'll have a nice headstart!
Sweet Brew already have finished every Quest and almost every popular mixed sets .... nice head starts we have there ^^
Those were so hard to get and they are so op they were worth it.
The Baja Blastalos is the toughest one imo
Im slowly going through GU atm and I cant wait to see more of it. Such a good game.
The "realism" in World is what makes it kinda boring. I'm mostly talking about the weapon design.
The realism is what makes me love MHW, personally.
Personally, I find World's realistic approach more grounded and entertaining than the zany, over-the-top and sometimes ridiculous fantasy-like nature of Generations. While I think World is the future, they're both really fun but also very different games that are only similar in series name. To each their own.
If you're talking about the environment, the gameplay and all numbers it got right, yes I agree.
The early stage weapons do indeed look boring, but i'm glad that the final version usually looks awesome. (appart from Xeno'jiiva)
for some weapons, majority are lacking.
They should add UNKNOWN Rathian! I want to try fighting it but it is only on frontier ;/
#KuroRheaforthewest
Ice Bear It's not the weapon gimmicks that are the problem, it's the difficulty curve and the fact that defense doesn't matter because the 30 skills you have do matter
Unknown actually isn't a Rathian. It just looks like one.
Well... If MHGU have *EVASION 5* .... I could consider it
yo I'm game GIMMIE UNKNOWN
Awesome as always gaijin 🙂. I would love to see more of bloodbath diablos, the rusty ceanetaur and gammoth.
Long time lurker and this will be my first post on your channel. I just wanted to say I'm loving the MHGU videos! My first MH was MHF2 so I love this style of game more than World just a tad bit. Keep up the great work, you help me stay super excited about MHGU!!
Realism? What?
Also was super bummed when the Glavenus' great sword wasn't just his tail. I feel like his tail would look so good as a great sword.
0:00 Girl
0:02 Sudden Man
soulseer is my fav because cmon mizutsune is already awesome
It's SO PRETTY!!! I could see it in MHW with the model being partially made w/ Tobi.
mister guanzorumu heck yeah!
Soulseer's only flaw is using the standard Deviant battle theme instead of the Mizutsune battle theme.
Sometimes I get old videos of gaijin in my recommendations. This is so nostalgic to watch
These monsters make world look empty
gage bowen it kinda is Really:/ even tho i liked generations not that much it was still better than World(Monsters, monster design ans weapons)
I do have reason to believe that mhw is starting off from a low level of standards for new franchise buyers, but then BOOM out of no where gonna drop some deviant flagships all in the same game, and I’d be hella up to that
Inevitable Truth
Gen U and double cross are basically the same, don't get both. They are only slightly different because one tenders to Japanese audience and the other to western.
Tyler MacGregor r
3:01 your wish has been granted gaijin!!
Those crab monsters are so cool holy crap!
axle low
*holy crab
ikr plus they have early easy to get high def armor which is nice.
Holy crab,he have Monoblos Skull as his shell!
They should have them come back in mhw
Go see Shen Gaoren. Thank me later.
Well no wonder the rustrazor centaur copies glavenus, it has a glavenus head on its back
Was that a Glavenus skull the cenataur was using?
Yes!
Fucking cool as fuck
The Shogun Crab killed a Glavenus and took it's skull just so it could fuck you up with it.
In reality, Glavenus is way too strong for Shogun alone. It probably just killed one that was weakened or found a freshly dead skull.
Vengeant Fate it can also switch to a Gravios school and proceed to constantly pee on you.
Excited to get my Dreadking set from maxed out 10 to 15!!!
I'm so ready to cart !
Seltas Queen should've had a Deviant where she just runs around the area nonstop like an out of control runaway truck... That would be the most annoying monster of all.
Let's go fight our first deviant redhelm arzuros !!!
Took 30 minute when solo
phillip gianto 30 minutes + all the fainting because I thought it was going to be a stupid monster. Mistakes were made.
Marmarie Ramos after easily fight that thing with stronger weapon it took 20 minutes, while the 2nd quest took 30 minutes again to get those sweet upgrade
phillip gianto same lol
Took me 40 minutes
Redhelm Arzuros is capable of destroying the planet with its nuclear dab.
Lol
And took me long time because he is INCREDIBLE FAST! I MEAN IT HE IS TOTALLY FAST! IT IS *I-N-S-A-N-E* HOW FAST IS THAT THING! Even while you're running he can get you if you not Superman dive. xD
If I can say that much with the very first Deviant you don't want me to tell aboult others. Lol
Deviants are PRETTY FUN! 😁
Resembles of MHFrontier there.
*Nice video GaijinHunter-san.*
And sorry i have been very salthy recently. 😥
I don't mean it. I'm having problems in my life, and i don't tolerated people shits. xD I'll try to behave. Or i try to just ignore the shit people say. If i reply that shit of others and they just delete it it will look like it was me who shited. 😛
Redhelm Arzuros: after surviving a fearsome hunt, it decided to take some Street Fighter lessons and grew 3 times in size.
Disappointed that mizutsune didnt have a deviant in generations, but at least there is one now! (Even if its not gonna be on the 3ds)
Erik The Elder Dragon I can agree with you on that because the hellblade stuff can craft some very top tier weapons in generations
I am SO looking forward to the Deviant -Bubblebath- Mizutsune!
Love your stuff! Keep it up gaijin!
It's funny that you said you prefer MHW but since the announcement MHGU you've uploaded a lot more often (about MHGU that is). :P even I think I'm getting a lot more excited about this game now.
So excited for everyone to play XX/MHGU. Crystalbeard Uragaan is my fav b/c I love Gundam and the armor makes you look like a Gundam esp if you color it right ^_^ sadly though I never got any of the armor pieces over level 8 b/c I absolutely could not find any Japanese players that was willing to help everyone would leave the lobby instantly upon seeing Crystalbeard high level :(
Eto Hige Gamer Culture I respect your opinion man 'cause I think alongside Redhelm, Crystalbeard are the most boring ones :'D
started playing X again and fall in love again. imo the "realism" of world holds it back to much, there are many cool monsters which could be added easily, but it wont happen for the sake of reality
I wholeheartedly agree! I'm currently replaying MH4U and I'm having a blast!
Drilltusk to hellblade start in high rank
Soulseer to rustrazor are g-rank exclusive
bloodbath requires you to beat the other g-rank exclusives at g1 to unlock and be hr 60. It is postgame.
The ex's require hr 100 and are effectively the toughest stuff in the game.
Me: Armor Shredder Ceanataur is a pretty lame deviant.
*Sees it sharpen its claws in Glavenus skull*
0.0 Woah.
One of the best deviants, makes a pushover fight into a fun challenge
Nice to see some love being spared to the crabs
It is informative. I just hope they add more into world, I kinda feel like they hit a double-edged knife with the new environment system. On one hand its most definitely appealing and a damn good way to bring people in, on the other this is the fewest monsters we've ever had. On top of that it adds the time between new monsters since they cant just toss it in like normally, they have to make new ai's, put that into the system, add more ai from the other ai, turf wars such and such. So I'll be playing this as a filler for world. Great video as always.
SoSa SoSTRONK
MH3 had even fewer monsters though.
But MH3 felt more alive than world , more varied battles
The Geat I’m so sorry to hear that don’t worry things always turn around ;)
The Geat you shouldn't have paid without getting the switch. That's a red flag if someone asks you to do that
Derek Walter It's the standard with deals we have on our two auction and trading sites. Pay up front and pay for the shipping. But yeah... Still unfortunate.
MHW is my first mh game. I thought there were a ton of monsters already but I can't believe how many more there were/are in past games. I hope they keep bringing them!
That moment when the 16 deviants are 18
LOL rip me. fixed.
+30 Quests
That moment when there's almost as much deviants as there is large monsters in mhw...
For anyone wondering, the cenataur sharpens it's claws on the glavenus skull on its back
Cant wait to get cleaved in half by hell blade again
Already pre-ordered, can't wait for it!
What do mean less realistic? You mean to say the jet infused dragon couldn't exist in the real world? Lol, really looking foreward to fighting these deviants they look really tough and enjoyable for the most part
First one is freaking akakabuto from silver fang
Hunter: My name is Connor, i‘m the android sent by Cyberlife....My mission is to neutralize all deviants...and i always accomplish my mission..
Deviant Monster: nani?!
I like the detail of the rustblade cenetaur. Having a glavenus skull to sharpen its claws
A little question, the level of the deviant equip in gen was at HR standard right? I mean, an hellblade armor isn't, in gen, strong as a G armor. Did they change this in genU so the deviant equip reach the G stat?
Egg Reran I think u have to make a new Armor in G-Rank, there are new Levels in MHGU
MH DARKSTORM New level for the old deviant?
Egg Reran yeah but they are seperate u have to unlock a different quest for g rank and level that one up again
MH DARKSTORM Ok thanks!
No prob
Back here again to support my boy :D.
They need to add back Narcacuga, Zinogre, Glavenus AND DEFINITELY DEFINITELY TIGREX
White Jester yes they’re all in GU
domdon950
I believe they want them in World, as do I.
Even though I'll most likely abandon world one GU releases since I much prefer the older games.
@@domdon950 I have returned from 3 years to confirm my wishes were true and they all came back in World.
Man I remember when I fucking grinded all the drilltusk quests to get hit armor it was so worth it the armor is one of my favorites in the mh series
I don't think we should compare a man eating crocodile to a dinosaur with a 1000 degree tail that causes explosions.
+Jared Wolf I always figured it was something like swamp gas, or geysers that produce the fumes that are generated from a combination of the deceased creatures and the bacteria within.
+DaBa I'm talking about the concept behind deviants: AKA individualised monsters that have gained specific traits environmentally, thus causing them to act not normal in comparison to their normal counterparts, MH of course cranks it up to 11, lmao
czcams.com/video/bMdBEaAAsb8/video.html
This video gives a good background of lore regarding Rotten Vale, I may be mistaken about the "acid", I can't rewatch the video atm, but it was pretty interesting if you like lore
I love that the Rustrazor Ceanataur not only 'copies Glavenus', it's actually wearing it's FREAKING SKULL as a shell
Great video as usual Gaijin, just to warn you though that there were quite a few mistakes here and there with voice track editing, spelling, and some information being incorrect, which is a bit of a shame. I assume this video was a bit more rushed than usual, which is fine but I know you can do a bit better
LOVE the video gaijin and the deviant that I'm looking forward to most is soulseer mizutsune
Yeah I haven't not yet play MH world online once yet I've beaten and solo every one Golden DevilJo and Kual also
yoeycrack1 in MHW soloing the Game is considered to be easier than playing multi-player since monster HP does not increases when you go solo, when you go with multiple people the HP of monsters gets increased to be a challenge for 4 players.
At least Crystalbeard has really strong weapons to use with the Bludgeoner skill.
I can't remember, but doesn't it also have Great Luck skill?
This game really shows how creative the developers were. They made the elements more alive and powerful.
*the way you pronounced Mizutsune made me want to commit throw device out window*
the hermitaur set is my favorite, too.
a lot of people like other armors more, since it's not the most offensive one, but definitely a great pick to keep yourself safe and your weapon sharp.
I love Lagombi but it's a little bit samey to have both him and Arzuros as deviants. Blangonga should have been the Snow Baron!
Spring's Sprangyard man lagombi is prob one of the hardest deviants, enjoy
Yeah. Deviant Blangonga sounds like a snow rajang, and might play like one too, which would be really neat. He's by far the toughest of the 4-star monsters, and by far the coolest too, so I'd give him some sort of variant too.
Deviants in world!!!! Imagine! All with bone weapon designs!!!
Lol u said 16 deviants
Been wanting a video like this and world really should add the fantasy back also Deviant Diablos hands down love that Armour set
This is real the real Monster Hunter expect the hunter arts..
Mh world isn't the real feeling of mh.
So guys buy this game then u'll have fun
Der Ilyes at least you can play as guild style :p
Markopolo V yeah bit the new monsters/attacks are with guild literally bullshit
Lot easier with especially bushido style all of these
I like all the deviants. I just hope that we'll someday go up against Origin monsters someday.
Anyway, I can't wait for you to show the armor and weapons of the deviants!
They look really good. A shame we don't have them in MHW
Guillermo Rmz Deviants is a Team B kinda thing...
Subspecies is Team A.
domdon950 Meh, sub species are pretty lame in comparison to deviants.
I like that thunder wyvern. The loose web wings looks so cool.
Dang I wish more people played this still today...
imagine they port just 20% of the roster of GenU into mhw...
Scorptice that’d be a pain in the ass
monster Hunter movie has been made official starring mila jovovich....goes into production in September.
When is mhgu coming out in Europe?
late august i think
pablo melon thanks man
August 28th to b exact.
In this version, Can we still wave at the hot air balloon and we receive a location for base camp?
Wow i wish we had all those monster in mhw...
They'll get there. the "Kut-ku" chicken birds are all generally the same model, as are the Nargacuga/Tigrex line, so I can see them populating the game very easily if they dropped a family on us at a time.
david liu they can't just port them over they literally have to remake the monsters
maybe we should wait for the ultimate version
I think the fact that it's multi-platform must screw with things as well (at least in terms of coding it in? Maybe not? I'm definitely not the kind of person who would know this.)
david liu they’re not coming lol
This is definitely a Team B thing not really a Team A (MH has 2 Teams)
ill still call him "devil diablos" because thats what he is, they took that nostalgic old quest and made him a monster
