Our first go at interviews within this sport, but certainly not the last!
Spill the Mead enters the world of Armored Combat. In this video, we talk with some of the fighters from Idaho Armored Combat's Rat Pack about some Buhurt 101 questions sent into us by our listeners!
Stay tuned for even more Buhurt Tournament footage and interviews on our channel! More to come soon!
Please check out Idaho Armored Combat on Facebook and Instagram, and check out your local Buhurt team for some absolute carnage.
This was such a great introduction to the sport! Thank you for the opportunity to share our sport!!!
Thank YOU guys for being so awesome and giving us all the time you do!! We can't wait to talk to you all again!
I had a dream I was in an ancient battle, it was INTENSE how real it felt, the feeling of sheer visceral and close proximity of horror was suffocating.
WHOA...
Ancient warfare is so inconceivable to my modern mind... We've covered some in our podcast episodes, and "suffocating" seems like a GREAT word choice.
Maybe you were peeking into a past life?? Maybe that was your calling to the world of buhurt?!?!?
@@SpillTheMead ancestral memory is definitely something the irish believe in so I honestly think it's possible, dreams being the rare outlier. I'm intruiged by this in terms of martial arts, looks like fun (especially if ur a tall lad)
@@neotower420 You might be surprised! Some of the best fighters in the world are under 5'10! Everyone has advantages and disadvantages, for sure!
ANYWAS, look forward to following your buhurt career!! haha
I fight buhurt out of New Orleans, LA and I'm glad that y'all did a vid on this. 😊
Hey that means so much to us! Thank you! We have another Buhurt video in the works right now!
Thank you!
This is great! I love seeing the sport spreading and more coverage of it. If you ever want to learn more I'd be glad to share whatever and all knowledge that I have.
Oh man, thank you so much! That means a lot coming from you! We are always looking for more information, so please, let's find a way for you to share your knowledge with us! Will you be at Pacific Cup by chance? We will be there doing interviews, and cheering our team on! We also have another Buhurt video being edited right now!
@@SpillTheMead Unfortunately no. I'm not going to be able to make Pacific Cup this year. It's hard to make every big event I want too. If you ever want to connect even over a call or video I'm happy to. Anything to build more connections in the sport and grow the audience.
@@woodchuckknight7820 Absolutely! We will be in touch! We have a couple buhurt related ideas.
The Fabulous Ladies Of Spill The Mead are doing it! The world of Buhurt and Armored Combat is filled with a unique, diverse world of individuals - kitting up and kicking ass!!! Love It!! BUHURT IS LOVE. Well Done Ladies.
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!! So much, we hope to cover a lot more of it in the future!
Hey! I know you! Good little interview.
Literal dream to be interviewed by these people.
You're on the list for next month! The honor is all ours!
@@SpillTheMead not me passing out from reading this. OMG
My Dream Armor is Noahs mustache.
You and every lady this side of the Rocky Mountain, homie. ;)
Doing Armored Combat here in Japan ... Awesome video! Come do one over here.
That's AMAZING! We would love to, perhaps one day!
Thank goodness they get bathroom breaks 😂
Alas, even the mightiest of knight has to tinkle sometimes.
@@SpillTheMead I have questions about getting erections while wearing chain link armor
Question 1) where can you purchase chain link armor?
Who would win in a fight between Superman and the Hulk?
Medieval Times, but make it Fight Club
^^this guy gets it. Except please do talk about it...
What are you nerds talking about now!?
The same thing YOU are going to be talking to us about the next time we see you at an event??? Right????????? :D !!!
Well short but nice.
Thank you! It was our first go of it, but we have more coming in the future, hopefully we will get better and better at it!
Thanks for giving it a chance!!!
How do they win? What's the sport itself like? Rules etc?
Oh wow, what a GREAT question. It depends on the league/event, but in melees it is (more or less) whoever is left standing (again, this changes with the event/tournament) We're still figuring it out too! But we will absolutely add questions about the rules to our list!
Thank you for watching, and giving us another interview topic!
My goodness, looks brutal ⚔️
It's SO BRUTAL! Seriously so much fun to watch. These guys are truly athletes.
Buhurt is only a discipline, the sport is called armored combat
There is also duell and pro fight
I've done SCA armored Chivalric combat for over 20 years, and I would say it is fairly close to Buhurt in terms of brutality, at least in the big SCA melees, but Buhurt beats it, because we don't allow punching, kicking, or grappling of any kind, and we're using 1.25in rattan weapons as opposed to Buhurt's blunted steel. I have one friend who would compare SCA to professional football, and Buhurt to professional hockey (because of the fights that often break out in hockey 😅).
Ok wait... That is a GREAT comparison! We might use that one actually! Also thank you for shedding some light on the difference between SCA and Buhurt!! Maybe we will do a video covering the differences one day!! Thank you for giving our video a chance, and for your kind words! We're going to have more in the future!
