- John Carpenter is no stranger to horror fans.
If you like horror, you must have seen "The Thing" (1982), and it will be most certainly in your TOP 10 Horror movies ever made list.
But did you ever hear about his Christine (1983) - John Carpenter's forgotten Masterpiece - from just one year later? Never mind seen it?
Didn't think so.
Well, behold on this masterpiece!
As a seasoned Horror expert and enthusiast, I have to say that I couldn't classify this movie as a horror myself, because for me personally there was no real suspense at all at any point.
(There is no gore either - but that is not a must in a good horror.)
That being said, as a movie, it is truly a masterpiece nevertheless and a reminder to how great movies used to be back in the day. No CGI in sight and plenty of mind-blowing practical effects!
Which movie of current year can hold a candle to it in "realness" and overall visual quality?
Didn't think so.
Movies these days look like videogames - including the actors who often have obvious CGI "enhancements".
It wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for every action or horror movie these days looking like a child's cartoon.
How am I supposed to be thrilled or feel suspense looking at cartoon?
Anyway, enough of my rant, I can highly recommend this movie to anyone.
Little bit on a side note, William Ostrander who played "buddy" - the buff bad guy - was 24y old in the movie. Back in the day 20y olds already looked like men - Digging those side burns too ;D -
and girls looked very natural and feminine - unlike the caricature plastic dolls of today's.
Yep. I'm "old" fart missing the old days of normality. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Christine: You scratched me, and now I scratch your's.
ayooooooo
Christine excuse me!? scratch my what!?!????!!!
When I first saw this movie I was about seven or eight watching it on TV. When Christine goes and kills all the hoodlums who smashed her up I cheered wildly and ran around the room
I can relate so much to Arnie in this movie. He was a bit of a dork and he find this car, gets attached to it. Changes how he looks and behaves and then the car goes after his bullies.
Please elaborate further. You’ve got some curious.
@@cloudyloudly2404ON GRANNY BRO
He didn't change the car, he just gave it a transfusion of motor oil. The car did the rest. Signed-Richard.
"Okay...show me." Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
That’d be cool to have a self fixing car, wouldn’t have to pay for the damage
I mean, money are quite important thing, but screw it when it comes to classics...
Bigger issue would be to find replacement parts. Impossible to fix from such a state into Original version no matter how rich you might be.
It's like burning Mona Lisa painting and arguing that it would be cool if it could "fix" itself from any damage to it - so that no need to pay ungodly money to fix it.
Bigger problem would be - it's not even possible to fix no matter how much money you have.
But in general, yeah, it would be very cool and useful to have self repairing cars - something that is actually being worked on and already exist to an extent - self repairing alloys (no rust, no scratches etc.). Who knows, maybe in 200 or so years we have something similar to this... Although I seriously doubt it that ever possible to this extent.
The car was totalled... Quite painful to watch.
You see….one does not simply destroy Christine.
*She destroys you.*
Out of all the things to smash...
You choose a demonic car?
I mean.. I call that.. epic bad luck.
@@scottylewis8124Would have been such a cool reference if they used a ‘57 Fury in the car trap from Saw 3D. Although it would be a bit improbable, so is the rest of the film 🤣
1 of my All Time favorite movies!!!!!!
I genuinely feel bad for Arnie. He just wanted something to love, something to call his own, something to get him out from under everyone's thumb.
Bullying criminals mess with Christine, she kill 'em straight to hell
High School angst revenge.
This film is turning 40.
And still WAAAAYYYYY ahead of it’s time to this day.
Damn
I knew this would happen with self driving cars.
If we put AI into them, you bet that sooner or later this would be exactly what would happen. Do not upload chatGP into your tesla XD, it's bit too much emotional not to kill you at first upset XD
In the first scene when they beat up christine i cried and that makes me wanna hug every car i see and wave at them
It sucks they destroyed like 23 cars for the movie. There were 5000. Only 150 now i guess. At least... its immortalized in the movie
@@flowrepins6663A lot of them weren’t ‘57 Fury’s though, often they were Belvedere’s and Savoy’s dressed up to look like Fury’s. So while they destroyed most of the vehicles they had, very few were actual Fury’s. It’s like Crockett’s “Daytona” in Miami Vice, it was one car disguised as another via bodywork.
That rant in the description earned my sub! Couldn't agree more.
6:57 UH OH! A car on fire chasing you is really scary😮😮😮
He should of been zig zagging
A car that fixes itself would be pretty cool especially since you wouldn't have to worry about running out of gas and taking too long to fix it
It takes the blood of it's victim for that, not gas. Signed=Richard.
The bullies screwed Christine, and now she is going to screw them!!
In spades!
This is my dream car!!!!
Honks saying "As the humans say karma is bitch!"
Has there ever been, or will there ever be, a more iconic and bad@$$ image than Christine emerging from the burning gas station engulfed in flames like she came straight up from the depths of hell?!! Awe inspiring image!!! And then she gives Buddy a head start just so she can chase him and mow him down!
Now Imagine being the stuntactor for that shot.
Wife: "How was your day at work honey?"
You: "Best I don't tell you..."
The only girlfriend you'll ever love...and its a car 😂😅
Car doesn't divorce you taking the kids away with it along with your house and most of your assets because the grass seemed to be greener on the other side - even if it was a good life as it was.
I think a lot safer to invest yourself fully into.
@@pibmovieclipsyep and it doesn't complain, it goes wherever you want to go, and never grows old. What more can you ask for lol 😅😂
Don’t make Christine mad or you don’t waana know what she’s goona do to you! 😱
Messed with the wrong car and her man.
always made alot of sense to run right out in the middle of the road........not a good way to hide
Bad ass!
She was fired up, for sure!!!!
Esse Filme é Épico.pra sempre Christine..
Bad ideal to piss off Christine she will get even
She really had the "obsessed girlfriend" vibe, but she also had the same effect on her "boyfriends" being obsessive over her. I really like that element of the backstory in the movie.
@Ariel Quinn Can you even imagine to destroy such a beautiful now classic? It caused me physical pain to see that. I was so happy for her to just "fix" herself and get even with those punks.
Still the hero it this story, not the villain.
Imagine the reboot or sequel they will made a true story what happen with the car sports classic.
Interesting with the movie.
I like this movie
The real Hot Wheels. She's got good taste in music too.
What did they do to her
Is Christine a Plymouth?
I wouldn't be the person to ask this ( USA veterans prior 60ties are my weak point in my cars' knowledge), but I would guess YES.
It's a plymouth fury
No, it is a Plymouth Belvidere it is portrayed as a Fury, because that is a better name, however, there are many differences between a Belvedere and a Fury. I restored one of these cars with a friend over the course of five years.
@@kevinmueller5284 Thanks for the correction.
@@kevinmueller5284 I heard they used several Belveders as well as Furies to make the movie
That's what happens when you disrespect Christine
Why did he physically attach the girl with him 😮😢
Show me…..
Hold on a minute! Where did the bonnet/hood come from it was completely missing
The front bumper isn’t smashed to pieces either. It was hard for them to totally preserve continuity between scenes as they smashed up different cars, and then the footage of the car rebuilding itself was filmed separately, so you get some noticeable continuity errors.
Bad ideal
BAD - I D E A... learn to speak English
i agee ...
PERFECT movie but the ending was trash
Agreed. I wouldn't say trash personally, but it wasn't good either.
In 2024 Remake Of Christine Stephen King
For real?
Yeah For Real Stephen King Annunced To Remake Christine In 2024
@@paulinayexannihtorres1709 Let's hope it will do it justice then.
Probably have everything gender swapped and mixed everything up like every other remake.
@@Theshark15z Abomination!
but unlikely with the car - they would never replace Christine (female) with Chris (male) car as the "main character".
Although that would mean they could replace the "obsessed driver" with "boss girl" character...
Dang, you could be onto something.
moovie shit
Christine could have just turned on her headlights any killed them
