Hey Brother, great story. We have started feeding our pigs here in Victoria Australia. We have 11 Saddle back pigs, they are around 8 months old. Roughly 80kilos each. I feed them 4 scoops of soaked oats and 3 scoops of soaked lupin and 3 scoops of soaked corn. Mixed with 4 buckets of spent brewery grain and 3 baskets of fresh azola (roughly 12kilo wet) and 1 bucket of apples chopped. I give it all a good mix and feerdf it to them. The apples I collect off th ground at a local orchard. I think I could possibly do away with the seetd and give them rice bran. As the seed is costly....
But my pigs are so healthy and happy since the azola. Its awesome. We only discovered it cos our dam started growing it when the pump failed. Lucky mistake.
A combination of Azolla and Madre de agua is a good protein source for animal feed, Azolla is Good for fish, Rabbit and Poultry. Madre de agua is also suitable as a protein source for poultry,Rabbit, goat and cattle. Keep it up MARTIN MWAKI, You are a champion of change

Great information on quality and affordable livestock protein rich feed, in form of azolla plant. The presenter is very clear, and provided comprehensive information on azolla production and use.
Sadly Azolla protein is poorly absorbed it is a ok food NOT a good food

Avoid chicken manure,it will make your pond acidic within a short while thus curtailing the growth of the azolla.Cow manure works best

my question is how is it fed to chicken /animals do u need to first dry the azolla?
You don't need to dry it,they can eat it straight from the pond.
But for feeding cows, especially if you've used cow manure to grow your azolla,rinse it in clean water first (after harvesting) before feeding it to your cows.Otherwise they will not eat it if it has a strong smell of dung
