  • The electronics of the micro hydro install are in a hard place to access. Its time to get the midnite solar classic 200 connected to the internet. I use a cat 6 cable to connect to the Ethernet port of the midnite solar classic. The I set the unit to DHCP. This setting allows the router to talk to the classic without me having to setup network settings. I use the classic monitor app on my phone to read the data.

    My god... invest in some cable management, or make your own, Zip ties and staples. proper routing and dressing will save you SOOOO much time moving forward.

    I just bought a farm house and there were many projects "on the go". It has taught me the importance of labelling wires, cables, ethernet cables, switches. Even creating a little rough-and-ready diagram of what goes where is a helpful thing. Might also save you getting accidentally zapped or spiking a piece of expensive gear. Really enjoying your videos thanks Seth. Keep 'em coming along.

      I agree! I am going to be moving down to a 48v system with 8 batteries. So... solar is coming up next and then I will be working in better cable management...i hope.

    That’s a pretty awesome power output. Since we have net metering I find myself checking not only my app but my meter multiple times daily. Keep up the good work!

    The midnite solar is so expensive especially here in africa ,there is no way we can make cheap power like you,I have a project ,the same as yours but when it comes to financing, we must go slow😂😂😂anyway you are doing a nice work

      It is really expensive! I started this hydro project 8 months ago. It has taken me a year to buy these things. My solar panels have been installed over 2 years waiting for the batteries. I totally understand going slow.

    This is really helpful. We’re you ever able to get the battery monitoring working too? If so did it require an extra device?

  • @VickyGeagan
    @VickyGeagan Před 4 lety

    Seth I would have plugged in the blue tooth dongle that plugs into the Ethernet port it is just a blue tooth transmitter option available from Midnight classic. If you have a blue tooth card on your laptop you can do you logs and all without having to run wires it will also work on your mobile devices. RV prepper Wayne has an older video on how to hook one up on his you tube channel.

      When our house was going in the grading guy suggested that I add another block high. It has been great! I should have installed a larger door but its all good. Having the internet and app with this power system is so nice! Now I can eat breakfast and watch the watts come in.
