- The electronics of the micro hydro install are in a hard place to access. Its time to get the midnite solar classic 200 connected to the internet. I use a cat 6 cable to connect to the Ethernet port of the midnite solar classic. The I set the unit to DHCP. This setting allows the router to talk to the classic without me having to setup network settings. I use the classic monitor app on my phone to read the data.

My god... invest in some cable management, or make your own, Zip ties and staples. proper routing and dressing will save you SOOOO much time moving forward.
I just bought a farm house and there were many projects "on the go". It has taught me the importance of labelling wires, cables, ethernet cables, switches. Even creating a little rough-and-ready diagram of what goes where is a helpful thing. Might also save you getting accidentally zapped or spiking a piece of expensive gear. Really enjoying your videos thanks Seth. Keep 'em coming along.
I agree! I am going to be moving down to a 48v system with 8 batteries. So... solar is coming up next and then I will be working in better cable management...i hope.
@@LandtoHouse Well that sounds like a couple more great videos coming up. Looking forward to it. Cheers
That’s a pretty awesome power output. Since we have net metering I find myself checking not only my app but my meter multiple times daily. Keep up the good work!
Seth, you should have been a mad scientist. Great video and tech.
The midnite solar is so expensive especially here in africa ,there is no way we can make cheap power like you,I have a project ,the same as yours but when it comes to financing, we must go slow😂😂😂anyway you are doing a nice work
It is really expensive! I started this hydro project 8 months ago. It has taken me a year to buy these things. My solar panels have been installed over 2 years waiting for the batteries. I totally understand going slow.
i'm in vietnam i really like your model and i want to follow thanks for sharing
Love the content
i would so be digging pathways under there so you can stand to get access to the main things id also move the holes to behind the self so it looks more tidy
This is really helpful. We’re you ever able to get the battery monitoring working too? If so did it require an extra device?
Seth I would have plugged in the blue tooth dongle that plugs into the Ethernet port it is just a blue tooth transmitter option available from Midnight classic. If you have a blue tooth card on your laptop you can do you logs and all without having to run wires it will also work on your mobile devices. RV prepper Wayne has an older video on how to hook one up on his you tube channel.
Seems to me Bluetooth might not have a long/strong enough reach for his purposes?
Was looking for that same midnite classic 200 controller but I can't get to such budget,I'll go for cheap chinese makeskyblue if possible I'll upgrade in future.thanks for updates
This one was really expensive! But it has worked well.
We've had ours running in a hot jungle climate for about 6 years
Hi! it is an awesome video. Could you please share the Classic monitor App phone version installation process? Thanks
looks good!
i like the way it using the network rather then like epever series system makes for less wire runs does this work over wan or just lan
thought this was to show how to connect to the midnite classic to the internet, think you missed a few steps
How did you get your app to work, nothing I do is working, have the app but won't connect to the classic
Can only read the midnight when I'm connected to the router. No access remotely. Any ideas?
Lot of people in my country (Malaysia) are looking for alternative source today . They mostly using solar system..for me this mini hydro is the better way coz lots of stream and creek here..i wounder what is the price of this turbine sales in Malaysia Ringgit...

That software is cool, where did you get it from?
Its called classic monitor in the Google play store.
@@LandtoHouse Cheers for that.
So I thought that internet peace wasn't actually there and my eyes were playing a tricks on me
How much for the cable. Nice video btw
Its just a normal ethernet cable. I paid $15.
what the device comming of the cuax and into the main plus socket
Looks like an amplifier
Can’t find the app
This one is just called "classic"
I am so jealous of your crawl space, I have 10" in mine. You can never have enough electrical tape. Great vids. Criminey millenials needing internet , I'm getting infected with your computer geekiness. Help!
When our house was going in the grading guy suggested that I add another block high. It has been great! I should have installed a larger door but its all good. Having the internet and app with this power system is so nice! Now I can eat breakfast and watch the watts come in.
Years ago when the Prius came out people became obsessed with watching their mileage on the huge display panel, it actually was diagnosed as psychiatric condition. I think you have Wattage obsession!
Elementary my dear Watts on... dad joke.
@@LandtoHouse Ow, that made me wince, been guilty of dad jokes a couple times also.
