I think the thing about these dances is that they're meant to be silly and stupid and make people laugh because in the harshness of life way back when laughter was important for healing bringing people together. Dancing together especially creates good relationships among the townsfolk

@Helēna Brodere As a Latvian myself, who has attended the song and dance festivals, who has worn the traditional dress, and who has a vainagi sitting across from me right now, I know how much time goes into these dances ;)
But that doesnt stop me from thinking they can look silly, and I dont mean that in an offensive way, but a joyous way because we knew how to let loose and understood that everything didn't have to be so serious all the time.

I don't think they look silly at all, I find it rather beúatifúl ..find the Latvian culture fascinating. Such beautiful people, would love to visit and immerse myself in their lovely culture someday..,

This was such a nice dance! Sometimes I wish Lithuanian folk dance was as energetic and silly (in a good way) as this, though I still love my culture as well. Love ya Latvians though! Fun, beautiful dance :D
