I think the reason bts is so close to their boss and manager and other staff is because they all really struggled in the beginning and had to rely on each other so much because the company was so poor and they nearly went bankrupt at one point. With a lot of companies that are short staffed and has little money, the staff probably also had to do 2 or 3 peoples jobs at once. I think these things inevitably creates a bond when people go through such struggles together.

Bang PD is actually now the co-CEO of Big Hit. He brought in a friend who has been a part of the company for years Lenzo Yoon. He wanted to focus on the groups and the music. He left Lenzo Yoon with the business side. Big Hit also manages BTS' sunbaes (little brothers) Tomorrow by Together (TXT). They have also absorbed another agency (Source Music) and GFriend are under the umbrella now.
We even got an example of that argument/resolution practice in their first docu-movie Burn The Stage. V and Jin got into an argument right before a concert. RM said there is no V or Jin right now it's only BTS and we will talk about this later and later the showed the member putting in their input before leaving V and Jin alone to fully solve their fight.
Bang PD kept the promise he made in the letter. The day was at one of their tour dates in London I believe. ARMY kept reporting seeing him just strolling around among them, standing in line for merch and just hanging out. But it was reported to us that he said he came to keep the promise.
Also unlike many companies we recently learned something that amazed me knowing minuscule bits of the music industry. The guys signed their new contract with BH early by about a year. It was another 7 year contract which is usually the norm with Idol groups. But what is unique to me being a US fan and seeing all the horrific contract disputes lately from artists is that Bang PD told the guys and their parents to get their own representation as in lawyers, accountants etc so that they can always have their own people keeping BH in check, making sure they get their best deals. WHAT CEO TELLS HIS ARTISTS TO DO THIS?? Who cares so much for their artists that he wants them to always have their own voice and protections when it comes to their business? That is a man looking at these guys like his family.
Don't worry about how you got into BTS and the time frame. We have a saying in the fandom: BTS comes into your life when you need them. They may have interested you before but now is the time you were truly ready for them and that's cool. As long as you listen with open heart and mind like you do, it doesn't matter.

You was wrong when saying its norm for idol groups to renew contract another 7 years. Its actually rare. Kpop groups contract only 7-10 years. And some of them prefer to renew for another 1-2year or not renew at all. Renew for another 7 years straight is really none heard of. Its show that how much trust BTS have toward bighit.

I remember in an old interview/article about “recreating” the magic of BTS in other groups...basically, they were discussing the “formula” that made BTS stand above other groups. I can’t remember which BigHit staff said it (I believe it was Bang PD) who said that it would difficult to create a group such as BTS again. How do you recreate a group whose members’ personalities and dynamics all mesh and complement one another so perfectly that they basically work to grow and bring out the best in one another, not just as a musician, but as a person?

In the segment where he’s talking about conflict resolution, from that talk he also answered an audience question about the international audience. The audience member asked how it is that the international audience enjoys BTS music and their music videos when there may be an issue of language, and also the music video content is complex with story telling and hidden themes and messages (suggesting that the international audience is unable to interpret the music and videos).
Bang PD was quick to point out that in fact his experience of the international audience was the opposite. He said that in fact in the early days, it was the domestic Korean audience who rejected the story telling, and themes and messages in the music videos, that they complained asking why they have to think about the music and videos, saying they just wanted their boys to look pretty and handsome, and have nice/cool dance choreography. He said it was international fans that spent time not only translating lyrics, but diving deep into deciphering and interpreting the content of the music videos.
Regarding conflict resolution, we actually saw an example of it in the BURN THE STAGE docu-series. There was a conflict prior to going on stage between two members and they had to hold off resolving it, we saw RM being leader getting everyone to focus back on the concert, and we saw the conflict resolution when they were back at the hotel.

I believe the growth and depth of relationship they have with Bang PD started because of how small the company was when they started. I remember this video of Bang Pd and PDogg (another of BigHit's in house producer) talking about when they would come to their office and just play board games because they had no work or schedules since they were almost bankrupt. They talked about them not knowing what to do in 2014 if BTS' album failed (which thankfully it didn't). At around 2013, I think the company only had around 20+ employees which is why it was very easy for them to have a very close relationship. Now it's a huge company with more than 200+ employees, not counting the other companies BigHit acquired. The boys said once that they're sad that they don't know some of the other people around them since there are so many of them. BTS alone have 100 staff assigned to them. They try to build relationships with them too, esp their security team, managers and make up artists and stylists.

32:04 So far I've been into kpop since 2009-2010 and I will tell you I've seen many artists and companies and their relationships with their artists and a lot of time you hear things like I've never even seen the CEO or you hear that the CEO only takes time to talk and spend time with an artist once they actually start making them some money ( as far as I know and have seen at least). But big hit culture has always been different and the boys really do cherish their staff (choreographer, manager, producers, dancing crew) and their CEO and the staff and the CEO returns that affection right back. They are super playful with each other and they work off of each other very well. Bang PD actually goes to their concerts (usually smiling like a proud dad and even standing in line to get the merch like a normal fan, and basically hanging out outside on the grass with ARMY).
The fandom truly appreciates him, and the boys really respect and love him too. And they are very proud of BIG HIT just as BIG HIT is proud of them. It's a wholesome relationship, one of the most wholesome ones I've seen so far in the industry. BTW Sejin is one of the main managers for the group and he is almost always with the boys and he loves the boys and the boys love him too. The fans actually call him the 8th member of BTS sometimes and we truly appreciate him too.

He actually in the first years took all the members separately out to lunch or dinner, talking to and encouraging them (for example when RM and SUGA had this well-known situation with the underground rapper calling them being like girls for wearing make up and being idols, Bang PD took both of them to dinner and talked to them and comforted them!)

That is the main difference between BigHit and the other labels/companies. BigHit treat its artists right, as human beings and not like possessions it owns and controls. Sadly, other entertainment companies are so strict and suffocate their artists and do not give much freedom even in writing their own songs.

I've been an ARMY since 2014 and I've always had a fondness for Bang PD. When I was first diving into BTS I made it a point to look into who their CEO was and how their company ran things because I'm no stranger to artists being mistreated by the label that is supposed to be supporting them. Learning about Bang PD was such a pleasant shock; the way he spoke about his beliefs really stuck with me.
On a sort of related note, it's why I'm so fond of the relationship between my other favorite group (Dreamcatcher) and their company. Dreamcatcher is a 7 member girl group from a small company, Happy Face Entertainment. The girls always speak of their staff in such a happy tone and that includes their CEO. I remember one of the member was doing a livestream and mentioned how their CEO texted the group that he misses them when they go overseas to tour. Just last year the company announced that they were forming a sublabel where the staff would focus solely on Dreamcatcher to better cater to their needs and help them succeed.
It's so sad that a good relationship between an artist and their label is rare enough that Big Hit and Happy Face stand out to me so much but I'm also glad that there are entertainment companies out there that do want their artists to not just make them money but also thrive in their craft.

On top of all the amazing information that Ebony71 mentioned below there were a couple of other things that occurred to me. I do know that RM has talked in the past about a promise that Bang PD made to him in the very beginning that he would always make sure their content was relevant to their lives and the message they wanted to portray and I believe he has stuck to his promise 100%. I was blown away the first time I came across an old track of BTS from 2012 (pre-debut) called "A Typical Trainee's Christmas". They are basically bitching about their lives as trainees and I was shocked that Big Hit let them release it. czcams.com/video/GpRZUgWgeXw/video.html I have also noticed that they all seem to be given individual creative license to pursue things other than BTS content...things like their individual mixed tapes, V's acting stint in Hwarang, etc. I think the reason that a lot of members historically leave groups is because they don't have that freedom to do solo projects....Camila Cabello leaving Fifth Harmony comes to mind but I'm sure there are tons of examples.

Could we please have some BTS music soon it has been over one month since your first and last reaction to a BTS mv.That obscure rap from RM was not BTS ,it was RM and a couple of other rappers doing a diss track before BTS was debuted. It feels like you know the info about them but not their music.
