Hey everyone! Developer of the game here. Thank you for the feedback and many ideas in the comments, hope you'll like the game when it releases tomorrow. And thank you Tom for making a great video!
It seems clear that Tom loves games with tessellating polygons about as much as he enjoys 1upping Ben with facts regarding tessellating polygons.
But does he love them more or less than Warhammer Lore stories involving poop?

Some of the sounds this game has are not very zen. Especially when you pick up a chest: BZZZZ!
Right? I think he's got some security notifications and windows updates that need his attention.
The only way I can describe the sound is "a digital bumblebee bumping into your motherboard".
Having to build military fortifications to defend against enemy bombardments is... not very zen at all, I think.
Okay, I know that Tom makes misplays all the time and that’s why we love him, but the moment at 24:21 when he’s like “are there any holes to fill in?” and then LITERALLY DRAGS THE PIECE OVER A HOLE WHERE IT FITS PERFECTLY AND WOULD THEREFORE GET HIM THE MOST POINTS and then moves away to attach it to a random edge, in the most inefficient way theoretically possible? That hurt.
for whatever reason (I cannot tell why because it does look like a perfect fit) I dont think he was allowed to place it there, cos it wasnt highlighted green.

As a control freak watching people play these games very inefficiently is hard. lol But Tom is entertaining enough to keep me around.
It’s funny watching someone who loves these tessellation tile placement types of games but yet too lazy too tessellate them properly.

I’m rewatching ‘Moons of Madness’ with Simon as I miss the old days of a game that Tom played all the way through. I wish he would play a proper game. It’s fun with him and Simon. As this is like so many of the other tile games dunno how he doesn’t get bored.
All these games like Zen World, Dorfromantik, etc. I imagine being great for a DM making a world for DnD

Not sure if it's early access, but this is a bit of a weird game. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of incentive to build towns etc. Just seems to be all about exploring for which as much water is much more effective.
Beyond that, the music is so discordant; it really puts you on edge.
Whoever soundtracked this game *really* likes Music For Airports. I mean it is a great album but still the influence is super obvious lol

At least it is different enough to be its own game. This is another game I would never have tried on my own.

Another TBCBP game you might be interested in Tom is "Fate Tectonics."
this feels like a mix of 'Fate Tectonics' and 'Carto'.
if you haven't played those before Tom, i recommend them.
Carcassonne anyone? Literally a tabletop game where you place hexagon pieces one turn at a time to build roads, fields and cities. Granted the goal is different but the concept is almost identical to this.
Carc is definitely squares and not hexes.

WAT-A-TILE! i dont think tom knows about american Wat-A-Burger chains but growing up as a kid (and still now as an adult) i always call them WATERBURGER
so this is basically Cartographer Simulator.

Fate Tectonics was a nice game like this, it sucks it doesn't have more content like building bigger and bigger civilizations.

I am 20 minutes in and so far no classic Tom water clip despite all the water tiles... very sad times
i realy hoppe tom put the tower facing the opposite direction of the edge of explored land it was on...by purpuse XD
i have a sneaking suspicion he only got like 50% out of its sight range otherwise...but love how he put down a town marker ,almost right next to one naturaly generated.
hmm...looks like it might need something like ''mangrove & reef'' shallows for sea based settlements and 'boat camps' to counter sea side 'raiders' ..or just sea monsters or it feels like going heavy water dont leet you enjoy being aa benelovent god helping the little ones learn about security so to speak as ther boats just zips by those towers ,even the settlement arcs as if they werent there hehe
hmm..this reminds me , i wonder if kingdoms and castles uppdated so it can work smoother with that proper map size mod..

I dont understand why these kind of games give me anxiety
You keep choosing science upgrades and then don't even use them. Very frustrating to watch! LOL You kept ignoring the bottom left upgrade that would have helped you immensely with your water strategy. It fills all surrounding tiles every time you build a city.
The sound effects in this game sound horrible
