      I thought of the same thing. You keep a serial number they give you when you buy pretty much any lock. Manufacturer can then get you a replacement key. Video suggests you keep this # in a safe, I might keep it with the key, hidden in my car. My guess is that, like a potential thief, a shop would have a lot of trouble removing this lock design if you had no key AND no serial number so definitely keep serial number safe so that Mfr. could sell you a replacement key. This product look great, and I want to go with this plus a cheaper sliding sleeve type lock on opposite side of wheel. My only concern is with the key replacement availability in the future, as this is a startup, and their video from a year ago mentioned not getting kickstarter funding. Apparently they got that and are doing well now, but will product be supported in future, and the replacement key availabile 10 years from now? I may inquire about just buying an extra key now and putting one in a safe and one in the car, as folks have said this is a good value for the quality. Great idea and I wish them the best of luck and hope they do have a long term and viable business here.

    Man if they want it, they CAN get it! If they got enough time. Most ADVANCED theives tow the whole damn car now. That's why it's important to keep your insurance coverage up to date in case this happens to you..

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  Před 3 lety +1

      Here is the thing, my car is 15 years old and insurance would treat me that way paying me nothing. My suspension and exhaust cost more than the car is worth. I live in a high rise with a 6 story parking garage. I've seen a couple of cars sitting on cinder blocks, wheels stolen. One was for OEM wheels on a 4-runner and the other was a mustang with like 2k wheels. Without a doubt, I have the nicest wheels in the building. It's a lot easier to get away with stealing wheels vs stealing a car. Plus the jail time is a lot more serious for grand theft auto and finding the car always happens; not with wheels. I'm not worry about someone stealing my car, it's a stick shift. People can't drive sticks. Plus I got eyes in the building on my car.

      I totally understand what you're saying. But like I said, if they want it bad enough, they can get it. I have a G37 coupe, with almost 30k in mine with 3pc custom Advant Guard wheels. I took an extra insurance policy out on it, so I'm covered for every dime in it. The reason I said advanced theives, is because they tow vehicles, they don't take wheels...they just take the whole car WITH people watching!! No driving required. ANYONE can be touched, at ANY time bro..

      Why are you tring to give me nightmares? Yeah I have an issue with insurance companies, I always have. Even my 2017 Lincoln, I only have liabilty coverage, same with my G. Because if you do the math out for 5 years what you are paying in insurance for what ifs, comes out to the exact price it cost if something did happen. To have full coverage on my 2017 lincoln with a $2,500 deductible over 5 years is $7,000. So if something did happen, the insurance company already has 7k from me and then wants another 2,500 to make the claim. I only paid 16k cash for the car. Not doing it, I hate insurance companies. I've had my G35 15 years and I have never made a claim. The price I paid in insurance I could have 2 G35's. Donn't even get me started...

      Lmao!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But 2500 deductible!!😳😳😯 I'm nowhere NEAR that!! Damn!! In fact, your deductible is my six months coverage!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣And that's for FOUR vehicles!! Sounds like you need to move. But I do understand about the "what ifs"....thats where the term comes in that "I'd rather be safe that sorry". I don't like insurance companies either. No way in hell am I putting my G on the streets with just liability!! Someone could hit you, and you're fucked!! 🤷‍♂️ But we not going to speak any of this into existence!!😉😊

      @@nonameisthename138 ..we could debate this all day, but insurance companies love people like us, we are the profit. When you know you only have liability coverage, you drive differently. Not one accident in 15 years with the G35. I pass everyone, I'm always at the front of the pack of traffic to not get rock chips. My exhaust sends Shockwaves as I drive and I drive more aggressive than anyone else on the road. I will even pass you in the berm if are in the fast lane impeding traffic. I don't use turn signals because that is asking for permission to turn, I don't ask with turn signals or people floor it to not allow you over. I aggressively lane cut without asking. I'm the definition of a horrible driver to insurance companies and people. Yet, I've never been in an accident. Call it luck, but I call it skill.
