  • In this video showcase we can have a look at the 1987 headmaster brainstorm. See him here in both modes. I’ll point out things you need to be aware of if after one for yourself. Show you how he looks and can be displayed with and without his accessories.
    I’ll show you newer versions of him that have been released down the generations toyline.
    I can then show you different packaging g variants of him too. Join this channel to get access to perks:

    I lost my soul when you moved the legs, never new those ratchets were so tight. It's videos likes these that I love, just the amount of Info and knowledge you can from your vids

      Yeah the ratchets on these are notorious in the collecting world. I was genuinely sweating when I moved it. Glad you’re finding them interesting. I’m always worried they go on too long or I say too much.
      I literally just talk off the cuff in one take for my G1 videos

    For me what made these g1toys sell wasn't just the toy it self but the actual box art.
    When i saw these figures back in the 80s the box art alone drawed me in to ask my parents to buy me one 😊

      This is so true. Have you got the legacy box artwork book? If not type that in to the search bar on here to see a book I know you’ll love.

      I was actually going to buy this on eBay after you had mentioned it on your live feed last week.
      But unfortunately it's no longer available on Amazon and eBay sellers are only offering the tatty book at ridiculous prices.
      Will there be a chance you will review this book in future?

    The way I've found transforming the legs tot be stress free is by holding the upper thighs side on to get the right angle on them and then holding the body between the collar bone and thigh and gently squeezing. It tends to lock it in place while putting minimum pressure on thr plastic. Btw your one in vehicle mode is slightly mistransformed as the thighs should be one click further back- that will make the back of the lower legs sit flush with the back of the arms.

      @ToysareRuss  Před 11 měsíci

      I did realise that with the vehicle mode one as I put him back in his box. Them ratchets are awful still though.

    sorry to keep spamming with history comments.. but....
    at age 10/11 ish. my dad took me to an indepentant toy shop in hull. i had saved up 16 one pound coins in a a pouch after xmas....
    I found and bought Brainstorm as my first headmaster for £11.99 (thankfully still got him on display), and it created my love for the g1 headmaster series.
    tbh - the original head/target/power masters (especially on the decepticon side I think!) were far better than alot of other new 'hasbro' designs for any othe ranges from then.
    cheers again

    Do you plan on doing any reviews of the titans return headmasters? I'm debating whether or not to get the ones in the retro carded packaging cause they seem to be the only ones that are readily available currently from Hasbro

    I enjoyed the toy as a kid, but those dinky t-rex arms never made sense for me...some of the early figures based off real world vehicles had certain built in limitations...but when its a cybertronian jet that can look however you want why would you make those choices...although this is the company that chose to make Wheelie look how he does, maybe some of the designers just really hated their job

    • @ToysareRuss
      @ToysareRuss  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I never even noticed he had small arms until you just said so. I definitely didn’t notice it as a kid either

      that and powermaster optimus prime's short arms🤣 ...as kids, I guess we kinda tried to gloss over those facts in our imagination!

    Hey Russ, some WD-40 on a cotton tip should clean up that rust/corrosion on the Headmaster pins. Won’t harm the plastic. Let it soak in for a coupla minutes.

      @ToysareRuss  Před 11 měsíci
