You know he’s really feeling it when he goes for the falsetto parts
He can’t help it 😂 in his prime he was one of the best falsetto singers of all time.
Its just so sad his voice is not what it once was ....
Wilson is a pioneer and absolute legend in my mind ...
He is one of the greatest ....
Well even if it weren't for the drugs, he still struggled with mental illness and other physical health issues. Age is another factor, I'm just happy he was still out there performing and post 2000s he looks happier than ever before. His voice is pretty decent too. Of course we can never go back to the 60s, but that's just life :).@@patmcardle2769
He may look happy but at his happiest would of been the original beach boys on stage having a good time
I love to see Brian Wilson so animated. That means he is happy and enjoying touring. That is what he deserves more of in his life. Thank you, Brian
the hand motions make him love him so much he seems so pure
Brian Wilson is amazing. He always makes me feel so tearful for some reason. He reminds me of my dad.
Sharon Ellis I was just thinking the same thing!
Probably cos he's a tortured genius
he is a mastermind ...
@@eccremocarpusscaber5159 - He also reminds you of Sharon's dad?

The bright mind of the Beach Boys. The great Brian Wilson.
Dont care about your problems when you hear this song.....Brian Wilsons voice is more powerful than any drug.....
You can clearly see this man was born to make great music
Seeing Brian happy warms my heart. Finishing Smile must've been such a huge accomplishment for him.
He seems so relaxed
he finally made it home....eh....
@brian me no you shut up your mouth

What an incredible version of what may well be the greatest song of our pop era !
Brian Wilson is a genius! Love to see him so happy on stage
I have so much love and respect for this incredible man! What he's gone through in his life is unimaginable, yet he's made it out strong and still, here in 2005 and in 2021, doing what he loves.
The man is absolute pure musical genius, from the studio to songwriting to musical arrangements, experiments, technical advances and more. So many people don't realize just how much Brian solely contributed to what followed.
I mean, look at Pet Sounds... That album would be advanced for today, and it's pure Bliss start to finish.
Mad respect for Brian! What an amazing dude.
2023. And a smile just came to my face. This songs been with me since childhood. 55 this yr n STILL loving this song. This recording seriously just made my day!
The layers in this song still blow me away
It’s weird, how she comes in so strong. And I wonder what she’s picking up from me :) love these lyrics, and the whole good vibes thing is universal and everyone feels that. When someone comes in the room with beautiful intentions and you feel the air shift with the positive charge. Rock and roll.
@Ban Fox Sin tony asher with brian. mike's revamped lyrics changed the entire meaning of the song. they arent bad lyrics, but they arent what brian wanted to convey.
He added another track right before your eyes...."clap and keep it up"
The world has changed much since 2005. Be at peace everyone... Brian's beautiful smile.
I was a newborn I wish I was old enough to have experienced the year I was born in ;(
Brian Wilson Genio assoluto.
This is better then the Live Aid performance, the way it quietens down with the harmonica coming through is beautiful
Love how Brain brings out the best in everybody on stage
*I don’t know where, but she sends me there*
The world can’t thank you enough Brian.
I used to feel disappointed when I saw old rock stars surrounding themselves with younger people who are still at the top of their game. Now I get that it's just part of the deal getting older.
Cool message in here
It just shows how professional they are. Accept that you can't always reach the right notes as often and surround yourself with those who can. It takes nothing away from the great Brian Wilson and his music.
the last hurrah....???
I guess... but it's kind of different here, one could argue... since Brian Wilson's strength was always composing, rather than performing, we don't see a deterioration here. Also there are no major vocal challenges in his songs. Now I do love the fact that he theorizes his family connection led to better harmonies, but tbh the cool thing about Beach Boys songs is, they are like Mozart... anyone can play 'em, and anyone can sing 'em, and if they respect the original material, they can sound really good.
So the cool thing about this is, you don't see the original band struggling to hit high notes or whatever because that was never really their bag. In that sense, it might EVEN be more timeless than the Beatles, because it is (in my opinion) not as linked to their personalities. I am happy hearing lots of people play Brian Wilson's music because he was never really a performer to begin with and he gave his music away (essentially.) But the Beatles, for some reason, if anyone else plays their music, it just kinda screams 'cover band.' I dunno...
Now if you'll excuse me, my microwave jonny cakes are ready.

I'm 34 and just got into Brian Wilson's "The Beach Boys" this year because of this performance! I have a CRT TV for old video games and I started watching my old VCR recordings from when I was a teen in the 2000s. I watched Pink Floyd Live 8 and I remembered I had the DVD set of that event as well so I wanted to compare the quality of it vs the VHS. Of course I couldn't find the Pink Floyd disc so I put another disc and skimmed through it and this song came on. I knew the "good, good, good, good vibrations" part of the song (probably from a commercial or movie) but I don't think I ever heard the more complex parts. I even thought "oh they are just spicing up the song for the live performance". So I listened to the studio version and it blow my mind at 1:45 exci---tations. One of the most amazing things I ever heard. Been a Brian Wilson addict ever since.
Amazing. Just slipped in there and conducted and performed like he'd never stopped. I've watched a lot on the BB, but I think the above clip is the first time I've seen Brian give a genuine smile. He looks lovely when he smiles. :)
"I don't know where, but she sends me there"
Brian is a gift from the universe.
I'm still crushing on Brian Wilson after all these years.
😍 ♥️ 😎 ☺️ ☮️ ✌️ 🖖
♥️Love The Beach Boys 💙💙
9/21/2020. 👵 😷
Awwww, bless! It's so cute to see Brian approximate Mike's hand movements.
:-)
What's cool is that even in the 21st century the sound of a Theramin is still kept in not a synth or other method such as a computer.
I love Brian hand movements when he performs.
It's great to see Brian smile. (Pun intended!)
I hope the people at this concert realise how lucky they are !
Rock on Brian. You bring us so many positive memories. Thank you.
They were in good voice that night, but geeze....every time I see The Beach Boy's even though this is billed as a Brian Wilson Show, I can't keep up with who's in the band anymore. Great band and memories growin up in the 60's, me being from the East Coast NJ/NYC we were into Frankie Valli & The Seasons, it was like us against the west coast surfer sound. Then when you get older and that crap wears off, and you sit back and REALLY listen to Pet Sounds.....then...fa get abboud it. Beach Boys were a part of my life as a musician, a fan, and as a music lover of Harmonies.
this does put a smile on my face
this is def one of my favorite live performances of ANY artist ever he sounds so good and it looks like hes having so much fun
Brian looks so much happier without Mike Love there.
Why
@@osamabinladen824 Mike Love is just an asshole and a creep.
Amen
@@milkmanchristian9859 not just that lol, it goes on and on and on
@@milkmanchristian9859 no he’s not
Just legendary, I pray I get to see him live before he’s done
Best live rendition ever
So much relief without Mike Love , . The Genius Brian Wilson really feel that song .
@mr gwanson I don't like Mike, he used to complain how he was the real composer and bla bla bla.. we all know that Wilson is the Genius because he's the one that turned Mike's idea into music... Do I hate him? No I don't have a reason. I don't like Scott Peterson so you do

Great music.....great job Brian and the band.....love it

Brian is a genius !
Amazing quality for 2005
Do you mean the quality of the performance or video quality? Cause 2005 was only 16 years ago, high def footage has always been around, so long as the source is good
@@demoleramera If you look at other videos from 2005, the quality is rarely this good.
That band is super tight
This version grew on me majorly. Sweet.
Love that big grin at around 1.20.
You dont need Mike love....brain looks so happier❤❤
Emocionante demais

Wow this version is AWESOME
I think Brian is by far the cutest beach boy 🥰
Agreed ☺️ doesn’t matter if he’s old or young. He’s always been adorable.

That smile ♥️♥️♥️
Amazing! ❤🇮🇹
Beh, viva l'Italia!
Brian Wilson 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️ 🌸
My hero, I wish I could do it like him.
I'm crying, Brian thank you.
Wonderful arrangement.
Boy, oh boy!! Was this not a high water mark in the solo career of Brian Wilson, or what?!!
yes indeed
It still sounds weird with the Tony Asher Lyrics, but if it keeps Mike Love from getting a check, I’m all for it.
I thought something was off, and truth be told mikes lyrics are better
Amazing song
What a band supporting him FANTASTIC 3:48
Happy 80 . BrIan!
A Masterpiece !!!
I've feeling good vibrations , fab band

I love seeing and hearing Brian back in step. He's looking and sounding goood !!! Can't imagine how hard it must be for him to be performing without his little brothers. This performance is Outstanding !!!
😢
Genius ❤️
yeah....das ist ser gut....danke.....Brian...
Love this so much!!!!!
nice find of the alternate version of good vibrations sometimes dubed the better version
the original version is definitely the best imo, but this is still great
My dad's a huge Beach Boys fan, and I don't think even he knew there were alternate lyrics to the song. I certainly didn't, and Good Vibrations is one of my favorites as well.
I've listened to the alternate versions more than the original. It's even more worthy of the name mini opera. It's just great, those chants right before the end. Hauntingly beautiful. This is wonderful!
I can't see why people find the original to be the better version, maybe if it was mixed better it could've been better, but Brian's falsetto, while beautiful, overpowered the mix and I could barely hear the harmonies. The lead vocals were also scratch vocals that were never redubbed, and again, as much of an amazing singer Brian is, I find Carl's lead to be essential and it's Brain handling the lead in the alt. version. Finally I hate the fuzz guitar part and they made the right call to replace that part with the church organ section.
I like Mike’s lyrics better, but they definitely should have kept the “and I’m picking up”/“I hope it’s...” that leads into the chorus. It pumps you up effectively.
Genius ❤❤❤
Genius , that’s not a word used lightly
All the vocals make this song.
Love Bryan
¡¡¡ MARAVILLOSO !!!
Love & Mercy, everybody!
Estás canciones me recuerdan a mi hermano
So, did anyone notice, guy in the back playing like a million different instruments? wow!
it's blowing ! 🤩
Fabuleux
música de muita qualidade
Funny how the one guitar player looks like Bill camp, who played Murry Wilson in Love & Mercy
BRIAN WILSON REALLY KNOWS HOW TO KICK IT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I TOAST A GLASS TO HIM AND THE REST OF THE GANG!!!
This was 17 years ago.
Happy 79th, Brian...
The best vibrations!
Super
Jeff is the only musician with Brian on stage that played in live aid 85.
And? This the Brian Wilson Band. Not the Beach Boys.
And that is an observation, a fact by the way.
Assalamu'alaikum and peace be upon u...
Capolavoro
It's so hard for people like Brain to do this. The whole world wants you to do it, but you know your brain can't handle it. The incentives are too much. You can collapse. You can collapse. Or not?
Genius
I noticed that these lyrics are different than the original. Still great though
These ARE the original lyrics. Mike Love wrote the version you are familiar with.
original written by tony asher and brian
convey a totally different meaning to the song
Paul Von Mertens hair though...
Brain wilson gênio
I like Tony Asher’s lyrics, but Mike hit this one out of the park. I still hate him, but the lyrics are simple, still complex och great. I wonder though if Brian’s changing the lyrics back to the original wasn’t just a big fuck you to Mike Love.
I think it was actually because Mike Love didn't want Brian to use his lyrics on Brian Wilson presents Smile unless he got paid for it somehow.
Asher never finished the lyrics he and Brian wanted to convey, they were being pressured to put Smile out by capital and Brian needed a prelude to it so he went with a few of the verses being changed by Love.
Of course Love now takes credit for its entirety. I think if Asher and Brian had more time they would have accomplished the impossible by making G.V. even better.
