Mike, thanks for the honest video. I have to say, as the inventor of the BeadBuster, the 1st 16 minutes were painful to watch! It was a tour-de-force of what NOT to do. The 1st mistake was throwing away the instructions AND the warning tag that is on the ram bolt...both of those would have reminded you of the key elements for successful use. 2nd mistake was using that stupid tire changing stand with the post in the way. My favorite way to do this work is on a waist high bench, although the ground works well enough, as you learned. 3rd mistake was NOT DRIVING THE FEET FAR ENOUGH INTO THE LIP OF THE RIM. Even when you started using the impact, your weren't getting the feet all the way seated. The tool body needs to be touching the lip of the rim...I could tell you were far from touching the 1st few times. When you tore the sidewall, it wasn't because it was leaned past 90...its because it was not fully inserted. The ram foot wasn't on top of the steel cord in the tire bead (called the bead bundle). So you essentially just stretched the rubber in the sidewall and it tore. When you have the foot properly on top of the bead bundle (with full insertion) the ram is pushing on the bead bundle (NOT the sidewall). So then it doesn't matter how narrow the foot is. The bead bundle is acted on by the ram foot, and that brings the rest of the tire with it. This video really highlights how uncooperative some ATV wheels can be. The crux of the issue is, you were looking out for going past 90 deg, but some wheels, like yours, result in going past 90 to get the feet fully inserted (ie contact with the tool body)...then once you are touching, you can back off of the clamp bolt a bit, and line the tool up to 90 deg. That is the proper way to get the tool lined up on tires like yours. I'm glad you figured out the technique, and we appreciate the positive remarks. For those of you reading, DieselMike cold called me one day asking if I could send him a tool to do a review on his YT channel. I said sure, sent him a kit, asked him to be candid with his opinions, nothing phony. I did not pay him for this, just gave him a free tool. So this is as real a video of the experience as you're gonna see. But trust me, read through the instructions 1st, and you'll save yourself some face-palms. Lucas, co-Founder BeadBuster

Lucas, thank you so much for the comment, critique, and mostly sending me the unit. I didn't mean any disrespect by tossing the instructions aside. I thought I familiarized myself with them enough prior by watching the videos you sent me. But as stated in the video I didn't want to do one of those reviews where I just cut to the successful attempt where I trick the viewers into thinking I got it on the first try. So for sake of speed, I skipped reading them. Lesson learned.
I totally get what you are saying about getting the foot fully inserted. When I was reviewing my video, I could clearly see that hand tightening the first bolt was way insufficient. That tip you mentioned about going past 90 degrees to seat the foot and then backing off to 90 is the one main takeaway I would advise to anyone reading this.
      Thanks again Lucas!

This is why you should soap up the rim bead surface to break those beads easier . Should be done at the factory first install !

No doubt! All 4 wheels now have a nice layer of slippery Surface Shield/Fluid Film (same thing) as you saw in video. So if they need to come off again, I imagine they will pop right past the bead. Thanks for commenting! 👍🔧

Haha. A little different content than yours. Trust me, this time of year the clubs stay in truck always ready for a round.
