- After a late breakfast of bread crumbs and carrots we gave the birds a bath, and Sunny (the yellow Lutino) got really into it. Bijou could care less, he didn't mind getting spritzed, he just wanted to dance around and sing.
The one singing goes "Okay, honey. I'll provide the shower music, then it's my turn!" XD

Haha the grey one is so funny! They’re both really cute though I love tiel bath time!! And that noise that he (Bijou) makes after you say “bijou you don’t even understand what’s going on do you?” Arghh it was too cute when he did that! And it sounds exactly like the male cardinal of the backyard cardinal family that I know and love - and it’s funny because I promised myself I would teach a cockatiel all my favourite cardinal calls (if I ever do get a tiel that is, I sincerely hope I do!)
That grey cockatiel makes me laugh out loud! He just doesn't stop lol Cockatiels are such great pets. I think they're even better than some of the other parrots. Love them.

I had a male cockatiel and he sang a lot too. In fact, we had canaries too, and one day, I noticed my cockatiel singing this very ODD song...and realized that he was trying to imitate the trill of a canary...very cute.
Our bird does the exact same thing and we spray water on his feathers! I love it when they puff up! So adorable!

+loving heart723456 can someone help? When I take my bird (Ozzy) a bath he often fluffs up like Sunny but he puts his head under his wing. Is it that he doesn't like the water? Is it that he's preening himself there? is it that he just doesn't want his eyeball to get wet? what is it?
+loving heart723456 Also just so you guys know the best way for your bird to shower is in the rain. My bird (0zzy) feels uncomfortable in a glass container. I mean think about it... wouldn't you rather bathe in what your used to then a wierd cold place......

Thanks for sharing this! I was having a bad day and this cheered me up. I used to have a pair that acted very similar to your gorgeous birds and it reminded me of all the silly fun times we had.
I'm pretty sure you can place a bowl of water outside their cage with the door open on the cage and let them climb to it on their own. My grandma's cockatiel used to hate being handled, but loved taking a bath in this way, and once they're done if you need them in the cage again gently wrap a towel around them and move them back into the cage.
That cockatiel is a better singer than most people today!

I had a bath too and my 1th cockatiel used to stand on the edge near the water...but never stood actually in the water! I used to spray water on him so :) haha later he loved it though especially in the summer!

my pearl pied does the exact same thing! we'll give her a dish of water and we won't even have to spray her, she puts her wings up and tries to bathe before she even gets in the water. its so funny
