  • In this video I go thru the Apollo/Conbraco RP40 (40205T2) repair of a 1" size but the repair is similar for 1/2" - 2" size assemblies of the same series.
You can find repair parts here: backflow-supply.com/collectio...
I didn't know the issues with it when it came in just hooked it up and you see all that I saw and did to figure out what was wrong and how to repair the assembly.
Sorry in a couple of spots my back blocked the shot of what I was doing temporarily.

This was a really interesting repair fix there was a lot involved in getting this back up an running. It was a concern with the amount of damage internal an why it took so long for the owner to look into it because looking at the poppet damaged look like was damaged for a long time before he started doing something about, but other than than most impressive repair thank you. Oh before I forget we no longer install these models in NZ they were deleted about 20-25 years a little bit of statistic someone my be interested in

The short answer is it is designed to prevent the reversal of flow of the water in your sprinkler lines from going back into the drinking water/city water.
Here is a short intro from a local jurisdiction in Utah. You may be able to find one for your jurisdiction on their web page www.sjc.utah.gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/1.4-water-attachment-4.pdf Depending on how in depth you want to go there is a lot of info on the internet and if you are interested on some authoritative ones email me at sean@backflow-supply.com and I will provide some for you.
