  • Here is my little jam with Prophet 5. I created my own patches. They are little bit more soundtrack oriented than most pop style Prophet 5 jams on the youtube. Hope you'll like it.
I didn't use any effects. This is my first synth which I like play without effect adding.
I just love sound of Prophet 5. There is no other sounding synth like P5. I have a lot of hardware synths and vst synths. Nothing can compare. Soon I'll also do some test with Repro-5 which I love, but they sounding so different.
I'm preparing my new album with only Prophet 5 and Minimoog Model D. Subscribe for more details. They will be soon. Thanks!

Hello, what do you think of Pro-8 in comparaison with prophet 5? Lead, pad... big difference? Thank you

You mean Prophet 8, or Sequential Circuits Pro-8? I don't have Prophet 8, but I hear it on youtube. They both are completely different sounding synths. Prophet 8 is sounding very nice, but it has DCO and not the same filters. But what is interesting - I have OB6 from Dave Smith. And OB6 has dark type of sound which reminds me Prophet 5. Also, what is interesting. Engineers from Prophet want to build poly Minimoog. So, they are some similarities in sound. Prophet 5 has some kind of vintage Minimoog vibe in it, but it is poly. But if you want Prophet 5 just take a look on Repro 5. It is so close, more close as Prophet 8 for sure.

I'don't like the Dave smith generation of synth he take the name "prophet" for marketing only, for me there's no comparaison with old original sequential. Except like you say for OB6 and eventually prophet 6 who are a little above of the rest Dave smith synth...

@@denversos No, they are completely different. Thats why I decided to still keep Pro-8. Only one thing which is common, that Pro-8 is smells vintage Sequential Circuits and has really nice 80s style power bass. But mostly Pro-8 has very nice for pads when you put Sky Reverb on him (I used it on my Der Weg album for synth choir style pads). I'll do Pro-8 yt video since I programmed couple nice sounds on it. So, you'll be hear the differences. Anyway - Pro-8 is cheapest synth to get to vintage Sequential Circuits family, so it is worth to buy. But, as I said - nice pads, nice basses, but not very deep. Nothing sound like P5, even P600 which should be much closer to P5 isn't. Only Pro One has some sound like it is took from P5, since it has same oscillators.

@@denversosProphet 6 and OB6 are nice synth if you isn't expected them to sound like Prophet 5 or vintage Prophets. But, as I said earlier OB6 has some P5 vibe, also P6 with muffled cutoff. But they definetely are modern vco synth. Which sometimes is what I need.
